- After about 100 hours of drawing time on this portrait it is complete! Colored pencil drawing of the one and only Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock. An inspiration to people all over the world and a person who continually strives to empower the lives of others. For this portrait I referenced his recent headshot from his well-deserved cover of Time Magazine as one the 100 most influential people. Wise words from The Rock - “Success at anything will always come down to this: focus and effort, and we control both.”
Materials: Caran d'Ache Luminance colored pencils on Strathmore 500 series bristol, plate surface.

I love how her work just keeps on improving over the years.... the level of detail and use of exacto knife for texture on the skin is incredible. Comparing her last picture of the ‘rock’ which was incredible then to this is just outstanding. Her skill level now is superb!!!
doing the dark skin tones/shadows (especially large areas) using colored pencils are sooo soooo tricky but you do them so goooood you are indeed *GODLIKE*

Why especially large areas? Large areas are easier to shade than tiny little surgical ones
