My trick is to bring zip lock bags on the ship. Then order room service deli sandwiches and chips. Load them in the ziplock bags put them in a backpack and take them on shore.

You can get in a lot of trouble taking food off the ship in a lot of ports. They have strict laws about importing food. Packaged chips, little cereal boxes, bottled beverages are ok, but not stuff in ZipLoc bags.

    • @Horrorzeit
      @Horrorzeit Год назад +5

There is food provided 24/7 everywhere but people still be bringing freakin sandwiches to the shore (not allowed) . How skinflint can you be after paying thousands of dollars for a luxurious cruise.

Room service on DCL is so convenient. I love the cheese plate too, Justin!
I was cruising with my mom once and we both woke up in the middle of the night so we turned on a classic animated movie and ordered room service at 2am. It's one of my favorite DCL memories.

Loved this video. Some tips we’ll have to remember for our upcoming Nov. 1 cruise (not holding our breath). Chocolate chip cookies from room service have changed over the years. Our first few times ordering them they were huge (the Fantasy). This last trip March 2020 on the Wonder, they were smaller, more like regular home made. Tip: Ask your head waiter what happened, and the next few nights at dinner they’ll surprise you with saucer size cookies!! 😂 Part of the Disney magic.

    • @OurZRoll

Aww thanks! HA That's a great tip! LOVE THAT! Ya they have gotten smaller. I remember our first Cruise (10 years ago) they were huge! I think we still have a picture of one of them. Fingers crossed for your cruise!!! ❤️❤️

I can't remember if it's on the menu or not but we always order the Uncrustables (smuckers pb&j sandwiches). They're prepackaged so we stock up on those every night before getting off a port so we can take them in our backpacks for snacks while out on our excursions.

I LOVE room service. We always get the carafe of coffee like you the night before because it is nice to have it first thing and not be woken up. We love sitting on the verandah with it and just relaxing while the kids still sleep inside or while they are having their own pre-breakfast of donuts/fruit/juice and watching a show on the TV.
I have got to try the pie of the day!!!
Last cruise I ordered the Mickey bar and cookies and made myself the biggest ice cream sandwich-a tip I got from a FB cruise group. It was WAY TOO SWEET...but awesome. I've got great pictures and fun memories of that. :)
Looking forward to more of these as we count down to our next cruise!

It was so great having the extra space and that amazing fresh air all the time. I know it's an extra expense and you can get the views and fresh air on deck, but it's worth it to us to have since we do use it every day.

I have been on nine different cruises as of Feb 2022 and have one coming up in September 2022, here are some of the different tips that I appreciate about room service.
My point on the very first day I called down to room service request a standing order for Coffee for two and fresh fruit. To be delivered at 7 am. Works out to be a nice wake up the coffee fantastic..
As for the tips I try’s I always bring enough to tip three dollars per day and if I can find it I try to find some two dollar bills. The waiters really do appreciate it .

We get that cheese and grape plate at dinner for free. Ask your server at dinner and they usually cant do it for you that night, but they can have it for you the next night or whenever you would like it. Just tell them a head of time.
Mickey bars free at dinner too! That's what we do.

We've done 2 Disney cruises, but never ordered room service. We knew it was available, but always seemed to have enough food choices from main meals, and snacks up on pool deck. Disney Wonder: Schwarma is great. Also, cream-cheese-stuffed pretzels at the Pizza station. So good. Will try some of the room service options on our next cruise. Is there a tip to be offered every time room service is called? WOW, I didn't know that. It is a cultural shock, here in Spain the tip is not something that is due or obligatory, here the tip is considered to be a reward for excellent or exceptional service. No one is going to look down on you if you don't tip, so it's pretty shocking to us.
One question, is there a limit to ordering milk and cookies or the Mickey Bar? I mean, you can only order them once a day? Or can you order as many times as you want?)

    • @OurZRoll

Yes! It usually depends on the ship but usually they open around 7am. Every time we go down to Cabanas its open. We have never had a problem. When it comes to port days we have always had plenty of time to eat before we get off the ship/they let us get off the ship.

I dont know you 2 but so many people do not think of how much /many people choose room service at the same time and the amount of wasted time waiting for people will have another person crapping on room service and probably not getting a tip because of it.
