n I have an ileostomy. My large intestine was removed and my small intestine protrudes through my abdomen. Because i lost my large intestine, I struggle to absorb water and salt... although my small intestine has adapted over time to absorb more water than a normal person. How did i get here? I had ulcerative colitis which got so bad i almost died from toxic megacolon. How did it get this bad? Through misdiagnosis and ignoring worsening symptoms until it was too late... i thank every day that I am alive, and have come to embrace life with a stoma... but if you are reading this, i encourage you to find out about crones and colitis and educate others about these all too common illnesses.
great lecture, is there another function of mucus as being anti-acidic? similar to gasket sealer., also as part of the immune defense mechanism in covering cells and facilli
How do amino acids and sugars get absorbed through the small intestine, are there protein channels or a receptor mechanism, do they just slip between cells? How do fats get absorbed?
I have a bad odor which originates from my GI cz I don't have sinusitis and my dental is ok It has persisted for over 10yrs and worsens when am hungry or immediately after meal Drs say ulcers but every kind of medicine for ulcers but no remedy I need help please if I get chance you read my message Am unpleasant it's terrible
