Some last minute things I forgot to include:
In regards to gear: Pick HAZARD, not shockforged, and for the epic neck turn in, pick the melee DPS option.
If you’re running SoM, I’d recommend judging with SoR first on the initial pull for snap threat.
If you get Automatic Crowd Pummeler, you will use SoM over SoC for ret spec. You can also definitely use it for Shockadin spec on the first 4 bosses

for Righteous Fury, you can setup Pallypower to include that, its in the options

Great video, but my take is; I got my full shockadin set and I also don’t take sheathe I go for infusion of light where my holy shock resets exorcism and holy shock and gives holy shock 20% more damage which makes up for sheath spellpower although my exorcisms hit less I get more procs because of this espiecially when paired with divine favor 2 min cooldown - I tank gnomer and clear it even in pugs who don’t know the fights because I can lead it - get shockforged in my opinion because next phase it’s already datamined we be getting more spell crit thanks to our melee crit transferring to our spell crit and I think that set will help achieve max proc potential

A True Paladin familiarizes themselves with Min/Max playstyle/builds but chooses a build based off class fantasy

I've been running ret dps/off tank. Ran shockidan main tank for the first time tonight and parsed higher than ever. More dps than ret even with running taunt rune over crusader strike the whole time. Felt soo good !

I chuckled when I got to your 'Tips' section and saw we made the exact same Weak Aura for Righteous Fury. Mine is just bigger because I am quite forgetful and I have it set to load only when I have the Hand of Reckoning rune on 😁 Thanks for the info!
What tier would you recommend for paladin shockadin tank?
@@AlexSIE95 By tier do you mean which armor set? Since I main tank I went with HAZARD which pairs well with the Sheath of Light rune and makes you tankier because the stats! For the rest of the set, I pretty much use the items listed on the Zockify Shockadin Tank BiS list, but I use 'Grubbis Grubby Gauntlets' and 'Welded Truesilver Ringlets' instead of what they listed. I also use fiery enchant instead of Dismantle, because I loved using the Thorns Paladin build back in the day. I am just missing the epic melee ring from the last boss which I keep losing! You can look me up on Warcraft Logs under Kurixis - Living Flame.
I may not be the best to ask though, because I am still learning and came to this video hoping to find that same info that day but just decided to go with what I thought was right. However, it's the same set my other Shockadin main tank friend uses, and his logs are amazing but he is in a more hardcore guild than I am!! I am just figuring it out as I go along. Thankfully my guild is super friendly, but say they love when I tank, so I guess I am doing okay 😁 I tell them they are my guinea pigs!!

I like being able to kite somehow as a tank to basically speed run and avengers shield helps with that.
Deep prot is really fun with SoM and fishing for crits, same with 16 in holy and the rest in prot. Using the electrocutioners needle feels really good and proc its chance on hit alot.
It’s so cool they made shockadin a real spec. When I played classic era I had a healer in my guild that ran a shockadin spec for pvp so it’s cool they made it a reality.

Also to note divine favor and holy shock heal with art of war is a good mana cd too.
i hope they give really good runes for tank talents troughout entire games and make bosses absolutly untankable without, sadly and paladin included the protection talents dont offer much even in therm of mitigation goign full prot with holy shield barely changes anything unless they make you reliably cap block to avoid crushing blows and if u have enough defense to be crit immune. Sod has the chanche of giving tank a role and a reason to exists in classic.
What are your thoughts on pally tank with sheath of light + sacred shield?

Great video. A question: for the 2h spec woulnd't u want 5/5 Parry for the autoattack resets instead of 3/5 seals and 2/2 speed?
Speed is nice to always have imo. We don’t get the speed from bfd buff anymore so it’s great to have, ESPECIALLY on thermaplugg p1.
Imo it’s just nice to have anything be reduced mana slightly, but you could definitely put it into parry
For whatever reason Paladin mains love movement speed; maybe a PvP mindset, which is secondary to me. I never picked it up, I tank thermaplig every run, and I don't get hit during kite phase. That phase was designed to be avoidable without movement speed enhancement anyway. I run 5/5 parry and don't miss movement speed, so IMO it's all about personal preference and playstyle. If you're doing any PvP with the spec, I'd 100% get the movement speed though.
@@belavet because paladins have not gapcloser or movementspeed whatsoever. Warriors can intervene and charge which resulted in many paladins being pissed that they can be kited so easily in pvp.
I think I need to fix my spec or something. I was doing fine spamming sm doing massive pulls with holy/prot build. Gnomer my threat felt really bad. Maybe it was because the group was pulling things before I got to the mob I am not sure, but I’ll definitely be trying out some of these suggestions

On the Holy Prot spec, would dropping one point in Imp Righteous Fury and putting it in Kings make sense? 10% stats to entire raid is pretty powerful.
You’d only need kings if you didn’t have a hunter in your group, since they have a chest run (Heart of the Lion) that provides the same buff.
Full prot with SOM (excpt menagerie => divine) / exorcisme for my part and solo tanking gnomer.

