    That entire transformation of the arms befuddles me. Yet somehow you manage to make this video as solid as it can be. Kudos.

      Most of it is hard to sequence. You can't close the shoulders until you finish the back, but you can't finish the back until you extract the hip skirts and the chest flaps. A whole lot of things have to be "parked" along the way, which I consider to be sloppy design work.

    Definition of insanity: I first saw (& commented) on this video several months ago yet I *still* went ahead and bought the figure for myself lol. Considering I had trouble figuring out how to correct his mistransformed robot mode straight out of the box (it came that way), I'll probably have to set aside a whole *day* if I ever get the urge to convert it to alt. mode lol.

    • @peolesdru

      Hasbro does a much better job of including the "how to get it from packing mode to robot mode" instructions at the beginning of their manuals.

      Perceptor: It’s all our fault we’re late, Princess Diancie. We should have met Huffer ages ago, but did you want to drive to the Kalos region? Oh, dear. We need a Concorde SST passenger jet named Silverbolt to get to the Kalos region. It’s too far away from the Unova region for us to drive.

    While the end result is amazing, I can't help but feel that this figure has been made way more complicated than it needed to be.

    • @peolesdru
      @peolesdru  5 лет назад +3

      I think some of the seemingly pointless complexity has to do with balling the thing up into a "cube mode" to install into the combiner chest. I realize that "Zeta" approach is more stable as a combiner and all, but at that point what is the point in having the torso figure be involved in the combined mode at all?

    • @peolesdru
      @peolesdru  5 лет назад +1

      Also: If you look at the forearms, one has a slot (near the crook of the elbow) and one has a tab. So clearly the arms tab together somehow for cube mode.

    • @bumbledouche3323
      @bumbledouche3323 5 лет назад +3

      @@peolesdru Strangely, I forgot to consider the need to combine - I must be getting old! I agree the Zeta approach is inelegant. I've heard people say you actually can have a stable, functional Superion without inserting the torso figure... But you need to buy their version of Silverbolt in order to get the chest pieces in the first place. Ultimately there wont ever be a universally agreed upon perfect Superion. The inconsistencies in the cartoon made sure of that. But I'm eager to see the final version of the FansToys interpretation.

    • @peolesdru
      @peolesdru  3 года назад +1

      @@lynnesauer6008 Agreed. But I prefer something more elegant than using a floppy linkage to move a part. A lot of the FT designs use this approach. Without the linkage they would be parts-formers. Utilizing such linkages only barely elevates the design above parts-forming for me. It's just my own OCD - even aside from the difficulty in filming such floppy parts, I find I enjoy figures more when at any point during the transformation the figure is still solid and nothing is flopping about so that it can be rotated and looked at at any stage.

    can it combine

    • @peolesdru
      @peolesdru  4 года назад

      Theoretically. The instructions don't include the combiner portion. As far as I could tell it probably turns into a cube-ish form so it can be plugged into a torso (that would be released later). It will be quite a while before FT finishes this set.
