I'm Susie and I was born in Hungary. Although I used to live in the Philippines for 4 years I spent an unexpectedly long time back in my home country due to the Pandemic.
2022 has brought the change I've been waiting for and now I'm back in the Philippines to further explore the local life and the country's beautiful destinations, food, and culture.

But just like yours it worked in the end but we got married in Europe because he didn't want to let me go away. 😊

Appreciate very much for sharing snippets of how you met. I'd say you've both beaten the odds being in an LDR and on top of that, an interracial couple as well. It amazes me how Susie easily adapted to a tropical life in an archipelagic country which happens to be regularly visited by typhoons (about 21 each year on average, ranging from Signal #1 to #5).

@@SusieinthePhilippines: My husband and I were pen pals. We started writing to each other in July, 1991. That was all. Six months later he visited me in the Philippines. He proposed before the end of his holiday, but I said no because he was not my boyfriend. He did not lose courage despite my answer and continued to write and call me. He was British Telecommunications’ number one customer. 😅 And guess what? In December 2022 we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary.

BTW, since you're in a province or rural areas where grasses and trees are all over, you might as well carry with you always a "STICK" or the likes to watch out for Snakes that may be lurking around and be intimidated by your presence. The Philippine Cobra is all over the Country and should be aware of. Be safe and keep up the good works.

I agree, new subscriber. Just recently found this channel, think I was directed here thru another vlogger couple whom I also found recently. But really Susie has been doing You tube videos for quite a long while, I wonder if she is one of first of "foreigners" featuring life in Phil....I have only watched a few similar topic channels thus far and they are all nice but so far just 2 subs to susie & TPL. So, I started watching around when Jonathan became more visible, just a happy coincidence! Thank u Mr. J, your contributions are so fun, "first ...we need a tent!" I already enjoyed Susie solo stories & descriptions, I think esp enjoyed the one with J's mother taking her around 2 friends, that was classic! You can take the Filipino out of the Phil but even around the world they will want to show off their offspring & family always (in my experience). Of course that can be all peoples everywhere, just seems very "in your face" for Filipinos, in a good way.
