on ur point about reducing the bass in the melody. i would recommend fully removing it from the melody with a low cut rather than just decreasing it a bit bc it'll still clash with the 808s. you would also wanna do this especially when you're making drill bc you want the 808s to stand out. feel like with your point with stopping any sound from clipping isn't really a problem if you have a soft clipper on the master. most of the time you want ur kick to be clipping into the soft clipper to get that punchy sound. not sure if you can do that on ios though. w vid as always 🔥
