I have a M720S, with the same configurations of your (I5 9400). Its a great PC to me, and what do you think about it? I don't know why Lenovo made a tower version with the same configurations
I've used several of both models. Small form factor M720s is basically the exact same PC, but only takes a low profile cards. I think they make M720t so that they have support for high-profile cards.
Any idea how much power does something like this consume when on idle? I currently run a few services on the Dell optiplex micro with around 10W of consumption. I want to replace it with something I could fit a 3.5 inch drive in and still keep low power consumption. Would something like this fit the description?
Having a hard time getting this answer from Lenovo.... If I buy lower level processor and then decide to upgrade to a better processor - one listed as an option when I first buy the machine - is that something I can do myself or do I have to send it back to Lenovo? Thanks for your videos.
I don't believe it will fit, and it is certainly not capable of powering that card. Please read other comments for further details about how difficult it is to upgrade the power supply.
You can upgrade the RAM. This computer would only support a basic video card because of the limited power supply wattage. This power supply cannot really be upgraded either.
No, not easily at all. It uses a small form factor power supply that is not a standard size. It also uses a proprietary motherboard connector (10 pin) too. So, If you could find a power supply that physically fits, and get an adapter that would work, then it is possible but not easy. I have looked around for other Lenovo 10 pin PSUs with more wattage before, but I have yet to find one that will work.
No standard ATX power supply will fit. It is much smaller and you wouldn't have a way to attach it in the case. Also, FYI, there are issues with the adapters that turn the ATX 20 or 24 pin into the 10 pin motherboard connector needed. I've seen reports of the fan running on the PSU when the PC is off. I have also seen them mis-wired and blow up motherboards. @@ZipTieNinja So i have the M720t, do you think it'd be a good idea to get a new motherboard and a case so i can actually get a good PSU and use a Graphics Card, will i run into problems trasferring the parts over like the CPU? Im honestly very lost on what to do with the PC and thought id be able to upgrade it
The CPU and RAM will work fine with another motherboard, if you choose one that is compatible. The CPU fan may not. Windows will deactivate if you change motherboards, FYI. If you don't have experience installing CPUs you should ask someone that does for help. The pins in the socket are easily bent. I have seen multiple motherboards with bent CPU pins that are now paperweights. Clearly the don't intend for you to upgrade this PC much...
Basic gaming should be fine, but this will not support a gaming graphics card. It uses a proprietary power supply that does not have enough wattage for a serious card. The power supply cannot really be upgraded either.
DisplayPort is very easy to convert to HDMI but uses a locking connector. That is why it is used on Commercial PCs. Bluetooth is extremely easy to add if people need it, but unnecessary for most desktop PCs and therefore makes them more cost-effective if they don't include it.
oooooh look at this big boy😂 just bought a M900SF. I guess that's why you're in my FEEEEED 🐄. Nice Video!!
thanks for watching!
Great vid. From the external look, you would think you would be able to install 4 hard drives and make a decent home server or home lab machine.
Yeah, but I guess you do have an optical drive, M.2 nvme, and two 3.5" drives at least
Great video. I've made my decision and I think this computer will be great for when I start my RUclips chanel :)
Best of luck!
Display port use hdmi port or vga port ?

Ok i understood. And do you think it's a good PC in the moment? Because I think that I5 9400 is a great cpu
Yes!
Very helpful thank you

What do you think of the build quality of Lenovo Thinkcentre towers in general?
I think they are better than most factory built PCs. The other major manufactures are generally less reliable in my experience.
👏👏

Sir which is the mother board in this

Lenovo probably won't say they support that, but it should be fine. I've done it on other models before.
Thanks!
@@ZipTieNinja Thanks.
Do you think there is adequate space for a large graphics card like a gtx 1080ti?
I don't believe it will fit, and it is certainly not capable of powering that card. Please read other comments for further details about how difficult it is to upgrade the power supply.
@@ZipTieNinja thanks a bunch!
The rear fan space is 80mm or 120mm? Does it have sufficient port to power up a 3rd party fan module?
80mm. What type of fan module? There are 3-pin motherboard power connectors front and rear...
@@ZipTieNinja I was planning to buy Arctic F8 80mm Fan. Is the front fan same size like the rear one? Thanks for your reply.
Also, what is the air flow direction of the fan mounted on the CPU?
Both are 80mm
The CPU fan points down
Can you put a zotac 1060gb mini in it with 6 min psu
Can a Lenovo model fit a graphics card?
Yes, but only a very basic one. The power supply is only 210w so that doesn't leave much power to spare beyond what the system already consumes.
65w for the i7 + 75w for the Quadro...
That leaves 70w for the rest of the PC. It would be cutting it close, but I think it would work.
Is it possible for me to add the Asus Nvidia GT710 2GB into the PC?
Most sources say this card draws under 20 watts. So it should be fine
Can you upload a video of m920 tower too
I haven't had a chance to get one yet, but if I do, I will do a review.
Thanks!
A quick question, can I increase the ram or add a video card to it?
You can upgrade the RAM. This computer would only support a basic video card because of the limited power supply wattage. This power supply cannot really be upgraded either.
@@ZipTieNinja okay thanks
So can I put 750ti or gt 1030 on it?
The 1030 is 30 Watts. That should be fine. The 750ti is 60 watts, that will probably work but might be cutting it close
@@ZipTieNinja i don't know how i can thank you 🖤🖤

Can I fit my RX 460 with its 210 W power supply?
The i5-9400 draws 65w and the RX460 draws 75w, so that's a total of 140w leaving 70w for the rest of the PC. That should work.
Zip Tie Ninja Thank you for replying, I actually have i3 8100 and the recommended psu for rx 460 is 350W does it make a difference?
