*A lot of viewers have been real thankful for our videos and have ask if there was a way to buy us a Beer. RUclips now has a ‘THANKS’ button under every video, Just click the button.* 😀 *It’s not required or expected, but it is appreciated. THANK YOU!*
New to the full time RV life, this washer/dryer was left behind and I agree with the others - I'm so happy I landed on your video! You guys are my type of people & I'm excited to have found your channel
3 years with this unit and never cleaned the inside. Hair and lint on the inside of the rubber gasket. When I pulled off the pump cover, lots of water and smell was terrible. Thank you for posting this information.
These videos are so helpful, we just bought our first home and instead of having a washer & dryer, the previous owners left us a Splendide! It's been a real learning curve but watching you both calmly dismantle it for maintenance has given me a lot of confidence that I can do it too. Thanks a bunch!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! We just bought our first RV. It came with a Slendid 2100xc. I had no idea how to run it or maintain it.. This video helped me out a lot! I've been cleaning my machine following your instructions!!! I FEEL SO LUCKY TO HAVE RAN INTO YOUR INSTRUCTION! YOU MADE IT EASY TO FOLLOW THEM! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Have fun and stay safe! Hope you get to travel to Vermont sometime. Fall is gorgeous up here with our foliage! Lots of bright brilliant colors. UPDATE: I finished my maintenance cleaning cycles. WOW! 🫢 A CRAZY AMOUNT OF LINT AND NASTY STUFF CAME OUT! 😲 The person we bought our camper from kept everything maintained and in great condition. But must have NEVER knew about doing this. I dare say it wasn't working that great for them. And was most certainly in danger of becoming completely ruined!!
Just came across your video after researching about my dryer not working properly. Usually everything is dried after 40 minutes. However, now it’s on 80 and clothes are still damp. I’m having to hang them up. I will try the cleaning process and praying it works. Thank you for making the video, and hopefully it will be successful for me.
Hi Leisa! Let us know how it turns out. We do it once a month and it works wonders for us. The only time I do 80 minutes is for jeans and towels. Good Luck.😃
Get Gone with US It didn't work. It did this same thing about four months ago when we were in Texas. It was cutting off and giving me a flashing code. I had to call someone to come work on it and it had a Lint buildup in the back. After they used some 12” surgical tools to reach the lint they pulled out a big wad. It worked great after that. So I’m gonna guess this is gonna be a repeat of that. I will try to find a video showing how to do that. But the thought of pulling that washer/dryer back out again does not make me happy. I would rather pull out a lint filter with every load rather then to tackle this every four months. Thanks again for the video. At least I can do that and it will help keep the washer clean. God Bless, Leisa
Sorry to hear that, Leisa. Once it is cleaned out this procedure should help it from happening again. Quick thought...can you just remove the vent cover from the outside and see if there is any blockage from there before pulling the machine out?
Get Gone with US I truly feel it's in the bend at the very bottom where it was at last time we had to call someone to come fix it. This must be a problem for a lot of ppl. I don't like having to continue pulling that out every few months. Right now we are at a campground that has a washer and dryer. We will probably wait until we get back home and let our son help us. He's really good at doing things like that. Blessings, Leisa
Thanks for the easy instructions! I would always wipe down the soap/bleach/fabric softener compartment but didn't know the entire drawer pulled out & could be cleaned underneath! It was sort of disgusting but will stay clean now! Thanks!
Thank you so much..usually only dry with my washer&dryer combo but Abby our 3 year old corgi threw up on her blanket in crate. Had to wash it and that is when problem started. Previous owners used it more and don't know when it was last cleaned. Video very useful!!💖
Great video…I am contemplating a Splendide purchase and this video is very helpful in understanding what’s involved in the day-to-day operations and maintenance. Thanks again!
Thank you for the maintenance video!! We have the exact same model we installed this past April and actually your video was what helped us decide on that model. Y’all are a super sweet and funny couple and we love following your journey! We are fulltimers still working, but do get to move around every few months.
