I hate the fact that America has turned its back on Nuclear Power. We need to make new Nuclear Plants based on the latest technology. That would realistically solve much of our energy problems.

Nuclear fission is the only stopgap we have pending the large-scale adoption of nuclear fusion and renewables like wind/hydro/solar. Also transportation needs a revamp - we'll need electric high-speed rail lines connecting the megacities along each coast, and possibly inland too

(1) They hear the word "nuclear", and think of nuclear bombs - rather than just an adjective meaning "relating to the nucleus of an atom".
(2) Chernobyl and Fukushima will always be mentioned, but these events are not applicable unless you are a corrupt late-Soviet state or build the nuclear power station on a known fault line.

Yale had an incident in 2015 (iirc) about Halloween costumes. Erika and Nicholas Christakis were involved, defending the right of students to make their own decisions about costumes after a dean sent an email about it.

@@I_Sell_Pills well look at it from this perspective, the Republican Party is built upon the idea of the white family, the dad being a military veteran or in active duty, the mother being a cook in the kitchen 24/7, and the children being straight A students at a wealthy private school or an nearly all white public school, all of whom are catholic and visit church together. They have time and again attacked women’s rights, and have debased any sense of rights for LGBTQ+, anyone who is not catholic they consider an enemy of god hence why anti-semites and other forms of religious hatred are on the rise on social media platforms. Voting rights are always being weakened for those of color in certain districts of their respective states. All of this is what independents and the left see as the political right. I myself do not believe every Republican follows these values, some people are perfectly normal folks but I can’t say I agree with their political stance after everything that’s happened recently in the past 20 years.
Anyways, this is why I think society has become “SJW” because it’s a way of resisting a spread of this toxic mentality that brought about true cruelty towards particularly gay men and women. People dread a return to those days so everyone has become social zealots in a way.
