You know it's gonna be a good day when a Wild Alaska video pops up !! That PGYTECH reader/carrier is something I didn't know existed. I will definitely have one in my bag....simply genius !!! That print is stunning and would look good hanging on any wall.
Great to see you, Scott. I'm very happy for you that you were feeling well enough to make this video for us. Wishing you continued healing. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 As for the PGYTECH .... for me, I only have one camera and never even come close to filling my CFE B card on an outing, so no, I wouldn't use one. Having said this though, I can see where a photogrpaher would love this. The company really thought of everything for not only the tech aspect but the convenience as well. It's an all around tool. Great idea and implementation!
Welcome back, Scott! So glad to see you well enough to put out a new video! The PGY Tech card reader/case is new to me. I love its multi function capability as well as the rugged construction and think it will be a very useful addtion to my kit. As a subscriber I think its safe to say we all look forward to your videos but most importantly we want you to look after your health first. Please take good care. In the meantime we'll keep running that shutter!
Nice to se you up and out......Looks like a great addition to anyone who shoots on a daily basis. for fun or for a profession. I will pass this on to all of my wire service folks that I work with. Thanks. Bests Gary
My wife and I really appreciate all of your videos. We are just getting back into photography and your review of the PGY TECH CFexpress will be great for us since we will be using multiple cameras. Glad to see you are doing better looking forward to future videos.
Healthy recovery Scott! Thanks for this video! This product seems like a cool addition to my loadout because I shoot drone, gopro and canon and instead of having cards scattered in a film container, secret pocket and/ or hoping theres enough space on whatever is in each camera, I can properly label and offload after every shoot and have all of my cards in one spot and have confidence before every shoot, cheers!!
It is great to see you here and taking pictures again Scott. I only have the R6 and normally download to my desktop at home or to my laptop that has the reader built in so this device doesn't make too much sense for me but I can see being really handy for others.
Glad to see you back and hope your recovery is going well that card reader seems amazing and I will definitely look into the purchase of one trying to remember what readers and cables to take with you can become overbearing sometimes when you have to take multiple pieces of equipment glad you were able to get back out in the field
Great to see you out and about again Scott. The PGYTECH CFexpress CreateMate Card Reader seems pretty good- always good to be able to consolidate down what you have to carry - and with fast transfer speeds. Would be nice if it had an SSD disk in it so you could back the cards up to it - save you having to take a computer on remote travel trips.
Glad to see you back and recovering. That PGYTECH card reader is pretty cool. May have to pick one up myself. I love that print of the wolves. It would look great on my wall.
It is so good to see you back!. I hope your recovery goes smoothly so you can get out and do what you love doing. I have considered the PGYTECH and probably will buy it. I have a bad habit of not carrying spare cards with me. I should really change that. I really like the PGYTECH camera straps I have. I use the red beads for my lenses that have anchors for straps and black beads for my cameras. When I use a lens with the red beads I move my strap to the lens.
Happy to see you were able to get back out and shoot. Wishing you continued progress on your recovery! That looks like a great device and I'll be looking into it. I too am always looking for ways to streamline on how much gear I carry out into the field and on trips.
Regarding the PGYTECH, I always appreciate new pieces of gear that innovate and make things easier. I haven't needed it myself yet, but I can see a future where I buy one! It's on my "gear list"!
Great to see you back Scott and and feeling so positive as you said its a long road but a journey you can make my friend keep strong and yes this pgytech will certainly help reduce what we have to carry I'm always looking at how to lighten what I take out with me at 70 every little helps
Hey Scott, it's awesome to see you back! I actually won my type B CreateMate on another YT channel. It's great though I don't know if it is the faster version. The print is beautiful !!! Greg
So glad you’re doing better I know what it is like after heart problems now on your video that reader looks great being portable and weather resistant and it keep me from losing my Sd cards and cable that I seem to do Thanks for the video
Nice to see you back doing what you love doing, as far as the PGYTECH reader / carrier is concerned it seems like it is a must for every photographer out there. Will definitely be in my bag. Wishing you great success in your ongoing recovery.
Scott thanks for this review. Many things to like about the PGYTECH. Love the weather proofing and the protection the sleeve provides, great for the field. Thanks for pointing out the 3.2 version. Nice there are 2 colour options.
