Kakashi Hatake is one of the strongest naruto characters to ever exist but did you know his father is actually a lot stronger than fans realize? Here’s how strong Sakumo Hatake was in his prime as the white fang before he killed himself. We learn in naruto’s manga that not only was this guy a beast during the second ninja war, still being hated and feared by sand shinobi decades after the war, but we also learn that his power was stronger than that of the collective legendary sannin. That’s no small feat either. The legendary sannin in base were each relative to 69 year old hiruzen who fought Orochimaru and the first naruto fanbook directly states their collective power was equal to the five kage from naruto part 1, so: Onoki, the 4th raikage, Yagura, Rasa, and 69 year old Hiruzen. This is why in the third ninja war, long after he was dead, stone shinobi saw Kakakshi’s white hair and blade and were briefly scared thinking he was the dreaded white fang before realizing kakashi was only a child. Kakashi’s dad was a monster.
The only thing that defeated Sakumo was depression.

I could technically say the same for Hiruzen, his clan excels in Fire Release… and uh, I think that’s it. The rest the members do, like Asuma and Konohamaru, is pure skill - do correct me if I missed something about the Sarutobi clan though

@@UniCops naw, it doesn't. It's usually just Senju, Uchiha and Uzumaki that have really high chakra reserves though our their family.
For others it's kinda rare or they have a kekki genkai that requires them to have a certain amount.
Other people said to have high chakra are kinda spread thin.
Jiraiya, Minato, the Sarutobi clan... they just regular dudes with monster chakra levels.

one interesting detail about him also that people don't think about is the fact that obito ask kakashi "hey, who do you think would win in a fight, the white fang or the yellow flash?", obito asking this might very well imply that konoha think of their strength as being on the same level, Obito wouldn't ask if everyone knew the answer

@@sirajuddinfar617 if minato is said to be on par with first hokage which is above Madara which is above the five hokage .. minato > sakumo hatake ( high dif) minato was so impressive that he made his sensei his student 👩🏽🎓 at some point just like Boruto there was nothing left for jiraiya to teach .. he mastered sage mode and didn’t show it because he didn’t need it to defeat opponent except higher threat
@tedcleverman2826 I'm not sure Minato was equal or relative to the first, maybe the second but not Hashirama.
Both Minato and Naruto have similarities to him but Tobirama saw all 3 of them in action. Naruto was seen as the closest to Hashirama.
The fourth is more directly comparable to the second. Tobirama, I think, even says that Minato is basically a faster version of himself.
@@blakpulp1366I like this take, I feel like Naruto is a stronger up close combatant but Hashirama has the more useful and destructive jutsu (mostly just his healing and wood clones, everything else is similar but Naruto outclasses in output thanks to Kurama, and his Uzumakk bloodline)
I think the white fang has a Minato effect on the battlefield that you just know not to mess with him or underestimated him

It's crazy when you realize how many ridiculously powerful ninja Konoha had during the same time - Sakumo, Might Dai, Jiraya, Tsunade and Orochimaru, Fugaku, Itachi and Shisui, Minato and then you have clans that could stealthily decimate entire armies like the Aburame clan with their bugs or Nara clan with their shadow possession especially if they cooperated with sensory or intelligence ninja like the Yamanaka or Hyuga where they don't have to reveal their position.

We had time, they just preferred lazy filler. They could’ve took our 40 episodes of

I agree about wanting a prequel. I found the flashbacks much more interesting than what was going on with Naruto’s generation.
What’s crazy is when Minato said the legendary sannin paled in comparison to him. It’s like the only person I could think of that was that good compared to the sannin was hanzo. So he could potentially be hanzo level or greater, depending on how you look at it.
When did minato say that?

They say that minato was a talent that appeared once a generation. The white fang was that talent that appeared the generation before
Sakumo Hatake should have been the 4th Hokage, Hiruzen should have given the hat to him following the 2nd Great Ninja War!
Hiruzen held onto the title like any true despot, until he died. He only stepped down to "take blame for the 3rd war" and he took the position back a year later. He didn't ever pick a 5th Hokage after he got the job back. If I was an average citizen or citizen of another nation, I'd think Hiruzen planned the 9 tails attack just so he could get back in power after "stepping down" for only a year to make himself look like a hero. Like, there's plenty of room for questions to be asked there.
Really, Minato should've named a 5th Hokage when he asked Hiruzen to take care of his son, but Sakamo should've been named Hokage long before Minato's time. Imagine if Sakumo was the 4th Hokage, Minato the 5th, Fugaku the 6th. Would've been a wild timeline to have an Uchiha be Hokage for the sake that he could use his Sharingan to control the 9 tails to protect the village from possible future attacks or the seal breaking. I'd love to see a manga on that alternate timeline

@@shodaikitetsu7633 a bit, but Tsunade did become Hokage when she was much older than Sakumo would've been at the time, so ehh. I mean, definitely wasn't in the best age range for it though, that is true. They usually are younger shinobi. Maybe Hiruzen was just Hokage too long already to miss someone like him

