Leaving you wanting more hell yes. It looks awesome i love the 60s feel thanks for the preview
Stanisław Lem wrote the book, and many other great stuff : )
just started listening to it on Audible yesterday! Really enjoying it so far.
I can't wait for The Invincible to come out, not watching the video as to avoid spoilers but enjoy!
You shoulda watched it was a good tease
@@bobyjoe493 I don't want spoilers!
The demo was obviously done to give you no spoilers just a little taster
@@syberkailike they said ^^^
That's fine@@hush6149 , I still don't want to see anything
'Lobotomy!' got me! 😆
really looking forward to this, didn't know there was demo :)
I swear I love how you didn‘t comment unnecessarily and let the dialogues just play. Good job on the gameplay mate!
I see from comments that you've identified the author, Stanislav Lem. But in case you hadn't noted from other sources since; you'll likely most know the author's work from being the author of the book Solaris, from which the 2002 US, and the arguably better (if spookier, I feel, at least because it hasn't got George Clooney in it) 1972 USSR produced Sci Fi films of the same name were developed. Just in case that factoid makes you go "Ahhhh, so _that's_ Lem too, that explains a lot" :)
This game looks excellent especially if it keeps ramping up the tension. Not sure whether it's a walking sim or something morelike maybe Subnautica - with a bit more agency than doing what you're told. But either way, if it's long enough it'll still be a good experience by this quick look. I think there's still a lot of merit for "walking sims" that are well scripted immersive audio-visual books, so I'll be looking out for the future of this whichever path it takes.
Final note would be, by the way you explored in this, I wondered if you may have accidentally sped-run?, speed-runned, speed-ran, the demo? i.e. you went for a wander just for exploration's sake and got to that specific crew member trigger by accident to end the demo perhaps? dunno, but I suspect from your path and the few other clue/markers you saw in the game that there may be more to explore... but in many ways, if that _is_ the case then that's the fault of the game for being a bit too loose on the in game instruction, perhaps :)
I haven’t really gotten into Sci-Fi books until a few years ago. I read mostly Fantasy books when I was younger. But I’m listening to this one now on Audible and enjoying it.
I do think I missed a few things. At least two that I’ve seen others pick up.
dangit!! so many questions....so few answers, and Arti!!! what about Arti?!... very intrigued!
Stanislaw Lem is one of the founding fathers of modern SF. I'd never heard of this game but I am super intrigued now. (Shamed edit -- I did read it, for a college SF course in fact, but I remember very little of it. :| It was a long time ago ok?!)
It's very pretty but I'm a little concerned about the gameplay -- it's super-specific about some things (find x, do y) which don't really contribute other than as busy-work (since the story won't advance if you don't do them) but then completely silent about everything else. It currently feels very much on rails, so more of an interactive story, I guess. I could be ok with that, and aware that this is only a demo and thus only a very small slice (depth and width) of the game, but am left kind of ambivalent.
Also am getting a little bored of the fad for the 60s cosmonaut vibe, which so many games have had in the last few years (Deathloop comes to mind but there are a couple of others whose names I can't remember). It's a cool vibe, but becomes less so when everyone is using it -- although admittedly with good reason in this game.
Oooo great job on the cliffhanger though!
I just got it on audio book. Enjoying it so far!
That was cool.
The retro futurism in this game.
Loving the aesthetic here, feel like i'm inside an Asimov novel watching this.
This was making me real anxious.
Did you see Chenobyl?
This game sounds like that show did. Very little music, all you could hear was how F'd everyone was lol. That detector making little static pops the whole time, and the wind and no sound of anything else, people in charge who had no idea what to do trying to be nervously reasuring as the send people off likely to their death... its spooky. A sucess in the sound and atmosphere department. And the lack of tutorial really gives you that "woke up with no memory of anything" feeling. Wonder if you will be able to turn that HUD marker off so your really do gotta pay attention.
Its certainly not the colorful silly acid trip that NMS is.
Though obviously its some of the classic Sci Fi they borrowed from.
It reminds me of Metro Exodus.
I just finished the book it’s based on. Worth checking out if your into that.
This looks really interesting...
Why do you do this to me Bob... giving me more games to play... I already have over 100 games I want to play and complete.. and here you are making me add more to the list...
Thanks for the preview of the game :)
I honestly think this will be a fairly quick game. It doesn’t seem to be a sandbox so you’re gonna be limited in replay ability.
@@SurvivalBobGaming still... it looks gorgeous and if the gameplay will be engaging enough I think it would be a fantastic game to do a few streams on and get through the storyline :) especially since I love to have shorter games on saturday ;p
Yo Captain Steve, first off I love the nms vids. However I could have swore you said in this vid that there wasn't an exosuit station in the outlaw stations which is false there is an exosuit station in the tent thing to the left of the black market dealer and to the right of the station core.
ahh...you sure you're on the right vid buddy?
@@SurvivalBobGaming I didn't pause the video on my TV and typed that out on my phone it went to the next video haha sorry. Love your videos also pirate Bob
Do you think it would also be a ps5 release?
I only lasted about 5 minutes with this demo, unfortunately - mainly because of the voice acting, which is not good. Has that "I'm reading this off a script" feel, where all the emphasis and inflections were inappropriate (aka bad acting), that really breaks immersion, and since this is all about the story and intrigue, not really cutting it. Also, the movement and interactivity needs a lot of work. You can't walk over the slightest small rock if it doesn't want you to. I don't mind things being non-open world and on rails at all, but it was frustrating not to be able to just climb down a small slope and having to try various routes to make it a few metres. Additionally, the music was clearly trying to go for that creepy 70s/80s sci-fi synth vibe, which it kind of nailed, until you twigged it was looping and not dynamic to the events. Eeeh. I did want to like it, honest, because the vibe is totally up my street. Maybe they released the demo too early on in the development cycle.
FOV 50?
lol yeah
👍 3rd person or bust, I feel seasick.
I do like 3rd person!
Same, but sadly all these types of games are 1st person. One technical reason I can at least get behind is that it saves a lot by not having to animate the main character, which is costly on all fronts.
@@ysharros I used to be able to play 1st person but not any more. Enjoyed the Far Cry series and such.
Shouldn't be smoking in a bubble with oxygen in it... you realize you just described earth right?
Will suck just like cp2077. I guarantee it. 99% of the game you see here will not be in the actual game.
