The early Pumpkins songs are so wonderful....they capture that feeling of being in your 20s with all sorts of interesting and brash ideas...ready to change the creative landscape forever.
Bryan Morgan in my honest opinion I think he is the goat of drumming.. I know people will claim I'm crazy and say its Neil Peart or others.. I get an eargasm when i listen to Jimmy's drums!!
It's just ridiculous. They've been my most listened band for the last 4 years or so but I still find songs that I've never even heard on almost daily basis. Songs like this one here. It's because they are all just shattered all over the internet and there's so much stuff that you can't buy on physical NOR digital copy anywhere, they just lay somewhere in the depths of RUclips but hard to track everything down and even harder to put them in any order. I hope they'd put everything on Spotify some day but Billy has said that it's out of his control... and even Spotify is missing one of their main studio albums, Zeitgeist. And wait, there's plenty of versions of Zeitgeist too that each miss some songs that are included on some other version. It's fucking crazy man, I tell you.
Favorite band for 10 years, I was obsessed with tracking down every single b-side and rarity I could. This is the first time I've heard this song. I am in love again.
Corgan's such a hippy, but I love his psychedelic side. The phaser guitar solo's from Pisces Iscariot, and dueling guitar solo's in Gish are awesome. Throw in Jimmy Chamberlain's crazy snare lead drum fills, and I'm 1 happy camper. The SP are a perfect mix of simple, and progressive. In fact, if you've never listened to 1 of their albums, you might misjudge them, & I think a lot of people do. They have no clue that JC's 1 of the best Jazz influenced rock drummers from the 90's.
The first time I heard Siva and the drums on that, when I was just 14, was honestly akin to my first time taking Amphetamines, aged 31 - the exact same feeling of euphoria, excitement and uncontainable energy. No other music has ever done that to me.
the billy- james- jimmy- d'arcy lineup is the only way i'll ever see smashing pumpkins. those were beautiful years.. glorious, magical music i dont like the 21st century
Taking my time Taking everything i have Losing my mind Losing everything i have Who do you want to be? You want satisfaction you can't receive Who do you want to be? You want satisfaction you can't receive Harder to find Easy to just walk away I'm losing my mind I've lost everything i have And i have And i have Yeah, i have Who do you want to be? You want satisfaction you can't receive How many times will you leave? You want sati-satisfaction you can't receive
I used to listen to this East and their Cover of Venus in Furs like incessantly. oh and purr Snickety too. I never noticed the flange on the drums about 4:30 in so thanks for that
oh my god you are so fucking right! I just found this too and this is amazing!. Imagine if this wasn't a demo and sounded more clear, this could have easily have been a major hit foe the band.
Awesome song. I remember I had this demo (Moon) years ago, and this song was definitely a highlight. That's an epic guitar riff. Too bad the sound quality is kind of poor. I wonder why they never included this song on Gish. Did Psychodelic morph into Rhinoceros during a jam session or something?
@jakeenan hes actually realized this and went all out on the new album, oceania is about as pumpkins as you can get, hell it sounds alot like siamese dream, very shoegaze but got some ehavy bits, look it up its great, honestly after hearing the new stuff im like fuck zeitgeist and teargarden(save a few songs like stellar and cottonwood symphony)
One of the very few songs where the title of the track describes the song playing as well!!!! My like was like number 666... Am i reading to much into this? aha
Yeah Jimmy always has good fills I find, lots of energy when he plays. There are others that are really kick ass too (Drown, Hummer, Porcelina). I guess maybe Corgan acts like a solo artist because in a way, he is one. The Smashing Pumpkins pretty much is Billy. But, I see what you mean.
I asked Billy, “what made you go from this era “look” to the Zero shirt silver pants people usually associate you with?”. He said “well we were on a lot of LSD” 😂
@GermanPeoplePerson probably biased cause thats still there, only differance with new and old pumpkins is that newer ones are more instrumental, hell superchrist has like 5 lyrics in it
@jsh020 there are good songs once in a while, sure, but there isnt that constant flow of genius that used to be. just the atmosphere of the music was different then. its not only about skillful playing.. its also about the feel of the music. i dont like the feel of it anymore.. maybe i am biased, but this is what i believe nonetheless.

