My Honda 2023 CB125F is made in China. (Pre-2022 was made in India, I believe) but even so, reliability lies in the hands of the beholder.
I destroyed my clutch at only ~7648 kilometres (4752 mi) but was that because the quality was poorer than a larger bike or because I abused the clutch doing excessive slow speed drills?
I think the entire "made in China" discourse is getting tired, especially when Honda, arguably the most reliable brand on the planet - especially known for its 125's - is sourcing production from China. At which point to we stop blaming the country and start holding individual brands and manufacturers accountable for their sh*tty quality control and cost cutting measures? Because ultimately it's the choice of the brand to allow inferior quality into their product.

I'm gonna do my A1 this year, on my Sinnis Hoodlum, which I'm sticking to because it is a bloody wonderful bike. I've had it from new (it's 9 months old), it's over 2100 miles on the clock right now. I missed the summer last year due to being on jury service.

I bought a new ktm 125 duke which I thought I'd keep for at least a couple of years as I really liked it. However after a few months experience I realised a 125s shortcomings and took my full licence test. Love the dukes so bought a 790. Could have had a new Chinese built one for 7k but opted to a three year old Austrian built one for 6k. Pragmatism or prejudice?

I stopped watching when you stated "..never buy a Chinese motorcycle..." interesting .......would you include BMW, Kawasaki and KTM in that ? All three of which have several engines made for (not by) them in China ? The year 2023 will be seen as the turning point in the industry with a new wave of 'Chinese' motorcycle brands coming into Europe, easily surpassing, in quality and design, what came before. I have just remembered that the BMW maxi-scooter is actually manufactured in China by LONCIN, the very company behind the VOGE brand. In fact the latter brand manufactures the VOGE 300 Rally that has a joint-venture 300cc engine manufactured by LONCIN in an agreement with Kawasaki. Not a licence build but a Joint Venture. Last but not least, check out the two new Harley- Davidson models launched in the US, both of which are manufactured in China by the QJ Group.
It has time that all RUclips motorcycle 'reviewers' got with the message......not parroting out of date cliches.
