it is Atma it solely refers to pure consciousness or witness-consciousness, beyond identification with phenomena. In order to attain moksha (liberation), a human being must acquire self-knowledge (Atma Gyaan or Brahmajnana).
While rooh means arabic translation of soul a countable noun. A person's soul is the spiritual part of them which some people believe continues existing after their body is dead.
Rooh is just a cheap copy of English word soul in Arabic a blind belief nothing else .

Suffered for severe anxiety and depression. I couldn't come out of this darkness. I'm a muslim and for a few days I listened to this mantra. It's healed me from my condition to the extent I became grateful for my life, my surroundings and everything the Lord has given to me. Story goes that Adi Sankara came across his future Guru (Govinda Bhagavatpada) and asked him if Sankara could become his disciple. The Guru asked Adi Sankara who he was and why he should bother making him his disciple, to which Adi Sankara improvised and sang this 6 stanza poem ("Shatakam"), basically saying i am the nameless, formless, limitless, pure consciousness "Shiva". In Sanskrit, "Shivoham" is a joint word (called Sandhi) of "Shiva" + "Aham", literally meaning "I am the Shiva". Pleased with Sankara's spiritual evolution, Govinda accepted him as his disciple.

Brought up in church started in India 🇮🇳 moved to Canada 🇨🇦 1971,was drawn to native stuff was a Cree last life, was even led to my old land during healers gathering,Dejavu it was land was alive,smell of dew,sage &sweet grass were in the air..a big ball of orange sun reminiscent of a gigantic full moon except it was the sun...I felt full of energy..I am listening to this its on my Playlist ..I listen to eastern music all kinds hi ndi music,healing music,this song is too,flute music native ,Hindu, Buddhist,Tibetan, all,healing,relaxing,chilling puts me in a different frame if mind...I have been to every house of worship temples,Hindu sikh,mosque,church(least appealing,actually no appeal)in India and Canada all these places give me solace,quiet places to relax and a very good place to gather your thoughts...was even touched by a diety in a calgary Hindu temple yet no one that I could see,was last row sitter,didn't spook me,the power of chanting was overwhelming..last house of worship is to go to the synagogue, all have same message..but I can't do the church thing anymore,its about oppression,and scare tactic.and some bad dark action,with a sick and solid history with kids...jai ho❤
