I am a hoist operator and I keep telling people not everyone can be a hoist operator because a good hoist operator always help other trades people loading and offloading their materials and most importantly you have to make everyone happy
An if all u need to do is just help put materials on the hoist and it off then ur job can really be done by anyone its the laziest and easiest job on any site
Imma elevator operator operator for townhouse and I have lazy workers who won’t use the steps expecially electricians no materials stop me from other pick ups it’s the worse how do I professionally get them to tone it down or stop ? I know the elevator for clients guests gcs and materials somebody please make my life alil more easier
I’m a hoist Operator and my goal is always to be respectful, helpful and efficient. My priorities are people going up and people with materials . I encourage people to use the stairs whenever possible especially when going down and when it’s busy . There are people who need the hoist and there are people who don’t . The hoist runs a lot smoother and more efficiently when people only call for the hoist when they need it .
I am a fill in for a hoist operator because we do not have any hoist ops on sight besides me now.i do all of these things pretty much. Its true people do respect you more. The only problem i have is having people say weather or not they are going up or down and if they have materials or what not. I run 17 levels by myself and i wanted to see if i was doing a good job or not or if i could do something to see if i could improve on anything
