Oh my goodness. This is genius! I think ive spent over 2 months blasting crappy emails to everyone, complaining that it didnt get opened. Thank you so much man. Ive been learning how to edit short form super well, and thought this was all going to waste. I love u bro. Gonna start doing this tomorrow.
Lets do this together. Im having this issue too

ill tell you right now this is good advice, I gave sample videos the wrong way and I just gave it through discord dms or otherwise privatly, but doing it publicly on twitter on my second try I got two clients, and none of them was even the guy I was outreaching too, one of them if offering $17.5 per final video minute so if I edited a 9 minute video for him id get $156, btw, these are my first ever clients, like ive never edited for anyone before, seriously listen to this guy
That's amazing news man, just shows the power that one small switch can make. Congrats on the success so far and I know you'll get much more! :)

One thing that prevents me from reaching out to channels is that I see they already have high quality edits way better than mine…
I know exactly what you mean. I tend to avoid those ones. Luckily there's more than enough creators out there that even if you're only at an okay level of editing, you can still find clients whose edits aren't yet up to your standard.

having connections is one of the most important things
Super important. I came into the game with 0 connections but now I've built up solid connections and understand the important of having good people around you. So much easier.
@@sampdbiz it really is
I appreciate the teaser to what I am sure is going to be some great content. You already gave up some golden nuggets in this one video so I am excited to see what else you are going to have to offer. I recently decided to level up my editing in hopes of gaining some freelance work so this video is very timely. New sub.
Thanks Paul, I appreciate the kind words. Sounds exciting with regards to levelling up with your editing. What's your biggest problem with it at the moment? I can make some content around it.
-Sam
@@sampdbiz Thanks for the offer. My biggest problem up until now was just my computers capability. I started on Camtasia and then moved to Davinci and my computer just couldn’t handle the bandwidth. The lag was horrible but I fixed that. I’d like to see some more business side of editing things from you because there are plenty of channels that teach editing. Maybe how to build an effective website, how I can promote myself, how to search for potential clients and things like that specific to freelance editors.
Thanks for the great suggestions Paul. That's the exact niche I've had in mind, I will no-doubt do a FEW technical 'how-to' editing videos, but I'm almost 95% focusing on the business behind editing/ freelancing so it sounds like you're in luck. Tons of videos coming soon, next one's out tomorrow! Thanks for the support.
What about a content for those who wants to start with low end PC. Or editing with low end PC. Do they have a chance to be a freelancer? Is capcut a good software to start? Is there any client who is looking for any editors that uses capcut? I dont see any topics around this topic. They don't take capcut seriously as a nice video editing software and I wonder if it has a capability to do the same edits for short form content like ali abdal, alex hormozi or any popular channels. Bcoz im sure capcut can do it.
I've seen people to super well with Capcut and create some cool edits, but to be honest there is a limit on how much you can do with it. You're automatically one step ahead and a level up if you were to switch to Premiere Pro, Davinci etc
Thank you, this was incredibly helpful!
No problem at all, thanks for watching! :)
Thank you so much for your video I learned a lot! Still looking for my very first client but now I feel like im about to get one. Anyways I just hit the subscribe button to be updated on your videos
Thank you for watching, and best of luck with your first client! Keep me updated with how it goes :)
Did you find one?
do you think people are willing to hire Vegas Pro editors? I still use many motion graphics and effects
I'm not too familiar with the software to be honest, but 70% of it is the skill of the editor, I would say only 30% is software.
@@sampdbiz okay thanks
what subscriber range should i look for in a potential client? or does it not matter? Plus nice video
Anywhere from 50k/100k subs to 5M subs is realistic, and make sure their channel is on the UP, not declining or hardly any views.
@@sampdbiz ok thanks
Hey, thanks for this. Im actually hopeless and tend to not pursue my editing journey since i feel hopeless to not have that client. Ive made couple of sample videos but no client tend to like it and it really make me feel Video editor is not for me. But since, I watched your video. Hope is coming again tapping my back. Sooo Ill be back here if I made a difference. Thanks!
Keep at it, get that hope coming back and get back in the game, good luck my friend!
Very Informative & detail video Bro!
Thank you bro! Glad you found it valuable.
Editing for corporations is a lot more profitable I have found, they actually have endless streams of money. Most RUclipsrs are poor and can’t afford this service
So true, big/ well paid RUclipsrs and businesses are great clients 👍
Love this video. Thank you. Question though, what would be your approach when you are looking to bring on a business as opposed to another RUclipsr. Would finding out the right person in charge of this be the right method and following what you said?
Thank you! And yes, same process - find a way to add value upfront.
@@sampdbiz Yup thought so. Appreciate the clarity.