Infusion of light needs THIS buff.
Your Sor and consec have a chance equal to your spell crit chance to deal dmg a 2nd time. Your holy shock deals 25% increased damage and its cooldown is reset whenever any of your offensive holy spells crit
Guarded by the light: needs to additionally convert 30% ish of your int to spell DMG. Not stackable with Sheathe
I'll try this out tomorrow. It's been really hard to find a group for gnomer as melee. I literally just did gnomer after spamming for 40 minutes (1hr 10mins previous lock-out). It had 3 hunters, mage, moonkin, ot warlock tank, hpal, hpriest, mt rogue, ret pal (me). People are avoiding melee like the plague.

I wish it was a viable DPS option for shockadin but as of now deep ret with crowdpummler/jackhammer + SoM reigns supreme.
You can still run Shockadin with ACP and do some pretty solid damage! It’s pretty good actually
Will you make a p3 Paladin vid any time soon?
I’m going to try and get one out after the first week or so.
I will say, nothing much will change except for the ret build getting consecration. And a new tune ability (I won’t spoil it unless u want me to or know about it) will make aoe tanking super fun and easy

I would keep the same ret talents and then build into consecrate. Since we don’t know where the new runes are, I can’t justify going into consecrate immediately. New runes will create some fun aoe builds, but single target will remain roughly the same
I thought about making another video before p3 but just don’t have the time for it (maybe I’ll change my mind lol). Luckily, it doesn’t seem like much will change for this next phase, just like I said, an aoe vs ST build. Looks to be really fun! I think I’ll have a p3 guide much quicker than p2

You guys are so late to the show on Holy Shockadin. I wanted to dps with it but sadly it's a sub par caster dps in melee range at this time. The crit fishing with martyrdom and art of war, the guaranteed crit combo of divine favor into holy shock, etc. makes it fun and keeps it interesting. All I have for gear is Golden Scale and spell power off pieces as the gear you want is actually Shockforged, spell power and sp/ap crit to fish those procs.
You want hazard gear. Since sheath of light converts AP to SP. as a tank, you also want strength as well. You are still a combination of physical and spell power.
IMO Divine Intellect is a bait, you have around 50 base intellect so you get 1 int per point, better take Improved Seal of Righteousness. Playing with Sheath of Light is nice, and give a lot of SP so you want max STR on gear.
There’s no need for it at all with SoM getting buffed form improved SoR
I have yet to find a damn ret or pally guide for rotations while leveling...I just got back from a small break and have no idea about which runes and seals to use and a proper rotation in season 2 of SoD. Everything is about damn raiding even if i search for PALADIN LEVELING GUIDE
Rotation for ret is just hit button off cooldown. nothing crazy

It’s not a great pvp spec by any means. Solely for pve
Not all players are created equal sadly.
It's a great spec but requires proper use of Consumables and your Abilities.
If you use Devo aura and a Stoneshield potion you have near equal mitigation to any other paladin tank spec.
And If you are dwarf you can add in stoneform every 3mins for 8seconds.
Anything on top of that is pretty much overkill especially for a lvl 40 raid.
Not to mention, Its the most fun spec in my opinion that the paladin currently has

you’re in this bad spec for tanking, you tank for only one reason - you have very well-dressed healers, but you can’t even imagine what it costs them to heal you on the 5th and 6th boss
you also use a rune that itself damages you, while playing as a tank....
Another minus is BOS and Holly Shield, it punches you through the last bosses like paper. Once again I offer my condolences to the healers in the raid! If someone in the comments decides to write that prot paly don’t have a threat - please take the pills, and if you have drunk then go for a new recipe, since the old one no longer helps you.

@@JurdiJD I don’t go with the guild, I’m not a streamer, I go with the randoms players when I want and when I have the opportunity. I myself play as a paladin, and I understand perfectly why I wrote to you. Minus 14 from all sources you don’t get it because there is no tank buff, +30 You don’t have a % increase in block chance after receiving a crit, since you don’t have any runes or talents, you don’t have a +30% tank block buff either. You don’t have +10% armor from wearable equipment. You’re lucky that you have super strong healers!
But don’t you think about the fact that not everyone has their own opinion and critical thinking. There are a lot of weak-minded people who don’t read talents and abilities and simply focus on streamers. But at the same time, when such a body goes in such a spec as you showed in the raid, there will be there are a lot of wipes, for one reason - he may not have over-gear healers. In fact,when having over-gear healers fury warriors tank great)

Depends on your group and your play style my group likes me solo tanking not losing threat to anyone while wearing the tankiest stuff possible and I'll usually take some consumes cuz why not
Edit: I went full prot week one been 31/0/0 ever since. Even in full pugs 2 times cuz I missed guild run.
