Would love to see your take on a poison/fire build. Between burn and poison damage you can just sit back and watch enemies melt. Also poison lowers fire resistance, so it just synergizes well together.
Like the idea of the Azure Dragon Glaive paired with the Hundredforged Sabres - nice to have a weapon option that scales with this build and has those faster hits for when you need them
I'm running an even split with Wood and Earth, using the Lieutenant-General Armor since it's the heaviest, and the club from the General of Man. I use the "reduce damage and interruption" spell to let me just attack all out. Such a braindead build, I just run the entire level without even resting so that I can go back through for any missing marking flags without respawning enemies.
I didn’t use any material arts during my first play through. Just went with the deflect , deflect , attack , deflect strategy, and felt like the game was kind of to easy and repetitive. This makes me feel like it would be more fun to play the game using more of the mechanics available.
Overall I really liked this game. Some balance issues though. I soloed all the bosses and felt the challenge really dropped after Lu Bu. I never farmed and ended up LV 100+. I used a water/wood build with Qinglong the whole game. Fun stuff but Sekiro is still King of 3rd person action.
There is a bit of a flaw in the Earth stat even at 99 if your aiming for heavy armor and agility youll only have a B agility which is decent mobility for heavy armor but im sure theres some players out there that wish it was an A rank instead
beat the entire game using 99 earth, 5 water/metal, 10 fire, and i think 31 wood. armor was the Rampager set all 4* with the weapon, and the giant wolf club, all had attack, stone +10, and positive effect duration +15% after i beat this game i went back to nioh 2, i feel like after this game i wont be rushing to buy Rise of Ronin like i did this game, team ninja kinda lack lustered us on this one, its not a BAD game, but after i beat it he first time, no point in playing again, sorry not sorry. i’ll wait for reviews of rise of ronin this time.

Earth/Metal is a good combo. And for ng+ you can use grace of lingbao aka the debuff build

If i put earth damage on my armor and weapon do I get extra damage with my weapon that scales with earth or is it that just for earth spells?

Bro I still haven't gotten past the first boss. Then again I am playing other games as well.
They patched it to make him a proper tutorial boss now, so if you were having a hard time, it should be much easier for you.