Hey sam, how do i build connection. I started 2 months a go i have 3 clients, i want to build connections and stuff but the thing is i cant ask for a shout-out it makes me seem unprofessional and for some reasons my clients doesn't wanna interact with my posts on Twitter.
I am very struggling on this part
Treat X like networking on a 1-1 basis, engage with other editors and RUclipsrs in a meaningful way. Like their posts, leave comments, follow them etc and they will return the favour and become your friend - who will engage with your content and therefor push it out to more people.
Thanks for some pro tips bro
No worries man! Glad you enjoyed.

Hello Sam, I just joined your program today! let's see how it goes!!
Glad to hear it, drop me a message over on Skool if there’s anything I can do to help and I’ll pick it up tomorrow:)
Yes I was hesitating but I joined along with the viral formula @sampdbiz !! Ok, I am an English teacher trying to transition over to a content creator/video editor... beginning for me! I needed it because I just couldn't figure out where to start and I just start taking an offline illustrator course, so perfect for me to learn from you - photoshop and primier pro.. together.. then later, I am signed up offline for after effect so.. this year would be a investing year for me..
Sounds great, exciting new beginnings! Best of luck on your journey and I’m here to help you every step of the way :)
@sampdbiz Thanks Sam! My goal is make myself so great that we can enter Korean market! Lol! One day! Anyways , I will talk to you through our academy forum!
can you please tell how much one should charge for short form content editing or at least could you mention a fair price range for it?
There’s no correct answer here but average is anywhere from $30-$150 per short, depending on tons of factors.
Where would you find raw footage for the creator you want to edit for?
You can find it on podcasts, their old videos or some creators just have raw unedited videos to start with! It only needs to be 30 seconds or so.
Some of us may be doing video editing as part time just to make a quick buck. So, therefore it is hard to have a huge capital when starting. This includes a nice pc. Can we do all these above mentioned techniques on phone too? ( Considering you know what you're doing)
Hi there, I have seen people do this on mobile, you just have to start out a lot slower. I know of an 11 year old kid who edits on his mum's phone, then got enough clients/money to buy a laptop. Yes gear matters to a certain extent, but don't worry about it too much.
I made a video on how to start editing with $0 here: ruclips.net/video/m1jCbc5s3WY/видео.html
Hey Really Nice Video, And The Editing Is Amazing!
Thank you, much appreciated :)
hey man, i just want to ask a question:
On one of my other accounts, I do post edits of other things like shows or whatever, but if i still kept that up, while deleting a few and changing my profile picture, to just leave behind a bunch of decently high-quality edits, and I still emailed them under the name that I use (I prefer to stay largely anonymous) would that be effective? I am willing to give up a bunch of things, but I genuinely don't want to give up the edits that I actually enjoy doing, and my anonymity, so thanks in advance
Yes that would work well, you should keep the edits your passionate about on your profile if you want to!
alright then thank you very much for your reply, will try some of this stuff in the future@@sampdbiz

