    Quick edit on this one. This coating has a long flash time. I ended up leaving it on the glass for 8 minutes and then came back to wipe it off. This is an extremely easy to use coating as seen on the video. Stay tuned as I work through the paint coatings and wheel coating. Also these are nano diamond and polymer composite coatings. And not ceramic coatings. Skip to the 21:16 mark if only interested in the coating application.

    Hi! My name is Tony! I'm an Ambassador for Diamond ProTech. Great Video! I wanted to say, in our testing we have occasionally experienced issues using other prep products with our coatings. Some work fine, while some produced some less than ideal results. To be on the safe side, using Diamond ProTech Prep products with our coatings will give you the best results! And Yes, the Body Prep and Glass Prep are different! Excited to see your future videos!

      Thank you for this information and for watching. One question I did have is the though of using any of the paint coatings with what are referred to a primer polish that contains SiO2 such as CarPro Essence or Gyeon Q2 Primer.

    • @diamondprotech
      @diamondprotech 2 года назад +4

      @@MikeGDetailing You want an absolutely bare paint surface for the Diamond ProTech coatings to bond to. Like you said in your video, it's all in the prep! Using a polish that may leave SiO2 behind could negatively impact the coating and its ability to bond. I'd recommend against it, and be sure to use Diamond Body Prep to get any remaining oils/residue off the paint prior to application. - Tony

    Great video. I’ve just recently applied Diamond Glass (bought the kit). Application was fairly straight forward. I agree with you that this coating is not slick at all, would best describe it as ‘smooth’ and that primarily when wiping/cleaning glass with a TRC FTW towel and either P&S Absolute RW 256:1 or CarPro Clarify - dry wiping with a towel has been tacky.
    I was afraid I would get wiper chatter given the lack of slickness and I did experience some. So I thought let me add some slick topper to an area and see what happens. This coating does not play well with what seems to be SiO2 based toppers from my personal experience - OG Drying Aid and AMMO Reflex Top Coat - smearing/rejecting/leaving the glass looking cloudy. Cleaned it up with P&S Absolute RW which fortunately removed the cloudiness/residue and left a smoother surface.
    Moving forward I won’t be topping it with anything and after a car wash just once over with Absolute diluted 256:1.
    I will be applying Diamond Body on the wife’s SUV soon, so I’m curious if Body will have the same rejection/cloudiness when using SiO2 toppers like OG Drying Aid or AMMO Reflex Top Coat. Do you have any feedback on this?

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  Год назад

      I have only used Shine Supply Throttle as a topper and that seemed to play well. Diamond Protech states there is no need for a topper. I don't think they realize the use of a drying aid and how big it is during the wash process.

    I coated my car with Gyeon view, cleaned the wipers with Gyeon Tire which were new anyway and applied the coating to the wipers and windscreen (3 layers to windscreen as advised by Gyeon). After 3 months I'm getting wiper judder🙁

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  2 года назад +1

      I’ve never used Gyeon View but is it possible it has been degraded in that 3 month time frame to warrant another application? It seems like a quick application refresh.

      I just did the Diamond wheel coating on my wheels last week. I have a 22 SS 1LE with 20x10 front and 20x11 rears. Did 2 coats on face 1 coat on barrels and 1 coat on calipers and still have half bottle left. Stuff goes a very long way and crazy easy to use. like 90% flashed off in a min and I had almost nothing left to level off.

    Applied this yesterday in 80* 70% humidity. Waiting about 10min then buffed off. Everything looks great but it doesn't feel slick like a Si02 spray coating (typically use Griots 3-1 spray) it feels more rubbery. Is that normal? Thanks

      Well unfortunately I don’t have that answer. This is for two reason. First I don’t drive this car in the rain and the second is that it rarely rains here in Southern California. It’s mostly for maintenance purposes to make washing easier for me. If I find someone else to test it then I will pos track feedback.
