    Thank you for your blogs! They’ve been a massive help to me. Advanced level exams in July….not feeling confident at all. Starting questions but just get overwhelmed by the volume of information.

      Appreciate the kind words thank you! And honestly what you are feeling is soo normal the amount of content is insane - keep pushing and things will slowly piece together 🤞 good luck!

    Hi,
    I got exemptions for first two levels, therefore I only have the advanced level. I have time and I'm thinking of doing many subjects in advanced level as I can. Can I sit for all three in July at once or have to do case after passing CR & SBM?

    • @jagsjourneyblog
      @jagsjourneyblog  7 месяцев назад

      Wow, congratulations! In theory you should be able to sit all three at once and many do choose to do this. One thing to consider though is whether you are on the Apprenticeship route and have passed the gateway review. You can only sit if you have completed 12 months of your apprenticeship already. More information can be found here: www.icaew.com/for-current-aca-students/level-7-accountancy-professional-apprenticeship-student-guide - I hope this helps and all the best!

    It took me 2 attempts over 2 exam windows to pass BPT in 2021 and I’m scarred. Would you say CR and SBM are easier? I’m hoping they’re easier

    • @jagsjourneyblog
      @jagsjourneyblog  2 года назад +1

      Sorry to hear how difficult you found BPT but congratulations on getting through!
      Content wise, as there is much less new content I think it is easier initially to grasp CR and SBM than BPT. CR and SBM are easier in the sense of knowing what the question is asking for too.
      However, I did find CR harder than BPT only because I was scarred from the exam I had. The exam really is pot luck and can be made to be very difficult or it can be decent depending on the Audit and Assurance aspects too.
      Whereas with BPT you can start picking up lots of easy marks if you identify the relevant tax, for CR and SBM you do need to know much more about what you are doing and need to understand the content well.
      I think with BPT I practiced a lot and ended up not finding it too bad but struggled more with the time pressure.
      How difficult you find CR and SBM in comparison will definitely be impacted by your accounting knowledge. I thought I would do well in CR but the exam really does drill into the standards and for me it made me realise I did not know the content as well as I thought I did.
      I hope this helps shed some light!

    How intense was sitting both advanced together compared to intensity of sitting 3 professional at once?

    • @jagsjourneyblog
      @jagsjourneyblog  2 года назад +1

      If I think about this carefully, I actually think sitting three Professional Level exams at once was more intense.
      This is because depending on your sittings with the three at once, there is usually a lighter exam but then there are also two exams with a lot of content for each. You still would aim for getting through all of the QB questions for 2/3 exams and still need to get through the lighter exam enough. It is a big step up from Certificate Level and it is a lot of new content to understand and apply. I remember feeling much more stressed for three at a time, especially leading up to the exams than the two Advanced.
      As moving onto these two, CR and SBM do overlap in content, which actually then makes it nicer in the sense that revising for one still benefits the other. They are also completely open book. However, this honestly brings a lot of difficulty because of just how much content there is. The QB questions are much longer and more draining to get through too but by this stage you know the majority of content already. I think the focus is more so having a good grasp of the wide range of content and being able to apply it to questions. Where I would recommend getting through all of the QB for Professional Level exams (excluding those lighter exams), I wouldn’t say it helps as much for Advanced.
      If you have seen my difficulty video, I did find CR to be the hardest exam. Leading up to the exam I would probably not have thought this but my exam was awful and it made me realise how difficult the CR can be made to be.
      Coming back to your question, I would say sitting two Advanced was less intense for the reasons given above but it does not mean the exams are easier.
      Hope this helps!

    Hey Jag, I’m sitting both CR and SBM this July, how many days study leave do you think I need to take to pass?

    • @jagsjourneyblog
      @jagsjourneyblog  2 года назад +1

      Hey, so it would depend on how much time you can put in leading up to the exams around work too. If we say you could do a question an evening up to the study leave then 1.5 weeks should be enough. The CR and SBM overlap in content will help here too.
      For the study leave itself I would advise focusing on really building/knowing your open book files inside out as well as understanding the content.
      For CR I thought I had a decent understanding of some topics but the exam ripped it apart haha so definitely take the time to consolidate all your understanding as well as doing further practice questions.
      Also make sure to leave some questions unseen for closer to the exam. Assuming you’re studying with a tuition provider such as Kaplan they should tell you which not to do. I think this is quite important for these exams as they are completely open book.
      Hope this helps!

    How long does it take to complete ACA Advanced Level?

    • @jagsjourneyblog
      @jagsjourneyblog  Год назад

      The Advanced Level exams can only be sat in November or July sittings and all three can be sat together. However, the final Advanced Level Case Study exam has to be sat last so after completing all other 14 ACA exams.
      In which case, it really depends on how long it takes you to get through all exams. I managed do it in 2 years 2 months which is quite quickly but typically it is just under 3 years but of course may vary person to person.
      Hope this helps!