I now travel full time in my Airstream so space and organization are always a concern when making a new purchase and this little card reader checks all the boxes. Another great review and pleased to see you getting back outdoors where you belong.
So happy to see you out and about Scott, Happy Easter. As to the gear, well I'll be grabbing one of these. Another great idea, like the substitute eye piece for the R7 (still working well) The card reader will come in real handy when I head up north your way for the Grizzlies this year. Last year I used the cable to connect my camera to the laptop to download each day and it was sooo slow (almost missed dinner!) so this will solve that problem! Love the wolf print. Take your recovery slow and steady Scott and we'll watch for your upcoming vids
I am so glad to see you're feeling well enough to make a new video! I will most definitely be getting one of these. So very handy that it's an all-in-one type of device.
Woohoo! Welcome back Scott! I just got back from a weekend away and what is the first thing I see upon my return…so great to see you in your recovery. Slow and steady wins the race. Looks like you got a new ride too. 👍 As for the CreateMate it’s a brilliant idea and makes things easier having everything in one place. Continued healing and sending you lots of positive vibes ❤🩹
It's just great to see you well enough to make a video! There are a lot of people offering you support and prayers! We are getting 18 inches of snow in New Hampshire right now so Alaska doesn't have a monopoly on not letting go of winter. I could see using the PGYTECH CreateMate if I get even more into video as that fills the cards so fast. Something to consider for sure moving forward.
Good to see you Scott, you are looking well. Great review and a great bit of kit for those that need it. A wonderful photo of the wolves too. Wishing you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you on your next vlog.
I got excited seeing this because shooting the R5 as well as having to use annoying DJI drones on occasion, I can have access to all three card sizes of cards as well as the fast reader. Perfect match for my workflow. Love your channel. Keep healing.
Great to see you back outside creating new content, Scott! We continue to pray for your full recovery. The PGYTech card reader and storage case will definitely find a place in my bag.
Excited to see you back making videos again, I enjoy your perspective on the outdoors. Wishing you a full recovery. The PGYTECH Card Reader and Case looks like a winner for wildlife photography adventures.
I just discovered WILD ALASKA today! Wow! Sorry to hear about the health issues but it looks like you are bouncing back strong. Hope the recovery continues well. Thanks for a very informative review of an amazing item. I have several readers and cases. This PGYTECH CFexpress CreateMate would definitely help save a lot of space and headaches when I forget something. In my "not-so-young" years, I definitely need everything to be lighter and the fewer items I need to remember is better.
That looks a very useful but of kit. Should have a Z8 soon and I think that would be an ideal addition. Having once lost a card case out in the wild(I finally found it) really appreciate how handy and flexible it could be. It’s on my wish list now. Hope the recovery continues. Alan from Wales Uk.
Happy to see you on the mend. It is great that you are able to get back out in the field and do what you love to do. Always look forward to watching your videos. The PGYTECH card reader looks interesting and an excellent option as opposed to carrying multiple card readers. Seems like a good solution to that problem.
So glad to see you feeling well enough to gently get back into it. PGY Createmate looks like a great option for consolidating card readers and card storage. Will definitely check it out too replace my ziploc strange option 😅
Glad to see you’re recovering! Took the plunge on the R7 after seeing all your videos using it. Had the Sigma 150-600 already and the autofocus system elevated my photography instantly. Previous camera was the 80d! Happy shooting 🙂
Welcome back. Never new about PGYTECH device. Looks promising. I am on a 4th cards "storage" and, based on your great review of it, I will be looking into buying it. Ithink this is exactly what I need as a field device, in addition to my other storage.
I just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed. I like the idea of the PGYTECH device and plan to order one shortly. It will give me extra room in my camera back and make life a lot easier. I have a Nikon Z6 and Zf, so I use all three sizes of cards. Thanks for the tip.
First, glad to have you back making videos. Second, I shoot with the R6mkII and GoPro and DJI Mini 2, so the SD/Micro SD version is nice, and it reads UHS-II SD cards. But it is only the USB 3.1. And this is the reason I'll wait for the next generation. Again, glad you still on the sunny side of the grass.
So great to see you doing your thing again, Scott! Made maid my day. 😀 The PGYTECH reader/carrier sounds like a great piece of gear, however I have my stuff slimmed down to just one camera (R5) and one zoom lens (RF 100-550) so I wouldn't need something as elaborate as that. Take it easy friend.
