True story, I traveled with a gal in my ski club who is a county nurse. She said she wanted to inspect the room first before we stayed in it and when she was looking it over, I mentioned about her being a county health inspector, and the motel clerk's eyes got really big. That was the best fun trip ever.
Eric, I worked in a well known top hotel chain several years ago. There are so many things that I have seen. I worked as a housekeeper and inspection. Anytime that you check into a hotel and do not like your room and decide you do not want to stay you can go back to the front desk and ask for a refund and they will give it to you. That was nasty. That means that the housekeeper did not clean that bathtub... And she may not have even changed the sheets. Your room is only as clean as the housekeeper responsible for the room has cleaned it. It doesn't matter if you stay in a cheap hotel or a very expensive hotel... You will get the same results... Either clean or nasty depending on your housekeeper. I personally will not stay in a hotel after what I have seen. One time someone actually filled up the bathtub in one of the rooms with kitty litter so their cat could poop in it and some litter went down the drain and I had to call maintenance to take care of it. This is why I have a camper... I know that it is clean. I used to go around inspecting every room after the housekeepers had cleaned them to make sure they were done properly. Some housekeepers are excellent and some don't do anything. If I would have found hair in the bathtub, first I would have gagged and next I would have been at the front desk. 🤮
@@judithzimmerman3318 thank you! I’ve been in terrible rooms I go and ask for a new room and upgrade for my troubles! If they give me a hard time I just talk a little louder for others to hear!
As a former Housekeeping Supervisor, i would've called front desk to have that room cleaned or change rooms. Bed looks like sheets may not have been changed! They should've refunded your stay! Also, never place anything on bed-use the luggage rack
I could tell you stories of when I inspected rooms/suites. I suspected a housekeeper of not changing linens, so sheets were marked. I thought for sure she would have done so because they're children's toys left in the bed. So ...nope she didn't change sheets and toys were still there. Dumbfounded.
I even got in trouble for actually changing everything out and sending them through the wash. I was always taught to do things as if I was going to be the customer. Apparently that's not how people are taught anymore.
@@maribethspence9458 yea, it’s sad. The place I worked, they wanted us to inspect the blanket & spread & if there was the tiniest stain they went to the laundry.
