this is actually super important, because while they used a real house for outside shots, they actually replicated the interior of the house in an empty concrete warehouse so they could move the walls around to make sure they could get all of their shots, but ALSO because the empty warehouse made the screams sound way more intense. The sound in this movie is very deliberate.

This reminds me of the time that I was woken up by frantic knocking at like 7 am and without thinking I stumbled to the door, without my glasses, and opened it a crack. All I could see was the silhouette of a blonde woman smiling and she said, in this like child-like voice, "is your mom home?" I felt my heart stop because I suddenly remembered this damn movie, and then she giggled and said, "can I come in and play?" I slammed the door shut so hard and ran to my room. I tried watching her from my window and saw she just stood there for like five minutes before she left. The whole day I kept jumping at small noises or shadows in the house. My mom later scolded me for slamming the door on Rebecca. I was like "who is Rebecca???" What my mom had not told me was that she had befriended a new neighbor who was intellectually disabled. I met her later and she was that blonde woman from the door, perfectly sweet and harmless🤦 I felt so bad lmao

I saw the premiere of this movies in theatres, won the tickets and the part where the masked man appears behind her in the house a dude walked into the theatre through the emergency Exit and made all light shine in so everyone in the theatre looked over at him and he froze and the door swing closed but smacked him in the face before doing so, was hilarious! I saw this movie once alone. It was on HBO and I didn't know much about it. It was traumatizing because I housesitting at the time for my aunt who was out of town for the weekend; she doesn't lives in the woods but the area is rural. Her house is towards the end of a street that's a bit further away from the other homes. This movie go me so paranoid, I locked all the doors, windows, and even went up to where their attic is and made sure the lock was tight; it's one of those old ones that you pull the handle from the ceiling to unfold the stairs? Yup, locked that up tight, lol. Luckily, the second night my boyfriend and my cousin came to stay the last night. I've seen it since then but usually w/a group of friends.
Honestly, I've been so stressed out these past few days. It's cause of finals season on my end. I'm relieved that I get to watch ZZAVID's commentaries somehow...they lighten up my mood and spirits altogether, and that's a good thing 😊

"Because you were home," That shit is so simple that it's terrifying. Kind of reminds me of a killer I read about: It took place somewhere in the 50s or 60s, I can't even remember about. And this killer would go to people's houses and try to open their doors, and he explained that if the door was locked, then he would leave because that meant he was "Not welcomed" in the home, but if the door WAS unlocked, then he would allow himself in and kill whoever is in the house because he "Was welcomed in their home" because the fucking door was unlocked. It's so scary to think that something so simple and easy to forget can lead you to your death.

I saw the premiere of this movies in theatres, won the tickets and the part where the masked man appears behind her in the house a dude walked into the theatre through the emergency Exit and made all light shine in so everyone in the theatre looked over at him and he froze and the door swing closed but smacked him in the face before doing so, was hilarious!

1. Storytime: This movie was my stepping stone into loving the horror genre (alongside The Haunting in Connecticut). As a kid (8-ish), I was a bit of a brat, and growing up in a Hispanic household that didn’t fly well HAHA. So, my uncle took it upon himself to punish me by making me watch scary movies. Nightmare on Elm Street? HATED IT. Child’s Play? Hello, newfound fear of dolls 👋🏼. But, The Strangers? I was still terrified, but it struck a weird chord. IDK why🤷🏽

What really fucks me up about this movie is when the guy is alone with her in the kitchen. Not only is he there and she doesn’t fucking KNOW, it’s the way they show him getting closer. Not gonna lie, the camera work in this movie is GREAT!
What I love about the Strangers in their first outing is that they mess with the couple. They have many chances to kill them, but they like to draw it out. Build up the fear in them before killing them. And they just happened to pick them out of anyone.

I saw this movie once alone. It was on HBO and I didn't know much about it. It was traumatizing because I housesitting at the time for my aunt who was out of town for the weekend; she doesn't lives in the woods but the area is rural. Her house is towards the end of a street that's a bit further away from the other homes. This movie go me so paranoid, I locked all the doors, windows, and even went up to where their attic is and made sure the lock was tight; it's one of those old ones that you pull the handle from the ceiling to unfold the stairs? Yup, locked that up tight, lol. Luckily, the second night my boyfriend and my cousin came to stay the last night. I've seen it since then but usually w/a group of friends.
Honestly, I've been so stressed out these past few days. It's cause of finals season on my end. I'm relieved that I get to watch ZZAVID's commentaries somehow...they lighten up my mood and spirits altogether, and that's a good thing 😊

"Because you were home," That shit is so simple that it's terrifying. Kind of reminds me of a killer I read about: It took place somewhere in the 50s or 60s, I can't even remember about. And this killer would go to people's houses and try to open their doors, and he explained that if the door was locked, then he would leave because that meant he was "Not welcomed" in the home, but if the door WAS unlocked, then he would allow himself in and kill whoever is in the house because he "Was welcomed in their home" because the fucking door was unlocked. It's so scary to think that something so simple and easy to forget can lead you to your death.

This is my fave reaction video of yours! I grew up on horror movies in a suburban bubble so this home invasion genre is just a fun ride to watch. This movie came out when I was 17 and I saw it with a friend at the movie theater. I fell in love with the poster for the movie. I thought the family had a great in sync wardrobe especially with the masks. Your reaction video is way better than the movie itself in this day and age though