Where can I add an edited sample video in email?
Just use Google Drive bro! Attach your video to the email and it will upload to Google Drive automatically.
@@sampdbiz Thanks Sam 🙏
how do you get the raw footage of the video of the creator
It’s just a case of finding it. It could be a podcast, old video, new video, video from their website or social media pages etc. You only need 30 seconds + so most creators have that somewhere!
I get paid $28 per reel (very simple not complicated) and I dont know if that is low or high bro what do you think?
It's not awful, if they're simple to do and you could do 2-3 per hour then your hourly rate is quite good. But then add on time dealing with the client etc and it could get lower. All in all I think you could find clients to pay you more or raise that price more.
How can i get clients for short form editing
5:12 wouldn't this look unprofessional to the visitors on your profile
Good point, perhaps it could - or maybe it'd make you seem dedicated and driven. If you're worried about it, you could post a few other posts inbetween to make sure your posts aren't all outreach!
@sampdbiz btw i need your help currently i am not using any domain, i was cold emailing at least 10 people a day and now i can't mail anyone it is saying mail blocked (message rejected) is this something i should worry about?
Yes you should worry if your emails are getting blocked lol. Email from a new domain/email.
@@sampdbiz huh😬 what should I do to fix it?

how to charge for long form video some time it is 5min 10 min 12 min 20 min please answer this
Hey bro, I'm dropping a video on this tomorrow! :) It will help you
buddy nowadays a middlemen is getting very common between client and an editor , i am new in freelancing so should i work for someone like this? but my gut says i should approach directly to the client through emails and DMs like you said.
Try both and see what works, but I’d personally rather work directly with the creator rather than through an agency.
Nah, basically scamming someone is going to 100% ruin you're career, it's more damaging for the creator to lose everything they have in social media than to pay you a couple bucks
Thank so much I didn't have any idea of this but from now on I know exactly what to do.
Glad to hear it bro!

Your videos are well edited, you just need to use X as a networking tool as you're starting out. You can't just create an account, start posting and hope your audience finds you. You have to get the ball rolling. Start engaging with people in the niche (editors and RUclipsrs) in a meaningful way and they will support your posts and push them out to more people. Do 10 mins of engaging/networking on X for 2 weeks and continue posting and you'll have big results.
You can post the beat content in the world but as your account is very small, X algorithm doesn't know who to show it to. So do the above to gain momentum quickly.
Got it bro?

Thank you, and no problem - I will do.
would the clients be bothered about me downloading their videos?
No not at all really, you're using it for a genuine purpose to add value to them! People rip off their videos and re-upload them to TikTok for profit and 9 times out of 10 they don't even care about that.
@@sampdbiz Thank you! Haven't found any raw unedited footage yet. Will keep looking.👍🏼
Hey great vidéo i just wanted to know how to get a few hundreds followers on Twitter ??
Great question! Treat it at networking: Find people in your community (RUclipsrs or editors) and impactfully engage with them. Don't spam, but like multiple posts, leave comments, follow them, DM them - build relationships with people in the community and they will support your posts as you're starting out and push it to a wider audience!
@sampdbiz ok but if i post something now (i have 2 followers) do you think People that dont follow me Will see it
Thank you for your help !
No problem! And It's unlikely with that little followers. Doing what I mentioned above forces X to show your posts to the right people, if you post without doing what I mention above, you are posting to no one!

Hey man, how come it’s not practical for you?
Thanks a lot for the video man 🙏 but i’m struggling finding clients for short form content editing even tho i’m a hard worker , whenever i try to find a client they just want to pay 5$ for 10 shorts which is ridicules and it takes me 2-3 hours to edit one short whenever i tell them 20$ per short they don’t like the price
There's a lot more money in longform if you're willing to make the switch. Realistically you'd get paid better for the time and effort you're putting in. With regards to pricing, I'd just say offer a free sample upfront but make sure those that you're giving your free sample out to would be in the position to want a shortform editor. Think entrepreneurs, businesses etc.
Best of luck on your journey bro!
