- Another hop tester beer, this time reviewing Pacific Sunrise. As you can probably tell from the title this one did not impress! Let me know if you have had a different experience with this one as it was completely lacking in character for me...

Good to show all aspects of the game. Fair play.
Cant win em all!
Sounds a bit like Pacific Jade in that it's marketed as dual use but is infinitely better as a bittering only.
That’s a shame. Won’t be grabbing some any time soon 🍻
Was thinking I don’t remember this beer….
Turns out Tricky has covid 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣 plot twist!
I don't recall the name from my years in NZ shopping for brewing supplies so it does seem to have had a bit of a low profile. As far as I can tell it has primarily been considered just a bittering hop but has recently been pushed as a late addition hop for IPA styles. Possibly an attempt to leverage NZ hop's current brand value and find a new market for it? I look forward to finding it delivered as my mystery hop from MM after this review. I can use it instead of Magnum anyway.
Thanks for that info that does kind of explain how its been MIA up to this point!
Perhaps that's the reason you hadn't heard of them.
It seems like it!
Disappointing indeed ☹️
A shame it hasn’t turn out well. A weird one.
You’ll have to drown your sorrows with a kilo of Superdelic. Now that hop will definitely deliver a great NZ hop tester beer.
Yes it was strange just how little impact it had on the flavour, Superdelic you say hmmmmmm........
@@DudesBrews not sure how readily available it is in the UK yet, but having sampled it in a commercial beer over the weekend and managed to nab myself a 100g bag of it (which I’ve used in your NZ pils recipe that’s conditioning now) I can confirm it tastes and smells incredible. Nelson on steroids.
Not a hop I've ever heard of, even in NZ
You are not the only one to say this! Could be a clue there….
