OMG! For many years I have been dying for someone to creat a machine lke this ..especially fo Crocheting!! every now and then I check the internet to see if anyone has and I found you! WOW! Its knitting .. But I LOVE THIS.! Will definitely support.
@Tom I’ve been following Kniterate now for 5 years. Is there someone in Germany, Bremen where I could test the machine? I ordered the sample knit and it looks great so far, but I still need to at least try it on. Would be nice to get a hands-on experience before buying the machine.
OmG! I'M IN. LOVE! ARE THESE ON THE MARKET YET? HOW MUCH DOES THIS MACHINE COST OR GOING TO COST ONCE AVAILABLE FOR US TO PURCHASE? Seems like it might be completely out of a typical crafters budget and lean more towards those who have major businesses or those on the wealthier side. I hope I'm wrong though because I'D LOVE SO MUCH TO BE ABLE TO HAVE ONE OF THESE! Omg I'm just so excited about this machine ! But then I get sad because I no how much I paid for my ADDI king size and your machine blows that out of the ball park so I can only imagine what the price on this is going to be. PLEASE MAKE IT AFFORDABLE for those of us whose husbands cringe whenever they find out how much money we spent at the yarn/craft store! Lol
question, how you design a for example scarf? to do this we have to know the computer programing? how you save your design (in photoshop) as K code? the script part is most difficult for me
Hey, i am really interestes about this digital machine, like a beginning of new project, please can you tell me the price?? And also if it work with all the yarns' types, and if it do the finition of the sweater. Please can you tell me where is your office located in? For visiting you, i dont think that we have a such machine in iur region, thx for answering me
I just wonder... How about a FULL BODY KNITTED SUIT? From two feet to top of head, plus from hands to its adjoining shoulders. Of course, a way getting into it. That would be quite a feat. To minimize thread/yarn wastage, you could try a toddler-size first. Then adult-size if the machine could manage it
Hello Swiper Fox - this is possible! There are machines that can do this (you could feasibly do it on ours for a toddler/baby) but almost no-one does it in practice because the effort involved in programming such a garment is far greater than knitting it in sections + linking. On our machine the patterns available would also be pretty limited in this case due to float lengths and running out of yarn carriers. HOWEVER we are now thoroughly in the computer age, and it is only a matter of time before programming effort is done almost entirely by the computer. Have a look at this research if you're interested :) www.disneyresearch.com/publication/machine-knitting-compiler/
Hi Clif, it really depends on how those sweaters are; size, shape, yarns, etc. Please send us an email with more details about it to info [at] kniterate.com. Thanks!
I am really interested in kniterate and am thinking about buying one. But I am very bad at software.🙈 can you show a little bit more about how to use the software? I am very unsure to invest so much money without being sure that I can use it effectively.
Hey, there will be more videos about the software upcoming! We aim to make an interface that is only as complex as the user wants it to be. We will provide templates for simple items like beanies, scarves etc which the user can draw on and resize easily. More complex operations (knitting custom shapes, adding custom stitches) will require more interaction with the software, but this interaction will be easy to understand if you have a knitting background. We're working with knitting machine technicians, designers and user interface/experience professionals to make this software, so we hope it will be simple and intuitive :)

Can’t wait for the machine to come to market. It is fantastic
OMG!!! I need this in my life! :)
Can you make this smaller so that it can make things made for regular fabrics like jeans and T-shirt’s?
I'm so excited for this but I'm going to have to wait a few months to get one.
Hi

Do you have premade templates to design sweaters?
Do you have to have experience with knitting machines in order to use this?
I want this Machine

Can it only do flat knitting or circular as well for something like pants or tights ?

please make this remotely open sourse
I would like to know if I could produce 300 sweater in a month, that means around 10 every day in jersey. Thanks for your reply

What’s the price
Can it go faster?
Fantastic - how much time did it take to knit the scarf?
Hey, it takes maybe 3-4 hours in total. You can't trust the ETA on the screen during this video because we inserted a lot of pauses into the code :)
Ummmm...excuse me, what the difference between "SHIMA SEIKI" ?

haha, it just like mini ShimaSeiki/STOLL machine, are you sure you got no problem with the technical license??
I will have this machine. So long as it is lower than $10K, I will have one.
Sean Lumly I think you can preorder it on Kickstarter for like 5k. Too much for me, but if you get one, come back and tell us how it goes.
Only six yarn bobbins?
can you knit an Afghan?
I want this!! :-D Can you use thicker yarn? Or just this lace-weight thin yarn?
Hi Ziv - you can use up to about 4-ply (US Sport) thickness without issues
Thank you
Cost???
It is on Kickstarter for a couple thousand dollars, correct me if I'm wrong.
So after all these years, it is still a kickstarter? Thanks but no thanks.
