      90% of taxi/Uber rides are by 1 or 2 people. Some of those people go to the airport so the need for a large trunk is more important than solving for the 10% of rides that have more than 2 people. For those, there's the rest of Tesla's lineup which will also have FSD. Also, fewer seats means the 2 front seats are more spacious, easier to clean the puke out of instead of having a bench in the back as well, and you're lugging less weight around town with you if you don't need the extra seats most of the time anyway making the cars more efficient and cheaper to build.

What Musk is trying to scam investors out of money for is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. We have ALREADY solved the matter of individual transportation.
      Cars need real drivers, because driving requires creative problem solving, something a computer cannot do. A computer that can think as creatively as a human would be a genuine sentient artificial intelligence.

    When you see the charts of stock prices, pause and look at the text below. You will see "P/E Ratio" with a number beside it. That is the 'price-earnings ratio' and is really important to understand when looking at publicly traded companies. P is the current share price and E is the last reported earnings per share (net income divided by the number of shares the company has issued). P/E ratio is one of the primary ways (objective) investors judge if a stock is over or undervalued. As discussed in the video, "tech" companies are seen as having more potential for rapid growth compared to companies that make and provide established products and services, ie. stuff that has been around for generations: dishwashers, fast food, banking, bricks, etc. Tesla's current P/E is 70.76. Compare that to: BMW 4.56, Ford 11.8, General Motors 5.51, Honda 6.76, Hyundai 4.66, Mercedes-Benz 5.32, Stellantis (Fiat, Chrysler, Peugot, & more) 2.82, Toyota 7.33, and Volkswagen 3.1. Crazy difference, huh? If Tesla is judged as just another automaker, its share price is somewhere between _6 and 25 times_ overvalued. Compared to BMW - which I think is being generous to Tesla, BMW is bigger and actually makes good cars - Tesla is overvalued 15.5 times. Imagine you are a Tesla investor who knows that if Musk's reality distortion field fails, your Tesla stock is going to lose 93.5% of its value. You are going to tell Musk to keep that distortion field dial turned up to 11 until you can sell your Tesla stock for more than you paid for it (keep in mind that a lot of people bought in when the share price was over $300).
    PS. Apple's P/E? 35.58. Tesla is overvalued _even as a tech company._

      Moscow busses and other public transit look nothing like they used to 30 years ago, but not because a guy like Musk came and started trowing cyber-futuristic crap around, but because the changes made actually helped and were welcomed by public. We have free wifi on busses and metro, we have free USB charging ports, the doors are wider so people don't have to bump into each other when walking out or in, the busses and trains themselves are wider (yes, even metro trains), the seats arrangement is better, all busses have easy wheelchair access and metro staitions have elevators for old and disabled people, we have super easy paying system (you don't even need to buy a ticket, just pay with your bank card/phone/ring/bracelet), we've got air-conditioning, displays in busses and trains that show the route and a few next stops so, even if you're unfamiliar with the area or listening to music, you can see where you are. Oh, and most busses in Moscow are now electrical. Innovation is good, but it has to come naturaly and fix the issues that are there, not invent problems to fix them.

    • @StreakyBaconMan
      @StreakyBaconMan Месяц назад +39

      Seems like what you're trying to say is that public transport is objectively better in every way, and the only possible reason anybody could have to want to travel any other way is they have sheer contempt for their fellow humans, which is just hyperbolic nonsense. There are many advantages to traveling via car that have nothing to do with other people. For example a car goes directly from where I currently am to the destination. I can transport stuff via car that I'm not going to get away with taking on a bus or a train. I have full control over the heating/cooling system. I am guaranteed to have a place to sit. The travel times are on average much shorter. Just to make things clear I am NOT against busses or trains - I take a train to and from work 5 days a week because it's cheaper, I don't have to deal with traffic or parking and I can just mess around on my phone during the journey. But if I am doing grocery shopping, or I want to see a movie, or go out to a restaurant for a meal I would prefer to drive in those situations because the distance I am traveling is much smaller, and the time spent walking to and from bus stops and waiting for them to arrive adds up a lot more on a short journey. A bus could take me up to an hour just in travel time to and from the grocery store, compared to just 20 minutes if I drove. I also don't have to worry about having too much shopping to get home with on a bus.
      I'd say the 'sheer contempt for fellow humans' thing DOES apply to Elon Musk - he wants to stop anybody building public transport infrastructure and instead pay him to do this type of garbage and he does not care enough about his fellow humans to give a damn that public transport overall would be a better thing to invest in for society than his trash that nobody asked for. I'm just saying it's ridiculous to imply that anybody who doesn't want to use public transport must have contempt for their fellow humans when there are a ton of legitimate reasons to want to use a car over public transport that have nothing to do with having contempt for people.

I'll take crappy presentation skills and a company that produces game-changing devices/products any day over a company that doesn't do anything but has a smooth-talking CEO. And for those that think Tesla is way behind, have a look at some of the latest EVs coming out of Korea, Europe, and China. You'll notice many features that were first pioneered by Tesla. Yet when you look at profit margins, Tesla is almost the only car manufacturer of EVs out there that produce their EVs profitably (with the exception of a few Chinese models for some of the Chinese companies). If Elon is all smoke and mirrors and Tesla is behind, then please explain why all the other manufacturers seem to not be able to produce an EV profitably? I'll wait...
