I’m surprise that it wasn’t Mustard. For some reason, almost every single time I played this as a kid it was Coronel Mustard in the lounge/study. Usually with the candlestick.
PS.: Jack, just a tip for you. If you think Robin knows the weapon and he asks a weapon and a location you have… show him the weapon. In fact, avoid showing locations in general (unless the other player is going back and forward to a location you have).

Pro tip: if you have cards in two categories you can suggest those two continually and figure out the last category pretty quickly. Let's say you have a revolver and a candlestick, and the kitchen and ballroom. You can continually move between those two rooms, suggesting the weapons you have, asking different suspects each time. Within five turns max you know who the murderer is and can go from there. Also watch your opponent's suggestions as if they suggest, say, Green in the Ballroom with the candlestick, and you have the candlestick and the ballroom, and someone else gives a card, you know that card has to be Green and you can cross him off your list.
Also if you have the situation Jack had where someone suggested Orchid, Rope and Conservatory, it was clear the card offered was Orchid because Jack already had the Conservatory, and had already deduced that the rope is the murder weapon.

Goofy, Jack had already figured out that nobody could show the rope card as it was in the folder as the correct murder weapon, and he had the conservatory in his hand so it couldn't be shown by his opponents either. So when that combination, of Orchid, Rope and Conservatory came up, and another player did show a card to that combination, the only card that remained for anyone besides Jack to show was the Dr Orchid card. Simple process of elimination. It's the same thing with using two of the cards you already possess, you're the only one who can show those two cards so the remaining category is the only one your opponents can show. And if nobody can show you that third category's card, then you know right away that that card that's missing MUST be in the folder as the correct answer for that category.
I always do this. The only issue is, whenever I do it, people immediately assume I’m cheating by looking at their cards.

We have Cluedo at home but its a weird finnish Cluedo. No one is murdered, theres only major crimes. Your not supposed to find the murder weapon or the room. Your only supposed to find out who commited the crime and where they are hiding by asking questions from the game characters. Also one of the characters is lying and your supposed to go to a guy who will tell you who the lier is. Its weird.

Anna G & pablo buquet As far as I know all Cluedos in Finland are like that, and I've never seen anyone non-finnish play a version of the game that would be exactly like it, but I could be wrong. I'm not a Cluedo expert.
Our Cluedo is similar to the traditional one in the sense that you take notes and cross out things. You have a list of faces and names, and when you ask questions from the characters they will always describe the criminal, and you take notes of what they say and cross out faces based on whether or not they fit the given description until you only have one option left.
We just have clue. The board game. Literally everything is the same but its clue

I got the impression they've all played Clue, or Cluedo, it's just been a while since they played the original board game and they haven't played the computer version. I barely remembered myself ^^U I only remembered guessing and that three card were hidden.

You're everywhere, my god
Clue can actually become very complex when you pick up on *all* the details. So for one example: if you know everyone has 5 cards; Person A asks ballroom, knife, and Mustard; you've seen 4 of Person B's cards, and you have Mustard and the knife (or know where they are), and then B shows A a card you haven't seen them show yet (ballroom), now you know all their cards and you can side step asking them anymore questions without even having seen all of their cards. There's obviously more ways than just that to figure out who has what, but it's a decent example of how much thinking can go into the game.

Anyone else grow up with The Simpsons Clue? If I remember correctly, it was Homer as Mr. Green, Marge as Mrs. Peacock, Bart as Prof. Plum, Lisa as Ms. Scarlett, Krusty as Col. Mustard, and Smithers as Mrs. White. Used to always choose Green.
