Well done Randy! All your info was spot on as usual. I'm an Idaho resident and luckily only pay resident costs and get both deer and elk tags over the counter without any quota limits. Controlled hunts in Unit 1 where I hunt are getting tougher to draw, especially if you want a special bull or cow elk tag. The extra whitetail doe tag under the controlled hunt is very easy to draw so between my tags and the wife and youth hunter kid we usually end up with 4-6 deer tags and 3 elk tags. More than enough! Plus there's price lock if you've been buying licenses for the past few years. Tags for non-residents can be quite confusing and darn near impossible to draw since there's only a small percentage that can go to non-residents. The Idaho Fish and Game site has all the draw odds for review.
Also know if your draw an antlered mule deer tag last year and try too apply for the same hunt code again it won’t let you do the same hunt 2 years in a row. Gotta switch to elk or pronghorn.

I wish idaho would show how many non residents put in for each hunt.
My advice is never buy your tags online i drew second draw and received my tag with 1 week left. Keep that in mind
