    I`ve never done a book, but I`d like to and this video is so comprehensive and easy to understand I`m now going to put together my first book project. Thank you Ms Kost for posting this.

    Perfect timing for an excellent book module tutorial. Last week I gave up on making a book using this module because I was overwhelmed.
    Thanks.

    Thank you for such a clear explanation on how to make a book using Lightroom! It really has helped me. Much appreciated.

    Very interesting lesson. Great help. Thank you. Two questions: 1. is it possible to define a particular photocell size, e.g., 10x12cm? 2. Is it possible to put in photo text cell EXIF data (e.g., picture creation date)?

    Briiliant and long overdue so many thanks. IMHO this is an ignored module in LR and it shows - and I do find a few "neglect" bugs every now and then.

    Thank you for this in-depth video. Can you also use this process to publish a book on Amazon KDP? Other videos show Adobe In-Design for the layout so I was curious if I needed In-Design or if Lightroom was enough for KDP?

    Great Tutorial!!! How do you organize your images within a collection? You stated that all your images are in order and you can just hit auto and add all of the images in the correct order...How is that done?

    I like the video as it did show me a few things I had not figured out yet. My question is how to deal with hundreds of photos for a single book and the photos are not all the same size. I have not found anyone that has shown anything for this compacity

    Thank You for your video! I am having problems in consistently setting a Title in the Page Text. My album pages have titles and i am placing the titles in the Page Text field and justified to the right. Because text set on the right goes into the binding i want to leave some 3 or 4 spaces at the end so the title (right justified) so that it ends in 4 spaces to allow clear view of the title. There are three settings: Cell, Type and Text that interact with the title. I don't seem to understand how they interact. I would appreciate if i could be shown how to accomplish the goal. In a 80 page album i have that many titles to set. This is my 4th book and i spend considerable time setting these titles. Any help is appreciated! Thank You Frank Pierce

    Two part question here ...Is there a way to use the book module with other vendors besides Blurb? If not, is there a way to set up a specific size book so when i export it as a PDF, I could easily upload it to a different vendor? Thanks!

    Question! Do I need to process raw images before designing the book and uploading to Blurb or can I just edit the images and design the book with the RAWs and then push the upload to Blurb button? Thank you! Great video!

      @@dirkoffringa917 You do Not! Since asking this question I have done a blurb book and by simply pressing the “Send Book to Blurb” button it’s all done and the book looks great. Same deal with output the book as PDF. No need to process raw images just lay out the book using RAWs and make adjustments to them accordingly.

    I struggle each year doing books using Shutterfly. As long as I'm a Lightroom user, this option looks more friendly for this user.
    Thanks for the video - it looks more manageable to me.

    Great tutorial, thanks Julieanne. How about, if I don't want to print and just keep the book but have it converted to a flip book type? What type of dedicated s/w there is to do that in an open format and to be saved locally on my computer?

    I may have figured this out. I can just move them in the grid view of the actual collection. It seemed in the past that they did not stay that way. I'm trying again!😀🤣😂

    Can you add clip art to pages or on top of photos? For instance, by pasting into a text box?

    • @jkost
      @jkost  Год назад +1

      I believe that you would need to save the clip art as a JPEG or PNG so that LrC would treat it as an image...(FYI - I tried saving and then adding a PNG with transparency in a cell in the book module but it looks like LrC flattens it in the book so I got a while background behind the image that filled the cell).

      @@jkost Thanks so much! My wife insists on adding cute “stickers” to my chagrin. Maybe we’ll do initial book in LR and import pages into Shutterfly. I see such an advantage to using LR to create the book. By the way, your training is unbelievably good. You’re so knowledgeable and detailed.

    How does one ensure the color/print quality from image to image? (proofing??)

    • @jkost
      @jkost  Год назад +4

      John, as you most likely already know, you should calibrate your monitor and then you can use the soft proofing option in LrC's develop module. However I don't know if you can download a profile from blurb for the exact precision that you need. The Blurb software has additional options if you prefer to use it to layout your book, but what I like about using LrC is that if I need to make changes to images (for example, when I put two on the same page, I often need to adjust the color temperature of one to make them more unified) and being able to make these changes in the Develop module and have them auto-update in the Book module without having to export new files to be uploaded is a timesaver for me. Best regards, -j

    How do you put a title on cover spine

  • @EmileVerhijden

    I love your blogs. But the functionality in LR is bad compared to Pixellu Smart Albums and/or Fundy. Is outdated in my opinion.....

    • @amsivertson
      @amsivertson Год назад +1

      It was never meant to be at that level. It was designed only to be a consumer-lever shortcut to produce directly to Blurb albums only. Cheap & easy & basic, and that was it.
