Your videos are so refreshing, calming and full of knowledge. I am learning a lot from them and planning to implement the knowledge I learned in my retirement years and even before that 😊
That was a refreshing listen, because that is almost spot on to how I feel. Outlook and taking control with a positive strategy. It all makes perfect sense. I live in London. I am 62 and there’s so much for me to do and I love the city and its history. The thing that I don’t understand is why many cannot seem to find the courage to be who they wish to be. I often think that certain types of humanity don’t wish to be freed? Thank you for sharing. I believe you are helping many others.
Hello Nick i turned 60 this year and I can sense my body is slowing down I loved your list . I love walking I live near the coast so going to the beach most days keeps me sane.Love your micro adventures going to start doing them. Great idea.
Thanks for your endorsement. I’m envious of your beach location. If I can get the wife to agree, I’ll be moving to Portugal for beach life too! Enjoy your microadventures.
61 this week. I work for a corporate and have failed miserably to get a redundancy package, last year was convinced my number was up, so I bought a sailing boat ready to live the Dream. A year later its costing me a bloody fortune in mooring fees! So taking it as a dry run to retirement, I ceased to get stressed about work (all that BS about being committed to "The Team") and make sure I take all the 6 weeks hols. I'm maxing the salary sacrifice, the problem now is that it looks like Labour are going to stuff up pensions. Have started doing much of what you recommend such as good sleep, good food, less booze, plus last month I cycled the C2C in 3 days and nothing broke (me or the bike). So easing into those micro adventures.
Nick, you're right on every aspects of the subject of enjoying life and to live longer. I totally agree with you there immensely - especially after seeing individuals and relatives contending with health issues over time and seeing their mobility slowly ebbing away whilst losing their quality of life. @@nickjmaher I also really like the walking ones that seem unscripted and from the heart as you walk around the lovely city of York and you have a few points you wish to cover and then let your mind fill in the rest as you are a really good talker and speaker. When done from this perspective they really come across well as if we're on a walk together and you say those famous words - "Do you mind if I give you a bit of advice?"!

100% with your strength work. I'm a cycling coach and most of the blokes I coach are over 40. I'm trying to push them all into weight training not necessarily to make them faster cyclists but healthy humans. I know so many old cyclists who are fit but a mess because literally everything but they're quads have wasted away. The term is sarcopenia as you say and it should be up there with cancer and heart disease as the big game changers for the elderly
Sleep well do you? Wait until your Prostate plays up. Something to look forward too. LOL Keep up the motivational videos and exercise. I bicycle, motorcycle and do light weights but do not attend a gym. Like rubber band and stretching and isometric exercises uses own muscles. 69 now near 70 and way fitter than my father and grandfather at this age. Totally cut out alcohol when prostate issues arose and have saved money, mental and physical health by cutting out that toxin intake. Cheers from Australia.
My main pastime is playing Picklball, Badminton, Racket Ball and Beach Paddle almost every day of the week. Plus swim and run quite often too. Oh and weights as well. As for diet, try and keep away from all processed foods, don’t have breakfast 3 times a week. I’m 72 6ft and 74kilos! Seems to be working 😊

Really like your routine. Do you ever nap or would that disrupt your ability to sleep at midnight? Like your shows, too. Have you watched Dexter? I have not seen Bosch but I heard it was quite good. I do a 20 minute no equipment and a 20 minute weights workout to try to keep those old muscles. And I have to ensure I get lots of protein every day. I also have read about loss of muscle mass as you age. Very good point. I am totally off booze, too. I found I didn't really like it much and mostly drank just to be sociable. To help get a good quota of sleep, the exercise thing is important (for me - typically cycling). A day w/o exercise means I rarely sleep so well. Having accumulated joint pain issues over my lifetime, I've found that taking *one* or sometimes two, Ibuprofen 200mg makes it easier for me to get a more optimal night's sleep, otherwise I find myself waking earlier & being unable to get back to sleep due to being conscious of aches & pains. So sleep really is the most critical requirement, as said in the video
