  • We completely revamped our dining are of the 5th wheel. We wanted to brighten the area, gain more storage, more seating, and more table surface for our big fam. We were able to accomplish all of that and more. Check out the entire process in this video. We: reran some wiring, built a platform, laid some flooring, installed faux shiplap on the ceiling and floor of our slide, built booth seating, made a custom telescoping butcher block table w/ integrated chess board, and brightened the area with cool colors and LED lighting! To see more in-depth videos on individual parts of the renovation check out these videos-

Watching this gives me so much hope!!! We had a house fire and unfortunately we lost everything with no insurance! So I bought a camper so we would at least have a home that was ours, instead of renting someone else's property. But I'll admit it is intimidating at times!! Especially with a teenager and our fur babies

Oh my goodness- how devastating!! I’m so sorry. I’m glad this video gave you hope. We went from a 3200 square foot home with all the fun extras to camping in tents for 10 1/2 weeks. Now they feel like we live like kings 😂 It has been a great transition for us. We all have a greater appreciation for each other and focus less on the things. It has actually been amazing to simplify and minimize in every aspect. So many things we don’t NEED. All we really need is each other ❤️ May God bless you and your family as you move forward! I’m sure he has plenty of blessings for you even amidst the struggles right now!

This shows that you are more than capable of building your dream home. This was more than a clever makeover, it was also well-executed. Also, I admire your wherewithal in having so many people live in an RV. I am moving from a 2500 sq. ft. house to a 400 sq. ft. Forest River Cedar Creek Cottage 40CFK2 destination trailer and want to scale down my 4-person dining area to accommodate only 2 and to also use it as an office. However, this was helpful.

Beautifully done, and the gameboard integrated into the table is impressive, but it’s a checkerboard, not a chessboard. In chess the rightmost corner for each player is white. In checkers that square is traditionally black. I guess it doesn’t really matter, you can call the black squares white, lol, in chess any color pieces could be white as long as you play consistently, so why not the squares too?

    • @itsworthit5029

So you’re talking about the tile in the kitchen video? There’s such little tile, the weight is nominal. If you’re worried about it on your project there are other options besides tile and grout that you could entertain.

It slowly kinda rocks intake down in height because of all the leverage it has on the long sides.