Kakashi got the perspective he needed to face Obito. And Sakumo finally moved on to the spirit realm.
Though the funniest thing about the Hatake clan is that they’re literally just the shinobi worlds equivalent of Batman they’re all just natural born tacticians and strategists who wield a blade that can emit and slash things from a range with chakra at the speed of light
That statement is not taking into consideration their prime. Orochiramu stated against Hiruzen that his immortality jutsu was a decade old and Tsunade told Orochiramu she got her byakugo seal recently when the 3 of them fought, the only one that might have already been in his prime at the time waz Jiraiya. Orochiramu also got his snake senjutsu chakra after leaving konoha to add more to his defence.
I wanna see more of the old beasts doing combat in their youth, like Hiruzen with Enma just mowing down enemies, we need more Minato in his prime like what exactly happened at the bridge after he arrived, and of course the White Fang.
Shisui and Sakumo need their flowers, dudes dies so we could have dope characters like Kakashi and Itachi.
Sakumo is my top favorite anime character. He taught his son the most valuable lesson that friends are more important than anything else. He didn’t have any and took his own life. It’s a deep lesson we can all learn from. His son was traumatized from it but overcame it and paid the lesson forward to his students. His son is the goat because of him.
The nail in the coffin was the person he saved also turned on him.
And it proves that the people he was around was the scum Kakashi spoke about.

We need a prequel of Naruto with the backstories of all legendary characters being shown and it needs to be animated by MAPPA.
Everyone tries to explain how strong the White Fang was by comparing him to all these other Shinobi but forget to mention that the White Fang was regarded as one on paar with the yellow flash of the leaf, proving how goated he was.

Yeah he the problem is, he's one of those characters who has no feats we just get statements saying, "He was stronger than the Sanin"
Statements don't automatically go out the window, particularly if the person making them is reliable.

I think the real problem is that Kishi created so many good characters that a gang of them could have their own show or at least a good book. I think that's actually kind of rare.
It's not possible to flesh them all out or give them all screen time. We could've at least gotten a good fight from some of these legends. Especially if a one shot or episode was of a fight between two of the legends.
Toss in some bystanders that will live to tell the tail and these characters hey instant coverage on their feats with a reliable witness.

To be fair even Hanzo was stronger than the 3 collective sanin during the shinobi war and he died to pain who said he would have lost to jiraiya if he knew about the truth of his technique before hand. So we dunno if white fang was stronger than the young sannin or the olders more mature sannin.
Jiraiaya that fought pain was way stronger. Remember when Jiraiaya fought Pain he had Sage mode. He didn't have Sage Mode against Hanzo.
Hanzo had fell off. The version Pain fought was weaker than the Hanzo who fought the 3 survivors of legend.
That's really all the title stands for. He's just saying that those three survived a fight with him. Lol 😆
But yeah that was an Orochimaru vs Hiruzen fight except this Orochimaru won. Had Pain attempted to fight Hanzo earlier in life, he'd most likely have lost.
The White Fang was stronger than the 3 Sannin in the time they were all alive. After Sakumo’s death, all three kept growing significantly stronger, especially Jiraya and Orochimaru. Aint NO WAY in hell Sakumo is stronger than the sannin in Shippuden era. Pretty sure Jiraya at his peak could manhandle Sakumo without getting too roughed up in the process.
@@MidianVGC We dont know the peak of Sakumo's power so there's really no point in guessing... But yeah it would make sense that Jiraiya was far weaker in the 2nd Shinobi War.
No Hanzo wasn't strong he was intelligent which earned him a seat after surviving. But he was average in strength well war time strength
It feels like every other ninja nowadays is way stronger than kage level. I remember when Kage was this rare unobtainable level of power.
Depression killed him the same way ninja cancer killed itachi because they were too OP otherwise.
That comparison was made when the Sanin were not quite at their strongest though.

@@StrengthAndNerdStuff Base form yes, but also about 20 years younger and prior to the start of the series, and weaker compared to when they were first introduced. I guess the point I'm making is at the point of that comparison the legendary sanin were probably still Jonin level in their early 30s and not quite quite Kage level yet like when they were introduced in the series.

In the past, Kishimoto were being asked who's the strongest Shinobi or from the strongest and he answered "The White Fang". So sad we didn't get any episodes about him back when he was fighting or his character. This is also proof why Kakashi was so strong and genius for his kid age.

I really want to see an OVA telling Sakumo’s story from his perspective. It can have some good action fears that show his strength in comparison to Jiraiaya, Orochimaru, or Tsunade at the time.

If I recall correctly his reputation was way much larger than the reputation of the Sannin, it was never stated that he was a lot stronger then them.

The Sannin during Naruto and Shippuden were much stronger than they were when Minato said that 20ish years earlier, so don’t make the mistake of thinking he was stronger than them during the present of Naruto. He was strong, but people seem to overestimate exactly how strong off that statement by Minato. He was likely similar to Hanzo who took on all 3 Sannin when they were younger, but still famous for their strength and clearly overmatched them. Hanzo was was very powerful, but he still got clapped by Nagato in the end, so let’s not pretend that Sakumo was invincible.

We need more information about the previous generations of Naruto in the form of one shot mangas or light novels. There are literally so many characters and so many things to explore in the previous generations.
How to spot a strong Legend: Either they sacrificed themselves in battle after fighting for days, they died of old age, died of mysterious illness or killed themself.
That's how I knew that The White Fang was HIM.

I would have loved to see him reanimated! It would have been a great way to go into his back story and learn more about him. He would have had a lot of interesting interactions with kakashi, chiyo, sasori, maybe danzo, maybe the leaf counsel, maybe other villages. Definitely a missed opportunity.
Imagine how busted Kakashi would be if Sakumo lived long enough to properly train him.