You're welcome Guys! Glad to hear you can full time and still be able to work. Maybe we'll see you out on the road someday. Thanks for follow along on our journey. 😃
I was just telling my wife that I should write to you about your washer/dryer impressions and here pops up your latest video! Expect an email requesting the undocumented Cleaning process. As always, happy travels. We are in Deadwood SD for a 3-Wheel rally.
Thanks! We're not going to use this on a motor home, we are planning to move our laundry up from the basement (those basement stairs are scary). So this sounds like a nice unit for the kitchen.
WOW its been two years sine you all installed the combo......and Congrats on the one year of full-time RV living......NICE! 🌞🎂🍷🍺🍺. Great Job on the cleaning demo Cheryl! 🍷
Time is flying Tim! You'll see once you get out here. The 7 weeks we spent on lockdown in California, seems like a distance memory. Well until we really stop and think about it. LOL
Thanks so much for the tutorial! The dang manual DOESN'T include all of these tips, and I can't figure out why. I came here bc ours suddenly has flashing lights: the dry light and all the ones at the top (low heat, prewash, extra rinse, low spin, and door lock), and was trying to troubleshoot that. Have you run across this before? The last time we did, it had to do with a clogged dryer vent and while it may still, this started when my husband shut the door to get by the machine to the bathroom. It's in a wash cycle, while the lights flash. Cutting the power overnight did nothing. Turning power back on simply allowed the cycle to continue, so I'm letting it finish to see what happens. 😄🤷
We never had all the light flashing at the same time. You can try calling the company. Last time we called (a few years ago) they were very helpful. Good Luck!
Very helpful info. I'm pretty sure this will work the same in the Splendide WD7100XC (ventless) model of combo washer/dryer we are getting in the spring with our new rv. With the pandemic our dealer is unable to find a 2100XC in stock and so we're getting the 7100. All the controls and operation are the same, so I'm guessing maintenance will also be the same. Thanks for posting!
Trying your steps now. Have you ever seen black gunk in the detergent bin on top where the water comes out? Trying to figure out why it's doing that. I run a 3 filter water system.
Loved the video. We are new RVers (bought last fall and spent three months in Florida) and we love our Splendide. No hanging around the laundromat. But I was wondering if there was something we were missing maintenance wise.
Good evening! I am a new subscriber! We are in the process of deciding Class A vs Class C for 1-2 month trips, then back home for a month or so. I have no idea where that will go; I am favoring the Class A for space and comfort and my wife is favoring the Class C so as to feel not as intimidated to drive also. We just need to get out and see more rigs; as well as do some test driving. Anyways, thank you for sharing this video! A sub reason that I would like to have the Class A is to have laundry capability. And, depending on the rig, it would have either the combo or the stackable systems. I have heard many grumbles about the combo system; mainly that it isn't a great dryer and it makes stuff wrinkly. After watching a few folks demo this model, I am now under the impression that a lot of those problems are operator error. And, of course, I am rv'ing and on vacation, so I really could care less about wrinkles hehehe Safe travels! Do you have any plans to come to Ouray CO?
Hi Alan, here is a thought. Both Class A's and Class C's can be rented for short term use, that could be a deciding factor. We ended up owning both, we bought a Class C in 2005 and Maggie our Class A in 2016. Cheryl tried driving the Class C and never felt comfortable doing so. Remember a Class C is narrower in the front and get wider after the driving position. The Class A is the same width from front to rear. Since Cheryl has driven Maggie, she loves it. If we are doing a 6 hour travel day, after 3 hours, she is telling me to pull over , because it is her turn to drive. If the trip is under 3 hours, she wants to drive the whole thing. The Class A, in our opinion, is a lot easier to drive and more fun. That is our opinion only and would never suggest you base your decision on it. PS we don't care about wrinkles either. LOL Let us know what you end up with when you both make the decision. 😃
Get Gone with US Hi Chuck....thank you very much for the prompt response! That is a great recommendation to rent both a class a and c! We are about 6.5 hours away from the closest metropolitan area. I will have to look into doing that! Of course, I would try to rent models that hopefully resemble the features we want or like; something that is just the size of what we are considering will help with the deciding the preference of a class a and c. We have previously had 2 travel trailers. Now that we have small tow vehicles, we prefer to venture into the motorhome world. I see that you and Cheryl toad a Jeep. Now you two HAVE to come to Ouray CO! You two are most welcome to moochdock in our driveway! Yes! I will let you know how the decision progresses. We aren’t in a mega hurry; wanting to purchase after the new year. But, it is definitely time to start the research part. Safe travels!
