I'm just from Africa. I'm just trying to get better with music. Especially rapping, because I'm doing it to prove to myself that I can be whatever I want to be
Be the best you can be bro don’t aim to be at the “TOP” it take more than talent to reach that, stay true to yourself my boy continue to grow everyday 💪🏽
I am a spiritual soul, so I love to sit in nature and ditch my phone too. I especially speak affirmations by the waterside and tell The Most High what I’m working on, why I’m doing it and to help me remain an inspiration to others 💖
Damn drew,I do that "find the title first" tip without even consider it before,I write song based on title Ms.Blondie I think of that title cause i randomly have huge crush to Marilyn Monroe, and heard her story before she die. From that I'm started to fantasize a character, and not just a love song but deep story inspired by Marilyn's story
It never occured to me to write in the style of another MC as form of practice. I'm a multi instrumentalist, producer and sound designer - and getting back to performing after many years away. My main axe is the electric bass. When it comes to what I need to do to "get my chops up" there is a history - a proscribed method - several - for what to do - even how to self study. Not so with rapping. Sure there are books and videos - but not a codified method to impov. For instance - I took a couple of years away from the bass, which I played on a pro-level. Played everything from old school funk in a ten piece bands to avant garde jazz - to post punk indie rock. I know what I need to do in order to get my chops up - I run scale patterns - slowly building up muscle memory and strength - I do ear training to so I can memorize intervals for improvisation - or work on playing my arpeggios with more musicality and fluidity. But not so for Rapping (sidebar - when I look at the culture of Hiphop, as a whole, the only elements that seem to have been codified in such away are Graffiti and B-boying/breaking. Thus far - though some have attempted not so much with DJing and Rapping - this occurs to me as I write this - I dont know that it means anything - its just curious) - anyway - I dig the idea of writing shit I wont use - that helps with the inner critic a lot. Thanks man.

But I haven't been in a studio section before. And it's really terrifying. I don't want anyone to pity me or whatever. I'm just saying that, we got so many wasted talents on the streets, looking for opportunities, like studio experience, good production team, finance for self promotion, like DJ's, online promotion, radios, interviews, clothes, social media platforms and so many on
mane i been writing for a couple of my songs lately and now i went to freestyle and i couldnt i guess because ive been writing so much… what should i do
Practice freestyling…if your brain starts lagging/freezing just stutter your way through so you get used to 'overcoming a problem‘. You will get better and feel more comfortable
As a tip for u, try saying: hey @Howtorap appreciate the content but have u tried putting rappers instead of Bart for a thumbnail? Bart comes off a little corny but I see u have over 500k subs so u might know something I don't lol
That's because 99% use ghost writers. They don't even write there own songs. But they won't tell you the truth but will take all the credit for something they never write.
these are really useful , in. year ima come back to this comment and see how far I've come rn I've only made 1 song. and at 101 subs. my songs on app off top. got fye beats

Correct 🔥🔥
The idiom thing really helped me. I now have 2 song titles and half of a chorus for one of them
Tying together random personal verses with a chorus is a great exercise. That can easily build momentum for new verses.

That’s what I think too! Those that say they don’t get writers block is either they lying cause they have a ego? Or they have someone writing for them
