Even though I didn't like chuck E's in love I bought the record and fell in in love with her music and originality I was 19 yrs old and I still love her music I'd like to give a shout out to all the silver Foxes and golden girls out there I'll be 60yrs old next month
I agree with your positive view of a truly talented artist. I love the splendid lyrics and beautiful delivery. I'm 72 this year and still like to listen to this work of art.
I first heard "On Saturday Afternoons in 1963" in 1979 when the album "Rickie Lee Jones" was originally released and I was 20 years old and I have never forgotten it. I loved it then and at 65 I still do. "Years may go by..."
Saw her perform in Seattle…don’t remember the year…but I recall that she kinda faded from the scene. She’s talented but the venue wasn’t compatible with who and what her spirit conveys. There were many distractions and folks not paying attention. I think Earth, Wind and Fire followed….but I was thrilled to have gathered what I could from this mighty might woman. Wonderful soul. I just roam back to a easier day, an easier life, easier living. Whatever she’s doing…God bless her.
Are you OK? She's still a very active, successful artist. She's had many albums and grammys to boot. What you meant to say, is you only paid attention for one hit.😅
One of those great debuts by an artist where you chomped at the bit waiting for the follow-up, but you just knew it wouldn't be as good, the same deal with Van Halen's & Boston's debut albums, vintage!
1982 au théâtre de la mer a sete un fabuleux concert elle nous donnait en direct levolution du score entre la France et l'Allemagne coupe du minde oblige !un concert inoubliable !
@@54music2 Well it sounds great! So many albums I listen to on Y T barely have any separation in the Left and Right channels (stereo!). I'll be back a lot to listen.

Beautiful album. It was introduced to me in 1979 by my then girlfriend. She didn't stick around for long, but this album has been with me ever since.
Glad the music stayed with you.
For me it was boyfriend & I still love her. Just bought her book, "Last Chance Texaco".
