Great loco as you say Ian, i picked up the BOB version summer 23 from Chester models for a reasonable 195. Another cracking paint job and a lovely display model.
I messed out on the BOB, but may look out for one, I bet the prices are high, I will take a look, anyway may thanks for watching and taking the time to message.
I was one of those that hadn't seen the original content so sorry. I know the locomotive was a limited edition, but I must have missed how many were made and I'll look it up. The lighting situation was interesting and thanks for the addition of the clarifying blurb and I assume you were thanking David from Hornby, nice touch they do get beat up quite often. Great video, Jersey Bill
The clarifying Blurb was from a viewer first time round, the lighting had me really puzzled until David messaged me. I assume Hornby would think with us being train enthusiasts we would know about the lights, a nice touch to add the switch, but not sure it was necessary. All the best Matt
Great video overall here Dusty Shelf Collectables, I did leave a comment on the original video you made on this loco, overall it is a very good model from hornby, I have the Intercity Swallow version from myself and currently have had it for just over a year, overall it’s been a fantastic model for me, it was one I was always going to buy as the original older 91 I have just struggles with the long rake of mk4 coaches I have, I am looking at getting mine dcc sound fitted in the future as the 91s are known for their very unique sound, mainly the startup that they do when leaving stations, when it comes to running again this is excellent, it’s haulage capability is also fantastic, as I said that’s why I bought the new one myself as my older hornby one was struggling with the long rake of coaches I have, onto those coaches though I have a rake of 8 older hornby mk4 coaches and the new DVT and it hauls those very well, I would have had a 9th mk4 but unfortunately that went missing in the post so never received it but more than confident it would have handled the extra coach without any issue, overall for me it’s been a great loco for me and one I have enjoyed having, there are some things that I don’t like on it like the plastic pantograph but when it comes to it’s main function which is running I can’t fault it and when running it with a long rake of mk4s and the DVT it just looks excellent, I live not very far from the east coast mainline specifically the line between Doncaster and Leeds which has really been good for spotting them as currently apart from a couple of runs to York their main duties are the London to Leeds services so I get to see them quite regularly, a few months ago I managed to get 2 trips on the real ones from Leeds down to London then back to Leeds which is something I have wanted to do before they come up for retirement, great video overall, keep up the great work.
Hi David, I did quote and thank you in this re run video regarding the lighting. Many thank for sharing its good to hear you class 91 is running well, I an thinking about some track changes and replacement to ensure better running. Thank you for for kind words and continued support, All the best Matt
I bought one of these fairly recently and put sound in it. I bought the BOB version too and some Mk4 coaches. Although I collect WWI stuff and have been to the battlefields about 50 times, I wasn't interested in the class 91 at the time so ended up paying more for it. I did a film on the Sherwood Forester last year but not much interest in it. The Harry Patch loco goes for even more. I did a WWI themed Christmas video with Silent Night in German and English a couple of years ago.
Apologies for not responding sooner, I missed out on the BOB loco, I wish I gone for it but needed to watch the funds. I wasn't aware of the Harry Patch loco thanks something to look into and I will take have a look at the Silent night video later thanks. RUclips is so strange, a video that takes hours and you believe is fab gets a hand full of view and then others get crazy views, anyway all the best Matt.
Apologies for not responding sooner, I do think its one of their best, but not a great runner, how does you one run? anyway many thanks for watching and taking the time to message.
Dusty. LNER are still operating four sets of a Class 91 plus Mk4 carriages and DVT between Leeds and Kings Cross. I always book on this service when i head up to Town from Wakefield. Superior to the Azuma sets in my opinion
thanks so much for the info I will investigate further many years since I have used the train for a long distance - Many thanks for watching and taking the time to message.
Haha The real Class 91 train weighs significantly more than the model. The actual weight of a Class 91 locomotive is approximately 85 tonnes (or 83,900 kilograms). This is a massive difference compared to the 531 grams of the model. The scale of 1:76 means that the model is much smaller and lighter than the real thing, allowing it to be easily handled and run on model railway tracks.
Yeh, I appreciate weight for weight would be significantly different, until the train is in motion then I am scratching my head over dimensional analysis and Buckingham π theorem, been a few years since I used that and would that apply for scaled momentum and inertia? I know a tong in cheek comment about the weight but has got me thinking if there is a video in there somewhere, anyway thanks for a bit of fun.
Apologies for not responding sooner - oh so it not just mine then what a shame, still looks the part though. Many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
I personally won’t pay hornbys extortionate prices.i would sooner go to accurascale better quantity locos and priced at a reasonable price.hornby are taking the piss.

9:15 does the weight weigh in to scale?
That would be funny, never thought of checking it to scale, thanks for the idea! many thanks for watching and taking the time to message.
531g u do the math😊

Shame really. But totally impractical for sure..😊