Hi Scott, it's so great to see your enthusiasm back !! Now you can get out again, I'm sure seeing the birds and other wildlife in action will help you recover even better 💪 I fully get why this PGYTECH tool is a great help to you and other pro photographers ! As for myself, I just have a 512Gb CFxB in my R5, and an SD in case of overflow, but so far only once I reached nearly 15k images with barely remaining space. So I don't have the use case for which you found yourself a fitting solution! Obviously those wolves with the magic eyes would be more than welcome in my home office ;-)
Anything that cuts the clutter in my bag has to be a good thing. I try to limit my gear for travelling, but batteries, cards, readers are a mix of pack but don't carry everywhere. Great to see you are on the mend and I'm sure I speak for everyone here in hoping all continues well for you in your recovery. That Wolf shot is gorgeous btw. Looking forward to my trip to Alaska in May. I've assembled all the gear I want to take.....Now to fit it into the bag!! 😬😁
Coming home and seeing that you had posted a video was just what I need after a long day at work. I like the idea of that card reader/holder. I just got the R6 mark ii this week and am heading to Oregon to "run that shutter" I may pick it up while I'm down there (no sales tax there) either way I'm liking it.
So glad to see you were able to get for a little bit with your camera and that you're on the mend! Wishing you all the best. Cheers from Maine. :) Paula
So glad to hear you are getting out again. I’ve been looking for a better card reader/storage option for when I travel so I need to look into getting one of those. Going to be in Alaska in a couple weeks for the first time. Can’t wait! Keep up the great work and your recovery.
@@WILDALASKA Unfortunately we are only getting as far north as Juneau this time. We are doing wildlife excursions in Sitka and Ketchikan. Hoping to do a trip into the interior (Denali) in a future year.
Hi Scott, Sending positive vibes and wishes your way as you continue your recovery! I saw your review of this unit and bought mine right away. Amazon will even send it to me same day, so I’ll be receiving it in a few hours it looks like. My use case? Simple. Being able to organize and store my multiple SD and Micro SD cards, plus having the ability of on-board card reading and data transfer is a big plus. I fly drones, I take pictures with my camera, and have a small PC (Lenovo Legion Go) as well as an iPad, and I use these devices daily. The card reader and storage device will support my workflows well. One caveat…I took note of the different models and their speed transfer rates. While I would have enjoyed 10gps with the 3.2 version, I don’t use the types of cards that support those speeds. I only use SD and Micro SD cards. The speed transfer of those cards apparently is limited to 3.1 speeds (or 300 mbps). This is fine, but for everyone reading this comment, please take care and order the correct version of this Pgytech product, depending on the types of cards that you work with. Cheers!
glad your back on the mend... I've seen these type card carry/readers but I didn't really trust it, thank you for the review and building the confidence to take the change on one... while viewing the video again to make sure I didn't miss anything I've ordered one and cant wait to replace my different card readers and card cases and merge them into one unit, so thank you again
Love your work, hope you get back to full strength very soon. I think I will invest in this, looks very good and will save me carrying multiple readers. Download speeds are important.
Hi Scott, Thank you for highlighting this great product. I’m always leaving one or the other behind. Just bought one-it will be nice to store my SD cards and reader in one place. AND just subscribed! I haven’t been privy to your health issues, but I’m glad to hear that you are on the mend. I’m now going to look through your videos and check out some AK photography and video. Kind regards, Fred
Glad you’re back! I can see this is very useful card reader for someone like you that has cameras with multiple card types. My R7 just uses SD and my DSLR’s use the older CF type, which this reader doesn’t support. I’m thinking the SD/Micro-SD only version might be useful to copy files from my iPhone to an SD card, but since I can copy them straight to a SSD drive, I don’t really see a need for that. Definitely a cool device that solves a problem for a lot of photographers though.
@@WILDALASKA So far I just use the built-in reader in my MacBook Pro. I’m still thinking about getting one though to have a card reader in an emergency or to transfer stuff to or from someone else’s laptop.
