  • No NPC requirements
    Poliwrath @ Damp Rock
    Ability: Swift Swim
    Tera Type: Fighting
    EVs: 220 HP / 100 Atk / 60 Def / 128 SpD
    Adamant Nature
    Drain Punch
    Bulk Up
    Rain Dance
    Amnesia
Vitamins: 22 HP Up (or Health Mochi), 10 Protein (or Muscle Mochi), 6 Iron (or Resist Mochi), 12 Zinc (or Clever Mochi)
Feathers: 8 Health Feathers, 8 Muscle Feathers, 2 Resist Feathers
Stats at lvl 100 w/ perfect IVs:
    HP : 376
    Attack: 276
    Defense : 241
    Sp.Def.: 248
    Speed : 176 (352 w/ Swift Swim active)
NPC Advantages: No requirements. intimidators (tauros, staraptor, arcanine), gardevoir (life dew, synchronize for burns), bellibolt (discharge, light screen), umbreon (thunder wave, synchronize for burns), drifblim (will-o-wisp), sylveon (charm, moonblast), arboliva (seed sower), and dudunsparce (thunder wave) are helpful.
Strategy: rain dance (renew once when it expires). wait for your stats to reset, amnsia, drain punch, 2x amnesia. bulk up. terastalize ASAP. drain punch when you need HP. 4-5 bulk up. drain punch until infernape's HP is in the 36-49% range (after swords dance, before focus energy). optional attack cheer. drain punch to victory.
Notes: taunt can be swapped in to weaken special critical hits, but if it replaces amnesia, special non critical hits will deal more damage. chilling water can replace rain dance, which helps with physical critical hits, but you get outsped, and you're more likely to be targeted by flare blitz and burned. poliwrath can be ran as water tera, which deals more damage, especially in rain. however, it loses the drain punch healing (at least as primary attack), so it's forced to rely on shell bell, heal cheers, or NPC gardevoir, or give up rain dance for rest or drain punch.
Pros: supereffective tera type matching base type, great HP and attack stats, good defense and special defense stats, outspeeds infernape when it's raining (thanks to Swift Swim ability), resists flare blitz before terastalizing, resists tera blast. no weaknesses after terastalizing. rain dance puts up rain for 8 turns (extended from 5 by damp rock). the rain halves damage from flare blitz and discourages infernape from using it, helping avoid burns. it also activates swift swim, which doubles poliwrath's speed. amnesia buffs 2 special defense stages. bulk up buffs attack 1 stage and defense 1 stage. drain punch has 75 base power, 100 accuracy, and deals supereffective STAB (tera-boosted when terastalized) damage. It heals an amount equal to 50% of damage dealt.
Cons: weak to grass knot before terastalizing
    Overall Rating: 8/10

It doesn't require Tera Shards to change Tera Type because wild Fighting Tera.Poliwhirl exists.

poliwhirl is a pure water type, it acquires the dual typing when it evolves into poliwrath. so unfortunately there's no way to catch a wild fighting tera poliwhirl or poliwrath.
