if you don't understand this song: basically, she's saying a thank you to pete davidson for his understanding of mac's passing. if you didn't know already, ariana had to break off her engagement with pete because she still loved mac, her ex boyfriend who she still had love for, but he passed. she is saying she knows it breaks his heart when she cries again over mac. but she is also saying that she can't get over mac, therefore she and pete needed to break up, because she knew her truest love was gone.

I dont know what to name myself it is super sad but it the final part is also imo easily the most beautiful thing she has ever done and maybe some of the most beautiful music i have ever heard. Great art is often made in super tough circumstances and this (sadly) is a perfect example. The harmonising and production is just totally next level (her idol Imogen Heap would be super proud)
I remember watching Pete's interview with Charlamagne when he said that he knew things were done between them after Mac passed because he didn't see how their relationship wouldn't be forever tainted by that tragedy, but he was prepared to be there until she didn't want him around anymore. The entire situation was so sad for everyone involved and you can feel that in this song.

The song helps me have understanding; I'm the Pete and he's the Ari, except these days he can leave me alone so much and just keep me in his phone. A lot of people like to critic Ariana or Pete for their behavior through this relationship. But that's plain simple. They loved each other but Mac's death triggered something. And there was no going back with Mac's death, she couldn't love Pete freely anymore. Love is complicated I wish both of them a lot of happiness.

"we'll get through this (...) and I love you, we'll get past this" they were maybe having some troubles before. But they were working on it. She really needs to get into some therapy. Theres 100% chance she feels a lot of guilt over Mac's death even though its not warranted. The internet didn't help with that either. I was never a huge fan of Ariana before this album. Her talent was obvious but I'm a person that loves to connect with an album. This Queen gave us an album that gives me every emotion and she stripped herself bare for us within her words. If this album doesn't leave you shook, girl can't relate.
Ghostin' is emotional and beautiful all at the same time. When there are too many emotional baggages to sort through, all you have running inside your head is stress and anxiety. Ariana sure knows how to connect well with listeners. The lyrics hit deeper than they should've been.

It's like a mantra for herself and an anthem to anyone who's going through something rn. She probably has like 2-3 songs per album that she writes but never releases. It's sad to think that she probably wrote this one shortly after Mac died, and while its a tribute its new to us a serves as a gentle reminder of him.
a fan once asked ariana in twitter for a book suggestion and ari responded with the friend by sigrid nunez. i looked it up and it a story about love, friendship, grief, healing, and a magical bond between a woman and a dog when the woman losed her lifelong best friend, and she finds herself burdened with the dog he left behind. i immediatly thought of ari, mac, and myron when reading that n now im sobbing, it hurts right in the heart 💔😭😭😭.

A lot of people like to critic Ariana or Pete for their behavior through this relationship. But that's plain simple. They loved each other but Mac's death triggered something. And there was no going back with Mac's death, she couldn't love Pete freely anymore. Love is complicated I wish both of them a lot of happiness.

"we'll get through this (...) and I love you, we'll get past this" they were maybe having some troubles before. But they were working on it. It's not easy to see the one you love crying for an ex, day and night I imagine. Then again it's just my assumption based on the song.
She really needs to get into some therapy. Theres 100% chance she feels a lot of guilt over Mac's death even though its not warranted. The internet didn't help with that either. They were so vicious to her when Mac died. I know her writing these songs is a form of therapy, but I think she needs someone who is outside looking in.

Ghostin' is emotional and beautiful all at the same time. When there are too many emotional baggages to sort through, all you have running inside your head is stress and anxiety. Ariana sure knows how to connect well with listeners. The lyrics hit deeper than they should've been.
"We'll get through this, we'll get past this. I'm a girl with a whole lot of baggage." This part of the song means a lot. It's like a mantra for herself and an anthem to anyone who's going through something rn. This doesn't only apply to mending a broken heart from past relationships but also for letting things go and eventually moving on with life. This song is definitely a raw masterpiece.

@FrxncheComfy The album summary on apple music says she recorded these as time passed over the past few months. I'm sure she wrote a lot of these over time, but it wasn't just in a few days. She probably has like 2-3 songs per album that she writes but never releases. It's sad to think that she probably wrote this one shortly after Mac died, and while its a tribute its new to us a serves as a gentle reminder of him.