Glad to see you up and at it! Happy Easter! I don't need one of those yet because I usually just shoot in the backyard and not enough to fill up an sd card. Then I just change cards and go inside to dump it. Looks like a good product but, I'm not a pro, so I don't spend as much time out in the field... 👍
Nice your on the road to recovery! The PGYTeck is a neat idea to consolidate things! I ought to get some bigger SD cards for the R7 and use the current 64GB as overflow when I forget to offload things off.
Glad your back to making videos again. If you looking for a video suggestion I would love to get some tips in using gear in colder weather for those of us that live where its semi warm to warm but will be making a trip to wear its much colder (for a few days to a week). Although that reader/case seems great I would really only use one if t was all CF Express slots as I generally carry 3 spare CF Express cards (well 2 and an XQD card to be honest) in addition to whats in my camera and don't use SD cards in anything anymore. Welcome back buddy!
Great to see you back. It's a great chanel. I use r8 (sd) and r5 (sd/cfx) and thus carry two readers (and usb big to usb c and 1tb ssd) to when I am on the road. This device could decrease stuff. I looked - you did not mention most critical to me who backpacks - 198g. Considering. great review and highlighting a good product
Glad to see you back and that you were able to get out shooting today. I love the combination of features. I have a similar product that also holds and charges 2 batteries! I have the Canon R8 so it is SD cards only and for LP-E17 batteries. Love it as it can charge in the car on the way, or using a phone charger in an electric outlet. Wishing you and everyone a blessed Easter ❤
@@WILDALASKA LIFEMOI LP-E17 Battery Charger with Card Reader Compatible with Canon EOS 200D/200D2, M3/5/6, 750D/760D/800D/850D/8000D/9000D/77D, T6i/T6s/X8i/T8i/T7i Digital SLR
Great to see you doing good. I like the idea of a card holder and reader all in one. Would be nice of they had adapters for the cfexpress to sd cards for us that only use sd cards.
Damn, great to see you back. And you're looking good. Hope you can do a review of FW 2.0 for the Z8 and FW 5.0 for the Z9. FW 5.0 caused my Z9 to lock up, so I had to walk back to 4.1. Anxious to hear your impressions. Yes, the CreateMate Card Reader is what I need. Thanks.
So 2.0 for Z8 is pretty much the 3.0 for z9 which is cool. The 5.0 didn't add anything I personally care about for field work. only thing was date on auto capture really. I may do a what's news and talk about them.
You know it's gonna be a good day when a Wild Alaska video pops up !! That PGYTECH reader/carrier is something I didn't know existed. I will definitely have one in my bag....simply genius !!!
That print is stunning and would look good hanging on any wall.
Thanks

The PGYTECH reader/carrier sounds like a great piece of gear, however I have my stuff slimmed down to just one camera (R5) and one zoom lens (RF 100-550) so I wouldn't need something as elaborate as that.
Take it easy friend.
Thanks!
Great seeing you back on RUclips. Been thinking of you and glad you are on the mend. Stay strong.
Thank you, I will
Hi Scott, it's so great to see your enthusiasm back !! Now you can get out again, I'm sure seeing the birds and other wildlife in action will help you recover even better 💪
I fully get why this PGYTECH tool is a great help to you and other pro photographers !
As for myself, I just have a 512Gb CFxB in my R5, and an SD in case of overflow, but so far only once I reached nearly 15k images with barely remaining space. So I don't have the use case for which you found yourself a fitting solution!
Obviously those wolves with the magic eyes would be more than welcome in my home office ;-)
thanks
Great to see you back at it Scott! Looking forward to seeing more videos. I really enjoy them. Take care and hope you have a quick recovery. 👍🏼
thanks
Anything that cuts the clutter in my bag has to be a good thing. I try to limit my gear for travelling, but batteries, cards, readers are a mix of pack but don't carry everywhere. Great to see you are on the mend and I'm sure I speak for everyone here in hoping all continues well for you in your recovery. That Wolf shot is gorgeous btw.
Looking forward to my trip to Alaska in May. I've assembled all the gear I want to take.....Now to fit it into the bag!!
😬😁
Thanks. if you are near anchorage drop me an email
Enjoy!
Just ordered the card holder/reader and ensured it was ver. 3.2 for $99 on Amazon. Thanks for the review!
Hope you enjoy it!
So glad to see you were able to get for a little bit with your camera and that you're on the mend! Wishing you all the best. Cheers from Maine. :) Paula
Thank you so much!
