I have played a few high level glaive players and it’s honestly a pleasure being beat by not knowing what to do lol. Feels way worse losing a shotgun battle or getting outplayed by another sniper.
I love coming across players who essentially invent their own play style. Despite my many hours in PVP, it shows there’s still so much I could learn and be doing to have a fresh experience fighting other guardians. Also, +100 points to team Hunter for not using swarm grenades with smoke.

Hmm. I have a new thing for you to try. I was actually just about to go try it but I'll share it with a professional. Thorn plus disruption break chaos reshaped glaive. chaos reshaped x1 will make the shields break always and your follow up glaive melee will always one shot then. Additionally, you can swap to thorn for longer ranges to one shot. Thorn on hunter can be paired with facet of solitude to go invis with stylish. Poison also helps chaos reshaped for the glaive go up. Use grenade, smoke, threaded spectre (still good), and gamblers dodge. I currently plan on using spirit of ophidian and spirit of the coyote)
They sadly just have a really tiny projectile, but yeah but I know the feeling. They also don’t hav the best hit reg, especially when I tried using Judegment of Kelgorath.
@@ChessKing151 ah that checks out then I use judgement mostly cause i like being able to shoot and melee once. its definitely disappointing to watch a shot got mid body and the enemy receive no damage.
Note that sadly the PvE glaive damage buff is causing glaive melee to do less damage in PvP right now, meaning no shoot+melee combo. Also the buff isn’t even working in PvE lol. Guess that’s what happens when you lay off so many people.
Sadly the Bakris buff is only 6% in PvP, which is not enough to change any interaction. I still love using Edge of Concurrence though for its exotic perk. The reason I don’t use it as much though is it wants me to run more lucent blade mods which means less unflinching. Also it has worse stats, no impulse amplifier, and no desperate measures. Desperate measures allows for a shoot+melee kill at x2 stacks (which you proc instantly off glaive/grapple kills).
Ideally I would use it the Psi Hermetic V, but it’s a world drop and I haven’t got lucky. Also, the damage buff is too minimal to change any interaction with the glaive. So I’m just using the best rapid-fire glaive in my opinion.
Got it, didn’t realise the damage increase was less significant. Great gameplay, love the blink/grapple interaction. I do like blink and grapple, but haven’t combined them as well as you.
Impulse amplifier + Desprate measures. Desprate measures allows rapid-fires to shoot + melee combo at x2 stacks (aka after a grapple or glaive melee kill). This does not work currently due to glaive damage bug but it's very nice normally. Kill someone with grapple + glaive melees, bakris behind the next person and shoot melee.
Just nerf prismatic already... I know they made the debuffs generic but it would go a long way to getting it in line by making debuffs subclass specific again. Like why do I go invis from ads dying to incandescent?

At x1 (projectile kill) it allows for grapple ball + shot to kill consistently. Additionally it has an amazing origin trait, good stats for a glaive, and is a rapid-fire glaive which has the fastest projectile ttk. The only alternative for me is edge of concurrence, which sacrifices all of that (except for being a rapid fire) for its exotic perk. I would only use this with the new special system, as more special = more opportunity for perk to actually activate.
Cool little tech I found. Most people you know you can blink while in grapple, but not many know you can blink while in the grapple startup animation. Jump, grapple, immediately blink for this tech. Note that it will remove the ability to blink afterward for a couple seconds like normal, so choose when you use this tech wisely. I don’t choose very wisely, I could be playing way better if I used my brain more lol. Autopilot gaming fails me again.

Slap on a glaive with grapple, blink, and bakris. Run heal on orb pickup combined with reaper. Use fragment to start health regen on melee kill. Use glaive of choice, i think Rapid-Fires work best. I will probably post a video dedicated to explaining the build/playstyle at some point.
@@ChessKing151 Do you think Handling makes a different on a Glaive? Does high handing allows you to melee faster or melee and then shoot faster? It feels like the melee animation can by pass any low handling delay, so it generally makes handling useless on a glaive.
High handling is of course going to help you draw the weapon faster, mainly out of grapple. It also increases the speed which the shield comes up, as using a shield is just ADS.
@@thawsomepancakes3615 True, but it has better handling and reload speed, an amazing orgin trait for a glaive, is craftable, can be adept for an additional 10 to a stat, and also rolls with desprate measures, which is my prefered glaive perk. It also has unstoppable force if you like it.

Jump, hit grapple, immediately jump again to blink. You can blink while in the start of the grapple animation which is nice.

Assume you’re using bakris for the movement only - you could use an arc glaive and stasis pulse to also get the damage boost

Like it looks as if you’re stopping the grapple as you blink but the grapple keeps you going forward?

An arc glaive is nice, especially the Edge of Concurrence. I prefer having the higher stats + perks from the raid glaive.
