  • Whether you're working in Session View or Arrangement View, it can be very useful to be able to show the currently playing audio or MIDI clip in the Clip View. This video tutorial in the Ableton Live Insider Tips series shows you a quick and easy way to do exactly that. By having this ability you can access the clip and make changes on the fly as needed.

Thank you for this and all other VERY useful tips and insights. I'm struggling with management of plugin controls - particularly their names. Ableton does not allow aliasing of badly named controls - after they're added using the "Configure" function. They can sometimes be inscrutable or way too long. It's especially problematic with Push. Macros are a possible solution, but they add steps to the workflow, and are one directional. Any tips you could share on the topic? Much appreciated!

I'll think about the issue. Macros might be the only solution though. At least what I can think of right now.

Technically this should be possible with Max for Live. You chould check maxforlive.com if anyone has already made a device for it. I don't remember having seen one, but I definitely see everything there.