Cheryl and Chuck, another highly informative video thank you both as always. Glad you aren't in P.S. it is going to be 100 and stupid for a while. We have been bouncing around 90* here in Vista. THANKS SAFE TRAVELS
Thanks Ron! P.S. can have that weather, it hit over 100, 9 straight days. We are in Maine by the Atlanic ocean. We have been enjoying the sea breeze the last few days and you can't even see the ocean, but it is a couple blocks away. 😃
Well sir another great video, you know I watch you how you put your vent in and you was telling me that the hardest part was to drill that 4" hole, well I finally brave up and put one in mines about a couple of weeks ago and it came out good. So now I was able to install the vented hole and I went back and install the Splendid XC2100 in my 5th wheel. I was able to do it by myself, it's wasn't too bad but I know that I had to man handle it in. What do I need to do to get your cleaning process I would love to have it inside my 5th wheel? I haven't use our washer and dryer yet because after installing it we haven't had a chance but we going to try it out in a day or so. Awesome videos and keep up the good work and be safe.
Thanks George! Congrats on getting the install done. Just send us an email at GetGonewithUS@comcast.net and we sent you the instructions we found on line. 😃
Ok. So when running the second cycle, youre doing the 11 just to get the 1st part of the water level. Then, youre #2 gets run from start to finish? No detergent?
I enjoy your videos. I have a question when winterizing. You ran a cycle on hot. Does that push the water out of the cold lines also? I read it is good practice to drain the pump of anti freeze? Also read it is good practice to dump a gallon of antifreeze in the drum and spin and drain. Thanks for your videos. Fellow precept 36 a.
Hi Bill! When you open the low drain points, gravity causes the water to drain, so both lines going up to the washer, should drain. We followed the instructions from Splendide for the Optional Winterization at time stamp 10:38. Also note the section underneath , that option calls for only 1/2 quart of antifreeze not a gallon. Hope this helps. 😀
Do you have a video on how to balance the unit? Our unit vibrates uncontrollably during the rinse and spin cycle, and I'm having a hard time balancing it to reduce the vibration.
Great video! We finally bought our Splendide and now need to install it. Unfortunately, we encountered a metal barnright smack in the middle of the hole we have to drill (guess Jayco made some structural changes to the laundry cabinet). We will probably have to lower it a couple of inches, but are afraid that could block the flow through the vent. We are considering cutting some of the metal to minimize this. This is definitely a nerve wrecking procedure! Hopefully the actual installation will be smoother. I’m looking forward to using my little machine! By the way, do you have the cleaning/maintenance instructions in writing? I want to make sure I keep my machine as clean as possible. Thanks for doing the research for us!
Thanks Luci! Strange Jayco changed the laundry area. You might want to call them and just ask where they are routing the vent though. We do have a copy of the cleaning instructions, just send us an email at GetGonewithUS@comcast.net
Update: Got the Splendide installed...had to drill through part of the metal bar in the wall. I have been using it for a little over a month now and am very happy with it! Have to do more loads because of the side, but it’s working very well...and it sure beats going to a laundromat! I’m getting ready to run a clean cycle on it and have been viewing a couple of videos, including yours, of course. I noticed that some use 1 cup of white vinegar during each wash, but you don’t. Is there a reason? By the way, I appreciate you showing the other parts that need to be cleaned as well. Thanks for the video. Both my husband and I really appreciate all your “how to” and install videos, especially since we also have a Precept 35S.
Nice info on the cleaning cycle for the inside of the machine. Mine is a different model but I will see if it still words on mine. Did you find that process on there website or in the manual for the machine? I have done the cleaning of the soap tray and the pump trap on the bottom of the machine. Thanks for all that info guys.
