- Laboring in the liquid light of Leviathan
Spectres swarm around the sunken cities of the
Saurians
Rising up from the void through the blackness of
eternal night
Colossus of the deep comes crashing down with cosmic
might
And none may see again the shimmering of Avalon
Or know the fates of all the races man has cursed
Long gone are the ages of the Alchemists
Now there are none who know the secrets of the Earth
Harken to the howl of the huntsman's hounds
Or the clarion of kingdoms doomed and drowned
Lost to these lands is lore of the high ones
Sunless skies await the return of hte Archons
Lament the passing of the Auroch
And the slaying of the ancient wyrm
Would you dare to meet the gaze of the Basilisk
Or face the flames as the Phoenix burns?
And none may see again the shimmering up of Avalon
Or know the fates of all the races man has cursed
Long gone are the ages of the alchemists
Blessed are those who keep the secrets of the earth
Lament the passing of the Auroch
And the slaying of the ancient wyrm
Would you dare to meet the gaze of the Basilisk
Or face the flames as the Phoenix burns?. Видеоклипы
That 1 person that clicked thumbs down should be kicked in the dick for not liking this song. This track is fucking heavy as hell!
+RaiderDonnie I think there are five dislikes now. I'll take care of them lol
It was probably Adam Levine.
This fucking album is and was and will always be so fucking epic. When this came out in 2006 we just drove around with the speakers up as loud as fucking possible and headbanged this shit all day.
Same.
I was the same wày when Slayer's first album dropped in '83 😁😁😁
The only thing missing from this jam is a 20 sided dice
definitely didn't just come to this song while making a playlist for a Rifts character
This album has literally inspired me to write a new D&D campaign!
This one is real. We'd be busy head-banging.
Ann an non-player character named "Spicer" 🤙🌅👍😁🍒
@@skiddyfiskno stranger to the Bong, I assume 🎉🌅🤟🤙
this is the music to which my children will all be conceived.
Rip in peace, Mighty Cow.
I CANNOT MAKE THIS LOUD ENOUGH
Best track off their best album. Riffs in this song are fucking incredible.
Agreed indubitably
I love this song so stoopidly much. Those riffs? They don't just shred ... they shred like a chainsaw made of flaming sharks with frickin' lazer beams.
It's those fucking cymbals that Trivett had! So goddamn heavy!
Dude it was always a pleasure to watch him play. Sucked when he left, he was the best musician in the band.
this guy is a lyrical genius. The guitar is genius. Hell its all genius.
Oh my fucking fuck, I just discovered this band, and I can't stop listening. I love the use of rests toward the beginning, it adds a very different, dramatic effect to the experience.
I still think this is their best song.
2022. Aurochs still gone. Just miss those homies. Hurts so bad.
Aurochs and tarpans are still alive in German forests, at least their genetically engineered grandchildren are...
It really is sad that the Auroch is extinct.
They're alive in the black forest in some form or another
The ultimate stoner/doom metal epic masterpiece!
I WISH TO KEEP THE SECRETS OF THE EARTH
WE SHALL BECOME THE NEW ALCHEMISTS
I fuckin love this song. Its soooo damn heavy, but like.... still chill enough to just smoke a blunt and chill
Saw The Sword with Clutch in Philly a month or two ago, best concert ive been to.
And none may see again the shimmering of Avalon,
Or know the fates of all the races man has cursed.
Long gone are the ages of the Alchemists,
Now there are none who know the secrets of the Earth.
As an alchemist, I know, and I will look up on Avalon and ponder the accursed races man has vanquished.
The Auroch, unlike most of the mythical creatures in the song was an actual early bovine (now extinct). The bulls had spectacular horns.
"Would you dare meet the gaze of the basilisk
Or face the flames as the phoenix burns?"
Wesley Jakesta so cool
IKR? The lyrics are too good
Easy, face the flames as the phoenix burns. I don't need a basilisk staring me down.
Reminds me of LOTR where over time Men become the dominant force and the other races decline or become extinct (Numenorians ,Elves, Dwarves, Dragons)
Don’t forget about the Maiar
Jesus Christ what an epic song!
The be-all end-all of brutal, heavy, doom, stoner rock! Crank it UP!
ABSOFUCKINGLUTLY.
This song is fucking awesome. Unique riffs, solid drums and vocals equals the perfect energy flow.
6:41 Favourite riff ever, they only put it in once too!
Exactly!
The drums on this are fucking outstanding.
such a wicked album. fucking amazing.
This song is about the way things in the Old World used to be and how these days we as humans are a weak and wretched shadow of our ancestors
the first verse is about how we've been subjugated by the shackles of evil and greed doomed to live and die without ever experiencing anything of importance
They hit the nail on the head then. While there are a lot of good things to be said about the things that modern society brings (hooray for antibiotics), we've really become a decadent race, trading our dignity for safety and comfort.
Very true
Yes, brother
Allerdyne Yes indeed. What ever happened to courage, virtue, and taking a stand for the greater good.
Nowadays the only thing that matters to everyone is sexual orientation, safe spaces, political correctness, and how offended you get about anything.