I love pre-Gish. very distinct sound.
I know I'm probably alone in this but I way prefer the 88/89 demos and stuff to pretty much all of Gish
Jimmy is probably the best drummer I've ever heard.
Sweet Mother of Drums. Jimmy Chamberlin.
JC shows us the way.
Lol right... my god

@@IIExhibitAII exactly
Not to be picky but father of drums
Jimmy is goat and Billy's guitar skills is hardly talked about and super underrated! Pumpkins are my all time fav!!
Imagine being a fan at this stage in their career, falling into a coma then waking up 30 years later with a mammoth discography to dive into.
Sady Wootten I love this comment
If I think about that, it's kinda sad in an infinite sort of way. The world sucks today. It's like a vampire

I just got clean so it's kinda like that
@@Meemitalo_ sp aren't a spotify band, get soulseek and fall into the rabbit hole

This is great! Kind of like a droning psychedelic song with powerful drums on it to wake you up so you don’t fall into a daze completely!
Honestly some of the greatest music I've heard in my life

Ok the flange effect that they put on the snare drum at 4:43 is one of the coolest fucking things ever
😂😂😂
Billy Corgan: coolest guy alive since 1967.
no matter what the haters say
my bad day is finally getting ok...always a thrill to hear an old SP track u never heard before..
Smashing pumpkins rock! Best band of all time
What an unknown gem 👌
the billy- james- jimmy- d'arcy lineup is the only way i'll ever see smashing pumpkins. those were beautiful years.. glorious, magical music
i dont like the 21st century
Stelle too bad D'Arcy turned out to be a lunatic lol.. At least James came back around again.. :)
i see the band SP itself like a double-album: pre-2000 and post-2000.
Billy Corgan is the Samson of music, he was incapable of writing a bad song when he had hair!
i LOVE the sound to this song... why am i just now hearing it?
Absolutely Fuck'n love it! Such a timeless sound.
wow this takes me back
Jesus, how they kick it.. The final flow is divine..
Holy shitballs this song is amazing
Taking my time
Taking everything i have
Losing my mind
Losing everything i have
Who do you want to be?
You want satisfaction you can't receive
Who do you want to be?
You want satisfaction you can't receive
Harder to find
Easy to just walk away
I'm losing my mind
I've lost everything i have
And i have
And i have
Yeah, i have
Who do you want to be?
You want satisfaction you can't receive
How many times will you leave?
You want sati-satisfaction you can't receive
the smashing pumpkins are propably the greatest past 70s psychedelic rock band ever.
Tame Impala?
@@alexmalch don't think so
@@arabe66 why not, another great band
@@alexmalch I know it's good, I like them. But not the greatest, not for me I think.
@@arabe66 it’s true they’re not the greatest
Found out about this song 10 years ago. It's been an interesting decade, but I'm lucky to have SP with me. My favorite band of all time.
Such a chill, dreamy tune.
spiritual enlightenment

amo esta banda♡ :3
I'm a huge Pumpkins fan but it's the first time I'm hearing this! This sounds like it has been "recycled" and turned into the song *Rhinoceros* .
both songs have their own spirit
You can download it. You must right click the song you want and click "save link as..". If you left click the song you'll just be streaming it.
I used to listen to this East and their Cover of Venus in Furs like incessantly. oh and purr Snickety too. I never noticed the flange on the drums about 4:30 in so thanks for that

OMG I DON'T KNOW IF U REMEMBER ME BUT WE USED TO WORK TOGETHER I DIDNT KNOW YOU WERE A PUMPKINS FAN OMG
Their best demo in my opinion.

This song is pretty neat. I like this song and "Holiday".