You are welcome. We found it researching online. There is no letterhead or anything.. It looks like someone typed it up , but it say it is a work around fix by Splendide.
If you had the choice of a separate washer and dryer would you opt for that, we are about to purchase a unit. We did like what you said about put it in and come back and no removing the stuff between wash and dry. We just question the volume of wash that can be done.
We couldn't put 2 separate units in Maggie without modification. We would be happy with either setup though. If we got another rig and it came with a separate washer and dryer, we wouldn't switch it out for a combo. Same being said it it came with a combo, we wouldn't switch that out separate washer and dryer either. The combo offers the ability to set a load and not have to switch the clothes over to a dryer, but smaller loads. The other offers larger loads, but you still have to switch the clothes over to the dryer if you have been out all day. You will also lose the storage space that the separate dryer will take up, which would be a decent wardrobe area. Either way, the ability of not having to go to a laundry mat is priceless, in our opinion. 😃
Great Video. I have this exact unit in my boat. One thing I always wanted to know is... When you remove the lower panel, what is the green tang for in the lower right corner? I couldn't find anything in the manual that explained anything about it. If you have any info on that, that would be great. Thanks so much.
Thanks Jake! The green tab is a lock release for the door in case of a malfunction and it doesn't automatically release. This way you can still get the clothes out. 😃
The door and opening gasket looks eerily similar to my LG. Wonder if the Spendide is a rebranded LG, or LG makes it for them. BTW, full time RVing? Wow, we'll get there some day. Where does your mail go to?
Thanks, That would be one of the things that would keep us from going back to a Class C. Now the Cheryl has a washer/dryer, she's not going to go without one. 😃
Can you use liquid soap instead of powder? If so, how much do you suggest? Also, I just bought a used rig with this combo? Has a bit of musty smell...would running a cycle with vinegar help that?
You can use liquid soap and we suggest vinegar and baking soda for the smell. You should be able to find a copy of the manual online somewhere or get a hold of Splendide directly. 😀
I have a Splendide 2100.... I want to use the dry cycle only. I follow the instructions as noted, ...select the perm press dry cycle...close the door, turn it on - "door locked" light blinks 5 time - and it lights up, clicks, but doesn't start? Any idea as to why? It sounds like it's trying to go, but nothing happens. Any suggestion is appreciated.
Sorry, we have never had that issue. Enclosed is a link for the service manuals for Spendide, just choose you model and maybe it will help. You can also call Splenedide direct and talk to them about it. www.splendide.com/service/docs.html
Hey there! Congrats on completing your first year full timing! Is it recommended to run a washer cleaner, like Affresh, through a wash cycle? Safe travels!
HI Art! We have no clue if anything is recommended. You could call and ask them. We don't do anything other than what we did in the video and have not had a problem.
HI. It is vented outside. This was our install video... ruclips.net/video/4TcsQAvyrIQ/видео.html Links to everything we used is in the description box below the video.
Thank you for your quick response. I was confused because you said that yours did not have a lint screen, but now I see that both the vented and non-vented Splendide combos do not have screens. Do you know whether any lint goes through your vent to the outside? The reason I ask is that our current system is set up to where our dryer vents to a void w/in our coach. I do not like this system at all. We have a lot of lint build-up that we cannot easily access and clean. Because of this, I am considering moving to a non-vented system. I would prefer to not have to do this due to concerns about slow drying times. Because of the way the combo processes lint through the drain, I am hoping we can still use our vent but not have to worry about lint buildup coming through the vent.
*A lot of viewers have been real thankful for our videos and have ask if there was a way to buy us a Beer. RUclips now has a ‘THANKS’ button under every video, Just click the button.* 😀 *It’s not required or expected, but it is appreciated. THANK YOU!*

Just saying hi 👋 You guys make the best how-to videos - excellent lighting, video; and clear, easy to follow steps 👍

You are welcome. Don't don't overload it or leave the clothes in too long after they are dried. :)
Great Video on Spendide!! You both do it right. Simple, to the point and helpful!! Thanks Bob in Wisconsin Dells, WI

Great job. I check for lint and guess what i found. It was a ten dallor bill, neatly folded just in side the rubber lip. What a deal.
