Nomenclature is important in order to provide the correct name for a plant.
The naming activity is under the control of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi and Plants (ICN) published by the International Association of Plant Taxonomy (IAPT).
Formally called the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (ICBN)
Name changed at the International Botanical Congress in Melbourne (July 2011) : Melbourne Code
The Code revised at every International Botanical Congress.
Latest code is SHENZHEN CODE 2018
