This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 7 months ago about self development. Now I have 719 subs and > 200 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

This is huge W video. and my input is, it's about to give VALUE! Make the videos for free before you even ask to work for free. make 3-5 or even more videos. make shorts, include thumbnail. Then reach out to the client you want to work with. Give them the material for free. They didn't take any risk at all and see you really want to work with them. i did it myself with 0 experience.

It’s so hard to find decent editors because everyone is generic and often many use the same style and techniques and are just one trick ponies. Adaptable editors with a variety of styles is rare. Good editing is not just ‘technique’ but involves skills like pace, storytelling etc.
Those are what you call exceptional editors. Multi skilled editors who could be content creators themselves. Those sorts of people usually come with a hefty price tag. You prepared to pay big for big quality?
As a video marketing agency owner, the main problem with the editors is their vision, if as an editor people just look to earn money, then you will get no clients. Whenever working with clients, I make sure to understand their vision which should be practically achievable and measurable. Ofcourse it takes time but with experience we learn more!

Instead of just showing a portfolio, edit the client's videos or obtain raw material from a project to present in practice with a personal touch, showcasing how you work. Not only does it serve as a portfolio, but it also earns the client's consideration for surprising them with a good and free video.

I'm from Brazil, and I started exploring the metaverse through cinematic productions. It was practically a year of creating the need for the product on streamers before actually selling the product. Instead of approaching the big ones and offering free videos, I did that with the smaller ones to encourage the work of the little guys. The consequence of this was that the big ones saw good work and finally approached me with the question: How much does it cost? It took 365 days, the tip is, believe it!
If we're throwing 'infinite' around like it's parsley, then we all have, had, and will have the largest amount of clients imaginable in the smallest amount of time imaginable to exhausting extremes (and you 're using Vegas in some of those branches/sprigs of thyme)

@redstoneditz Personaly i would recommend you to focus on school and your editing skills first, try improving a lot rn becouse 13 is a very young age and in many countries it would be illegal for you to find a job as an editor anyway. Try to get enough knowledge of editing in the mean time so if you want to go for this passion you will be able to at the age of 16 or 18 - but don't forget to learn for school in the meantime either.

I have a list of potential client in a specific niche. Can i re-edit a video of one of them potential ones and if the one i picked does not respond i can use that video as an example to other clients yet to respond?
The last thing you mentioned on the work flow related so on that all we can do is just save presets to use it next time and when you gotta create something similar then you can just consume your time by using those presets , even i do it pretty often . Making same thing over and over dosen't make sense when you can just complete that in 2 min and instead make something new in the process.