Thanks Don! Amazing that is what we charge for Brandi's fur that we find under the lip. Your way works faster. LOL
Funny thing happened, my unit need to have the cabinet doors open. The circuit board must have gotten hot. Works great since then.
We have always left ours open a bit if not all the way. It is a tight area in there.
Trying your steps now. Have you ever seen black gunk in the detergent bin on top where the water comes out? Trying to figure out why it's doing that. I run a 3 filter water system.

That is correct. 😀
How did you get the detergent fabric softener dispenser out you made it look so easy I've tried and I can't get it out
You should just have to open the dispenser, tilt down from the top and pull it out gently. To replace just push it back in.😀
@@GetGonewithUS Thank you was easy once you know how now nice and clean
@Christine Jurczak You are welcome.
Sorry Bruce, ours never experienced that issue. I'd suggest Getting a hold of the company and seeing if they have a solution. Good Luck!
Great tutorial! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Clean cycle demo: 7:06
@@GetGonewithUS Great info, Thank you so much.
@Boston Jake You are welcome!
amazing, thanks so much for all the info!!!
You are so welcome! 😀
so glad to know about the cleaning cycle. i have to go do that now. lol
Have fun! LOL
Great video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it Louie! 😀
The door and opening gasket looks eerily similar to my LG. Wonder if the Spendide is a rebranded LG, or LG makes it for them.
BTW, full time RVing? Wow, we'll get there some day. Where does your mail go to?
I do not believe they are made from the same company. We use a mail forwarding company for our mail. 😃
@@GetGonewithUSsplendide is rebranded by indesit not by lg
That's the only thing I miss in my class c....a washer /dryer.
Thanks, That would be one of the things that would keep us from going back to a Class C. Now the Cheryl has a washer/dryer, she's not going to go without one. 😃
Thanks, excellent tips! 🙂
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your Spendide!
Can you put a queen size fitted and top sheet in the washer at once? Thanks
Yes you can, but they will come out wrinkled.
Thank you so much!!
You're welcome!🙂
Can you use liquid soap instead of powder? If so, how much do you suggest? Also, I just bought a used rig with this combo? Has a bit of musty smell...would running a cycle with vinegar help that?
You can use liquid soap and we suggest vinegar and baking soda for the smell. You should be able to find a copy of the manual online somewhere or get a hold of Splendide directly. 😀
Thank you!
You're welcome, Holly!
Thank you
You're welcome! 😀
Hey there! Congrats on completing your first year full timing! Is it recommended to run a washer cleaner, like Affresh, through a wash cycle? Safe travels!
HI Art! We have no clue if anything is recommended. You could call and ask them. We don't do anything other than what we did in the video and have not had a problem.
I use vinegar or a pack of unsweetened lemonade koolaid
Chuck can i get ge a copy of the process for the washer?
Hi Don, send your email address to GetGonewithUS@comcast.net and I'll send it off to you. 😀
Just cleaned out the water pump filiter found 2 dollats and 42 cents in change Just to let you know till I watch viedo didn't know it was there.
Bet you didn't know it was not just a washer/dryer, it's also an ATM! 😆 Thanks for stopping by our channel! 😀
Can you snip the directions on maintenance and post here, the steps?
We used to have a copy of the maintenance, but gave it to the new owners when we sold the rig. Sorry!
Can you run a load of laundry when you are driving?
You could with a generator, water in the fresh tank and room for that water in the gray tank. Should you is more of the question, we wouldn't. 😀
Hi, is your model vented?
If you keep up with the maintenance, you shouldn't have much of a lint issue. We heard there were many issues with a non-vented combos.
Hi!
Hi Keri!
Thx!
You are welcome! 😀
how can I JUST dry in this?
Just set it to #5 or #10 and set the dry time. When it first starts it will sound like water is going in, but it's not.
Hi 👋
Hi Florine! 🙂
Hi

Actually you go from 11 to 12. Not 2
