That Adam Armstrong in hospitality calamity is just a metaphor for the leadership at the club right now. Just commercial guys, nobody is running the football side.
I'm a Leeds fan and would like to apologise for Leeds not turning up at Wembley, it should have been us that was getting hammered every week. Come back to the championship and win most weeks. I live 3 miles from Southampton, all the locals are gutted with saints. It's cruel being a football fan sometimes. See you next season after Leeds fk up again.
I tried talking to other Saints fans about our midfield in the summer - we got Downes (crucial) but we loaned out SC and replaced him with LO. So we had TWO! central midfielders, one of which is a total novice in the most important area of the pitch. Lallana was a nonsense purchase (he's shot) - as was Stewart (no-one has ever recovered fully from an Achilles rupture - there's a reason the Romans used to cut the Achilles of troublesome captives!), BBD (Martin loved him because he'd played at Villareal), Sulemana (joke player), Cornet....the list goes on....
I'd say Lallana was fine tbh. I don't think there was a transfer fee and when he's been out there he's been decent tbh. The big reason he was brought in was to mentor Dibling and SAA and I think Dibling's form is definitely impacted by that.
36:30 Ankersen was a complete puppet at Brentford. He did next to nothing there. Brentford were happy for him to go, and you have to ask why!? He is a complete charlatan.
What irks me about our current midfield is that we never learned from being short in defensive midfield after having to rely on Diallo after Lavia was injured and we allowed Romeu to leave
I think Glen was onto something regarding not signing the good players anymore. Bournemouth do sign players from the championship but they have a 37m striker, a 27m central midfielder and a 26m winger and a 24m centre half The reason we are in this mess to start with in my opinion is we seem to spend on kids or cheap so SR can make quick cash. They would obviously chose premier league football but the main priority is making money buying cheap and selling high instead creating a good team. Let’s not forget paying for Ramsdale was a last resort for them after the failed Bijlow medical.
100% with you on that ... look at the recruitment when we had different owners when we was managed by Ronald koeman and Ralph we signed good players since sporting Republic has took over apart from ramsdale we have signed at best mediocre players 7m 12m 5m players that want very low wages ..shame as we received parachute payment and 100m➕️ in player sales then add the promotion money but have not seen really any real investment into quality players
Absolutely! You can have an Adam Armstrong or a Joe Aribo, but you have to have them surrounded by quality players that we brought in for 25m plus. Ramsdale is the perfect example. It doesn't matter how many shots he can stop or his distribution if the back line is so poor that the opposition gets 10+ shots on target.
Saw this coming when Downes was injured and Fernandez not available as they are our two ok quality midfielders, Joe and Lesley can’t be the basis of our midfield
My problem is that are players are not fighting! Luton as an example played every minute trying to win even when they were 3-0 down, even when they knew they were going down they still fought hard, players come off the pitch looking knackered. Our players dont even look to have broken a sweat. This attitude we are seeing happened when nathan jones was in charge, there was a little bit of energy when selles was in charge but this attitude is toxic and needs to stop otherwise we are going to be bouncing up and down every other season.
Knowing the football that Juric likes, I wonder how angry he was after that....show. Surely we shouldn't be blaming the manager already? Our players are terrible, and that's on the recruitment.
Well I tuned in as always. It’s kinda cathartic to listen to you express similar feelings to me. I really don’t know how I’m going to get through to May watching this rubbish. The Saints Bar ticket for Swansea is £90 btw!!! Depressing
you are all very critical of the manager so why don't you pick your first 11 from our whole squad and why is Glen allowed to out his personal feelings against Joe Aribo.
@@steve_steve11111 we pick our chosen 11 usually every week. Glen is “allowed” to because it’s our podcast, you’re also allowed to share how you feel you know?
I’m sorry but Steve doesn’t half talk a lot of nonsense how can you say that nobody would want KWP and Downes I guarantee both of them are playing premier league football next season.
Fair enough but again saying Onuachu isn’t a good player is just nonsense the guys only just started playing games, same with Sulemana i appreciate they’ve not set the world alight but you need regular starts to build rhythm and confidence.
@@MatthewEmmersonOnuachu has started 4-5 games and done nothing. How long do you wait before deciding he’s not that good? We’ve been trying to sell him since we bought him and the only club who wants him is in turkey and only want to pay £4m. Sulemana is terrible, done nothing in almost 3 seasons besides his brace against Liverpool. He hasn’t looked like coming close to scoring or creating anything.
I disagree woth the posting on social media. You should have the right to poste whatever you want on social media. If another person takes offence to it then that's on them.
Not a Southampton fan but love your guys pod - keep it up in difficult times, it can’t be enjoyable to be doing these at the minute.
It's been a tough few years honestly 😂 How did you find us? Thanks for watching!
@ From one of your previews when you played Forest. I stuck around as I like you guys, good luck for next season at least! 🤞
@@Rzarecteh ah nice one! Appreciate it.

If Uric doesn't work out, should we give Rusk the chance to take the rest of the season?
Seems like a smart idea John!

Not forgetting about Bijlow is a great point

Saints only 8 points from safety, this is doable!
Ten points short of 18th dude. Or to put it another way, we only need to nearly treble our current points total.