Love the ending of this song, they close so stronk.
As soon as he starts singing, it's like a dense layer of heavyness being thrown right at you with the force of a freight train.... then that moment of tranquility at 2:27 - 2:41....then it hits you again. Phwoaar. /,,/
Absolutley fantastic tune
This is their best song.
47k views after only 5 years? This makes me really really sad. PFP the best intro to a metal song ever.
cloudparter You mean only 47k wiews after 5 years?
Eh hey there don't discount The Art of Shredding. Or Last Rites/Loved to Deth. Or The Coming Curse.
these are some of the greatest heaviest riffs i have ever heard and this band is amazing live.
Pure escapism, swords and sorcery fantasy, which is sometimes exactly what is called for. I witnessed The Sword Live, just a bunch of guys with really long hair and really heavy chains. Unfortunately their sound system wasn't up to the appalling acoustics of the Prudential Center in Newark and it much of it turned into sludge. I blame the venue, not the band; only Metallica's system could blast something through recognizable as music. The Sword did the best they could however and I salute them for it.
They sounded killer at The Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon when they opened for Kyuss. Stole the show. Between The Sword and YOB I didn't even need Kyuss to take the stage.
Best metal band to come out in decades.
That marching snare roll..........,....,......,....,....,....
I got this album for Freya but this song really stood out to me. It's fucking awesome
+El Burrito You're goddamn right it is. Laboring in the liquid light of Leviathan
I'm Riff Harrison, and this my Riff Shop
Old meme but good meme
Who's this Riff Harrison?
This song was sent to us from Avalon
this is their best album.
BEST SONG EVER!!!!!!!
Massive.

GODDAMM HEADPHONES FLEW OFF MY HEAD ROCKING OUT.
Mastodon+Wolfmother for me hahaha. Just discovered this band. SO DAMN GOOD.
Better than both those bands lol
Love this song. Reminds me of Black Sabbath+Clutch=Badassery.
Dio would be proud. ❤
The lyrics are good, and I love the vocals. I wouldn't call it genius as much as I would awesome.
This is definitely my favorite song from Age of Winters, the lyrics just blow me the fuck away. Cannot wait for Apocryphon!
Sunless skies await the return of the Archons!
The beasts will come again
@Jack Fleck your a bitter little man
this song makes me want to skate.
So good...so so so good!!
best song...
reminds me of a stoner rock version of mastodon. Love it!
best sword song.. so DOOOOM
looking back this was always my favorite song, cant stand any of the new crap, this album and the 2nd one were the best, true heavy takes me back to high school woods fires parties, great band sorry to slag their new shit but honestly this was the best record.
The Auroch is my spirit animal 🤘🤘
I can't toke and folk anymore. I'm comforting simple folks for however long it takes them to get wherever. It's more complicated than it sounds.
God bless the children.
Kinda reminds me of old school Black Sabbath. In a few songs -as weird as it sounds- I can hear maybe a slight dash of Skynyrd or maybe Molly Hatchet in the singing style. Whatever it is, I like it.
BADASS!
this is pretty cool
Who the fuck be hating this song yo...
well said
That sounds like a kick ass show, my man.
I listen to this album, clutching my seax ... waiting for the day to make it fat with blood
Nice.
It's like Mastodon+ Wolfmother hahaha. F*cking incredible!
JUD meedley mee JUD JUD meedley meedley mee

ಥ⌣ಥ It's so beautifull!
SMASH !!! Hell Yesh !
\m/ THIS IS MUSIC!
One Aurochs. Two Aurochses. Sorry JD.
Maybe this is my inner Tolkien nerd speaking, but I can't be the only one who thinks this song is based off of The Silmarillion.
Jables92 i thought dr who .-. the lizardpeople who live beneath the earth's crust
+hellsoul0 Lots of bands in this genre dig conspiracy theorists like David Icke, Matt Pike of High on Fire references stuff like this all the time
Jables92 now that you mention it, I didn't think of that first but I kinda see it now
Jables92 I only read the silmarrilion once or twice, but it’s good no matter what
2:23 holy f*ck
Not bad 👹
as I get the cd order home - made from the Amazon/apocalyptic waves and heavy tunes out from my Stereo/I'm checking all the Sword's cds out in the Catalog/ Blunt burning fogs heavy all around the Air.
best fucking song ever shit when i die i want played at my funeral
HOW to pay a bar tab: Give The Sword hoodie to her.
I just came
Theme of the Besaid Aurochs?
lyrics are beyond
The Auroch, the spirit of Europa, truly passed away in 1945 in that bunker in Berlin. May it be Reborn! AVE!
cringe
Reminds me a bit of some Sleep influence
His singing reminds of frank zappa a bit.
@Ennight Better think again dude, Oorah.
Too good. Take it off the internet i want my life back
@ThirdEyeCrow No mortal band could possibly be compared to THE SWORD
Earbuds, why you no louder?!
This first album I considered epic nerd metal lol
This song rapes* my soul
*You can't rape the willing
If they’d remaster this album without the cymbals cranked up I’d buy it for $100.
You kidding? The cymbals make the song!
