I have to do this every day after a dilation procedure for a urethra stricture. I just can't seem to get it right and it hurts so bad. My wife is helping me as she is a nurse, but I don't know why we can't get it in further than about 2 inches. We managed to get it in about 8 inches once, but that was it. I can pee just fine, so I think it's a mental block I just can't hurdle. Anyone else in this position and what did you do? I'm currently waiting for the hospital to acquire Optilume, but they said it could be a few months, even though the medical board approved the product.
@@darthjarjarbinks8953 I had Optilume back in July. It has helped tremendously and I have no issues with strictures. I had two strictures, both treated with Optilume.

Idk if this will help, but you might have pelvic floor disorder and those muscles could be reacting too much and pinching on it.

How do you know when the catheter has been pushed in far enough?
you should feel pressure when passing the prostrate, as you enter the bladder watch for urine flow.
Urine will come out through the catheter. Make sure the bag attached
