Percy...ascetic changes are my jam since I also have a new bike. I like how every little piece be it cosmetic or functional add our own flair and personality! Great change I’m not a chrome guy.
I hear ya on the chrome. Just bought some black caps to cover the chrome bolts on my risers. I love the ability Harley gives you to customize these bikes. The Rarebag I ordered from Germany arrives on Monday while I'm away on a business trip. I'll have to shoot an update after I put that on. I'll put heated grips and 1.5" risers on next month then I think I'm done for awhile. I think. LOL
Hi Percy. I went to change my 2018 stock chrome cover and I’ve now discovered that the case on the 2018 differs to the 2019 in that on your 2019 the seal fits into a groove in the case itself. On my 2018 the seal is fitted into a groove on the derby cover..... so that part does not fit. Back to the drawing board to source a cover that will actually fit a 2018 fatbob. Grrrr
Seriously? That sucks. I wonder if there's also a difference with the '20. I've been waiting for a year for Milspin to do custom derby covers for our bikes. With my luck, they'll probably do one for the '18 and not the '19. That's for commenting with this. Hopefully others will find it useful.
I ended up ordering a custom cover! The deal with the custom machines aluminum cover is that you have to purchase the Harley gasket vs use a rubber seal but it seems to work just perfect and now I have a totally bespoke look into the bargain

You can do it without changing your oil.

No. You can just take the cover off and replace it without worry of any oil coming out.
