    A real test would be if someone purchased the different brands for her and applied it without her knowing which brand it is. Because people have different expectations and prejudices against brands. Also using the same or almost same colour would help.

    1. Same shade
    2. Wear all at the same time on different fingers, but dont use the thumbs as evidence since they are more exposed
    3. Get someone to apply it so its neat and professional looking, at least to start with

      I mean you do generally get better in the 10 dollar range. And indie brands do a much better job with formulas that aren't plain as shit so. But really, a good base coat and a good top coat and a cheap 3 dollar color will last very long. Just like painting furniture. • @cassandrahuete5973
    @cassandrahuete5973 2 года назад +4

    I can't take this video seriously at all because she doesn't use the companion top coat or basecoat. Some of those polishes she used had a built-in base coat, so it is not fair to compare them to other polishes without an added base coat. Some of those polishes come with a top coat that the manufacturers say works best together for a complete manicure. Also your manicure will last better if you don't flood your cuticles when applying.

    Honestly, people should just start using gel polish at home. Best investment I have ever made for my nails! The prep for using gel adds some time while doing your nails, BUT the fact that you don't have to wait longer than 60 seconds for each coat to dry and since it lasts way longer than regular nail polish, it actually cuts down on nail painting time in the end.

    TBH the way you apply nail polish is going to affect the longevity of the nail paint... The 1st coat you apply should be really thin and the brush should barely have any product on there... the second and third coats must be thin as well... and you have to make sure you apply a thin base coat and top coat and seal the laquer... My mom used to work for a paint company that also created nail paints and that is how I know this information

    I haven’t tried any of the other brands but in my opinion Essie is amazing. I’ve only tried two shades so far, their black and a dark red called “forever yummy”. For the red I did apply their strength fortifying base coat first and I also applied an old (very cheap) top coat I had at home and it lasted 16 days with no chipping at all. Can’t remember whether I did two or three coats of the red though. Then I wanted to try the black one so I took the red one off, I reapplied my base coat but this time I didn’t apply the top coat and I kid you not, it stayed on for 24 days with no chipping whatsoever!!! This time I only did one coat of the black, so it’s even more shocking. I have pictures to prove it for anyone who doesn’t believe me haha
    So even if it is a little more expensive than most drugstore brands I would say it’s money well spent. Highly recommend this brand (not sponsored but I wish it was)

I have a worker who has more of an oily feature about them, and Gel doesn't last. I personally don't care for gel due to the damage it does to my nails. However, I can make a standard polish last about 2 weeks before it starts chipping. Everyone is different.

    this is why you can only trust brands like essie and sally hansen tbh and it is an important step to use a bottom coat and good quality top coat.

    You can't properly test these polishes without using base and top coats. Only the first polish seems to be formulated for bare nails while most polishes are formulated to be used over base coat and under top coat. Not only that but a lot of polishes are formulated to be used with very specific base and top coats. You can't really say that these polishes didn't hold true to their claims if you didn't even use them the way they were intended to be used.

    ✨QUICK TIP✨:
    Whenever you're gonna put on polish (may it be gel too) lightly buff the nail bed.it works wonders and even with the shittiest of nail polishes you wouldn't see them chip before 5-6 days.

    I know someone who still sells Avon and I gotta tell y’all that I was skeptical at first but Avon has some of the absolute best polishes I’ve ever used! ESPECIALLY the gel like finish ones. So if y’all know someone who sells Avon give the polishes a try. (I’m not affiliated with Avon in any way this is my honest opinion 😂)

      oh you mean like without heavy fumes? I'll check that out. But if you mean for your nails? Nails dont breathe thats an advertising ploy cuz they know ppl will believe it.

    • @s.a3588
      @s.a3588 Год назад +1

      @@stanzaschulz4339 No, breathable nail polish is different. It's predominantly used by Muslims because of prayer and that; you should check it out it's really cool. The reason it's called breathable is because it allows water to go in between the nail and polish (protecting it kinda.) You should try it out though if you can, it doesn't give that tight feeling normal polish does IMO.

    Hi to anyone who sees this, I want to buy creme polishes for the fall/winter but brands like OPI and Essie chip on me very fast. I don't know a lot of Indie brands who do nudes/neutrals but I wanted recommendations for drugstore brands that were more long-wearing. I haven't tried Zoya, Orly, or any of the gel drugstore polishes. If anyone could give me advice I would appreciate it :) The polish that tends to last the longest on me is KL Polish and ILNP.
