An absolutely amazing restoration. In the early 60's my family of four (Mom, Dad, my brother and me) lived in an 8' x 35' house trailer for three years while Dad was on a construction job. It was cramped but we didn't know any better. When Dad traded it on a 10' x 50' trailer it was like moving into a mansion.
Very nice rebuild! I saw that movie that was playing in the background a long time ago on TV. It starred Lucille Ball and her husband, Desi Arnes. She decided to collect large rocks as souvenirs at every stop, eventually making the trailer too heavy to go up steep mountain roads. 😂 They don't make enough family-friendly programs anymore. That's why I watch a lot of old TV shows and old movies.
The Long Long Trailer it's such a classic and that you would try to haul a trailer of that size with that convertible that they had? It was a suicide run.
Very beautiful. What makes then suspectable to rot or failure if just sitting. Whats is the major cause of ceiling leaks. I can understand plumbing leaks cause its not stationary and things prone to movement being driven and jostled around.
Water will always find a way in. These trailers are aluminum siding with metal frames (Very rare) but the wood will still rot away in the rainy PNW. Most trailers are just thin aluminum sheats over a wooden frame and even if they look good, will be rotted away after 50 years, if the roof isn't sealed every ten years and the trailer kept in a heated and covered storage.
@@BossaNovaLife I know it would add to cost, Would a rubber membrane like they use on flat roofs help to prevent water penetration and also lessen condensation (the metal sweating) causing mildew and mold?
Sounds like you don't care about the people who rebult the trailers. Perhaps another channel were they just walk around with a cell phone and dont speak is your speed.
You folks should be so proud! What an incredible labor of love.

I'm not a roofing expert... but I know the one on the flat roof of our house is made to last 15 years... everything has a limit.

I love vintage trailers. Cut to the chase and show the trailer. The narrative took more time than showing the trailer.

That woman looks too young to be the mom of a 14 year old.
Rockabilly lifestyle!