So glad to hear you are getting out again. I’ve been looking for a better card reader/storage option for when I travel so I need to look into getting one of those. Going to be in Alaska in a couple weeks for the first time. Can’t wait! Keep up the great work and your recovery.
drop me an email if you are going to be close to Anchorage.
@@WILDALASKA Unfortunately we are only getting as far north as Juneau this time. We are doing wildlife excursions in Sitka and Ketchikan. Hoping to do a trip into the interior (Denali) in a future year.
Hi Scott,
Sending positive vibes and wishes your way as you continue your recovery!
Cheers!
good info and hope you like the reader. looks like the 3.1 is $40 US an the 3.2 is $99US.
glad your back on the mend... I've seen these type card carry/readers but I didn't really trust it, thank you for the review and building the confidence to take the change on one... while viewing the video again to make sure I didn't miss anything I've ordered one and cant wait to replace my different card readers and card cases and merge them into one unit, so thank you again
It's pretty solid feeling reader..very sturdy. Its held up to my clumsiness so far lol
Thank you for this post.
I do lots of outdoor and wildlife photography here in Florida. We have wet weather. Lol
We got about 6" of snow last night here. weeeeeeee ❄️☃️
Nice to see you back. For me I use a small USB-C/USB-A stick for my R6M2-cards. Greating Leo Lengton
Cool, thanks
Love your work, hope you get back to full strength very soon. I think I will invest in this, looks very good and will save me carrying multiple readers. Download speeds are important.
Much appreciated! Thanks
Glad to see you back.
thx
Glad to see you back!
thx
Hi Scott, Thank you for highlighting this great product. I’m always leaving one or the other behind. Just bought one-it will be nice to store my SD cards and reader in one place. AND just subscribed! I haven’t been privy to your health issues, but I’m glad to hear that you are on the mend. I’m now going to look through your videos and check out some AK photography and video. Kind regards, Fred
Welcome Aboard !
Thanks and very true if you only have sd cards. BUT you could still have a card holder plus reader in one. just depends on your work flow
@@WILDALASKA So far I just use the built-in reader in my MacBook Pro. I’m still thinking about getting one though to have a card reader in an emergency or to transfer stuff to or from someone else’s laptop.
I enjoyed the video. Glad you are getting back into it.
thanks
Nice review of an interesting gadget It's helpful when knowledgeable folks like yourself pass on your insights on all things photography. Stay well.
thx
God bless you! I didn't know about your health challenge. I really appreciate your channel and information. Continued good health brother!
Thanks
Yessss, very happy to see you again.
thanks
Glad to see you up and at it! Happy Easter! I don't need one of those yet because I usually just shoot in the backyard and not enough to fill up an sd card. Then I just change cards and go inside to dump it. Looks like a good product but, I'm not a pro, so I don't spend as much time out in the field... 👍
thanks and happy easter
Nice your on the road to recovery!
The PGYTeck is a neat idea to consolidate things! I ought to get some bigger SD cards for the R7 and use the current 64GB as overflow when I forget to offload things off.
Oh yes, get a 512 for sure. makes life so much better
good to see you back!
thanks
Yay, so happy to see you're back Scott. Happy Easter
Happy Easter
Good to see you, Happy Easter
Happy Easter
Glad your back to making videos again. If you looking for a video suggestion I would love to get some tips in using gear in colder weather for those of us that live where its semi warm to warm but will be making a trip to wear its much colder (for a few days to a week). Although that reader/case seems great I would really only use one if t was all CF Express slots as I generally carry 3 spare CF Express cards (well 2 and an XQD card to be honest) in addition to whats in my camera and don't use SD cards in anything anymore. Welcome back buddy!
I actually made 2 videos with just that topics in December. Cold weather photography
👍
Glad to see you back and that you were able to get out shooting today. I love the combination of features. I have a similar product that also holds and charges 2 batteries! I have the Canon R8 so it is SD cards only and for LP-E17 batteries. Love it as it can charge in the car on the way, or using a phone charger in an electric outlet. Wishing you and everyone a blessed Easter ❤
very cool. send me a link to the product. I'd like to check it out.
@WILDALASKA i keep sending and it gets deleted. I copied and pasted as link gets deleted for some reason
👍
I just bought the PGYTECH from your link. I've been looking for a good card reader. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you!
