Regular Adidas ultra boost are already $180 unless you can find them on sale, and many of their colabs cost well over $200. This is more than a fair price for a highly sought after shoe.
Adidas, you had ONE job: get the LEGO plates to connect smoothly to your shoes... Good job... Translucent blue is awesome, not a fan of the yellow highlight inside
I hope I can get my hands on some if they restock cause the ultraboosts are truely the best and most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. The look so much cleaner and better than the first collab and I love the customisation aspect.
The black socks are the right ones It looks much better because of the upcurved black sole and the contrast to the yellow part. Greetings from the lake of Constance
When somebody talks about shoes and says „I‘m feeling the 200 dollars guys“ that’s usually the moment when I can’t take the person serious anymore but 800$ on a lego set is okay😆🙃
@@giannisneofytou298 the retail economy, maybe. Even the rarer Ultraboosts are reselling below retail now, many of them are about half their price. @@richardmartinez5040 Ultraboost sales are demand driven, as both the midsole and the upper primeknit provide a superb foot experience, and people are willing to pay a premium for. It's not about hype anymore, as ultraboost's aren't as popular as they used to be, but the shoe is surrounded by a certain following. I can go on and on on how comfortable, versatile and premium ultraboost's are, but it all comes down to how much it actually costs for adidas to make the shoe. First, you have the FOB (or Free on Board) cost, the $43. Then, you have transport, insurance and import costs, which add roughly 20% to the FOB cost. Then, Adidas passes on the products to other companies at a lower rate. You also have to account for marketing, as you say, but you also have to account for salaries, design costs, R&D, taxes and more. That leaves Adidas with a dwarfed net income. Also, Nike comparatively has less FOB and marketing costs, on similarly priced items, so your point there is invalid. Another dissimilar point when comparing Adidas to Nike, is the business model these companies are following. Adidas is definitely loosing when it comes to popularity, design and has lagged behind on technology. As is apparent Adidas frequently lowers their prices, cutting more from their net income in favour of sales. This includes prices to reselling companies. You can now easily get pair of ultraboosts for about $100, even directly from their site. Heck, I own 3 ubs which I collectively bought for less than 230 dollars. But discounts is a whole other subject. I'm not saying that Adidas is losing money, but their net income isn't through the roof either. Ps, pricing is subjective. For you, a 180 dollar shoe might be exuberantly priced, but for someone else it might be a worthwhile purchase.
Yooo this was the best review of this sneaker ... seriously. The tip about using other Lego pieces and actually telling us the sizes was great!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
These are far more palatable than the original ZX 8000 Collaboration. I love being able to customize these Ultraboosts & they will go well with my LEGO Levi's Hoodie.
Ultraboosts generally go for $150-$180 depending on the design, so the $200 price point for the special edition LEGO ones doesn't seem too unreasonable...
Given that it sold out and I bought it for $250 since it told out, I'd say it's pretty worth it as it pretty discrete about the lego aspect and still looks cool.
I’m confused when you were on about “plates”? Do they sell different sized plates or something? Since you said the ones that come with them aren’t very good.
Hello, I’ve been wanting to buy the Minifigs4u Martian Manhunter and Cyborg figs for a very long time, but unfortunately they haven’t been in stock for years...any chance you’ll ever make a new batch? And if yes, when may I ask?
Ultra boosts already retail for $180, and based on the comfort, technology behind them, etc., they are well worth it. Then you consider collabs usually go for $200 anyway and this even has custom molded components for this shoe alone, it really isn't much of a stretch at all. At this point this is more of a shoe review and less of a lego review and so to comment about the price is more directed toward adidas and the ultra boost series as a whole and less at this shoe specifically
Why are they 200 dollars ? Lol because its an ultra boost. One of the most comfortable shoes on the planet and one of the coolest tech shoes as well. You've obviously never worn a pair you're in for a treat.
as someone who is a sneakerhead and a Lego collector, this was hard for me to watch tbh but I understand that he is not educated in sneakers at all. it was interesting to see a nonsnker head look a these and point out some things that are pre much standard on sneaker collabs. I thought it was funny with the price thing as well be there are sneakers out there that sell 500$ to even 1000$ tbh I don't think I have had a shoe that retailed for less then 150$ in a couple years. none the less it was still a good video and was interesting to watch as I had and still have no intention of picking them up.
