You can get a running car at close to nothing these days. Not a good one, and not one that is expected to last long. But a running and driving car for under $100, definitely.

here in Germany, a friend of mine got an Opel Corsa B for a crate of beer, had an accident which the car didnt survive and then went on and got another Corsa B for not really that much more.
So here it is actually possible to get a running Car for
and also if you do not care that your car will not be able to get approved for further use on puplic roads IF it already has one. So it will be a short time with the car since the you have to get older cars checked every year.
Yeah, here in the States, you get a car worth $200, it's basically a rolling chassis. Sometimes it has a seized engine in it. Haha

@hugo rewucki i dont think it hydrolocked tbh, I just think the air filter was soaked in muddy water and it just choked. Happened to me before while driving through floods. I had a spare filter, the engine quickly restarted.

my father gave me his 94 lancer glxi and my father worked with it he went offroad up mountains with a 4 door saloon and it still works like new in 2017 as daily driver and even after so many years its still fast and reliable and comfortable for long hour drives.Mitsubishi used to be no1.

I had a Space STar for my very first car, my mom got it brand new. At one point it is so sad to see such a great car being treated this way, but on the other hand I am honestly quite impressed of how good it actually handled it. I know for a fact that you dont ever get stuck with a Space Star because it has almost all its weight on the front wheels, but I do know that it also gives it somewhat.. Interesting characteristics on gravel roads......
A bit sad, but mostly impressive! And yes, I miss my lovely Mitsubishi

Once owned a Fiat Seicento, myself and 2 other friends bought it for €80. It was just so much fun. 900cc of pure power. Was a 5 speed, but 5 didnt really work. It took the driver and the passenger to get it into first gear (Often had to use your leg to push it in). Eventually gave up one night in the lashing rain, had to walk a couple miles to get another car to pull it home in the dark and rain. Tried to get it running then. While testing to see if the engine was seized we put fuel directly into the carb, This was the end of the Shittysento as it went on fire :)

yes cars are actualy tougher then you belive. i dialy my toyota corolla 1990 like he does in this video whit his spacestar. and my toyota still lives. well the gearbox leaks so i have to refil the oil every 3days and the oil pan leaks and the right suspension bursted...... but it starts on the first push of the button ( lost my key so its hotwired and has a start button)

Now that is content ! I loved the video. And Japanese cars... you just gotta love em. My father has a still running mazda 626 from 1992. so 27 years. And it is literally unbeatable. It's a freakin legend. If something breaks we get car parts from the junkyard for max 20 euros. My dad uses it as a work car. Basically goes around forests where you could just "hang" the car of how shitty the roads are. Most of the time he used to go there in winter. If you know a mazda 626 they are these long, low and lightweight cars, so in winter the snow was pretty high, and these roads rarely driven through (mostly trucks drive there). Yet the mazda goes through snow easily and comes back in one piece ready to drive again. My dad is a person hard to impress. But one time he came back and said "I went to the forest and saw the snowy roads i got a bit concerned that i might need to call someone who owns a truck or something, but when i started driving through them i thought that the car is gonna die on me at first and i'm pushing it to its limits, but it kept going and pushing through valiantly,didn't give up on me. Not a single time. Now THAT is a car".
Well I didn't intend to go off road with my space star 2001 but I am impressed by the amount of torture it can take.
