10 Funny Old Commercials

- I put together ten funny commercials that made me laugh, mostly advertisements from the 90s, many European adverts, also from US. Some of them are real classics and won the Cannes Lions. I enjoyed them back then, but I had no place where to put them, so I made this collection. They are from a time before we all had internet, so the quality is low. But their creativity, originality and fun are real. I hope you enjoy them. These ads are included:
1. Yellow Pages, "Shark" / "Shark Attack" / "Tank Crack" - this one was very famous at its time and often forwarded by email, apparently it is from 1999, thanks to @fanfam for the information
2. Milwaukee Electric Tools, "Breakdance Drill", not later than 2008 - simply a nice idea with two amazing dancers
3. Miller Lite, "Miller Time" or "Miller Twist" from 1998 - the guy is gold, the actor is Ray Bokhour, The Miller Lite Twist Guy, thanks to @TerrorBrent for the information
4. Kit Kat, "Entenjagd" / "Entenjäger" (engl. Ducking, Duck shooting) from 1992 - that one was also very famous and it's time and won in Cannes (Have a break, have a Kit Kat)
5. Renault Clio, "Get uppa" / "Get up" from 1999 by apparently Agulla & Baccetti from Argentina with Sex Machine by James Brown - this one made us laugh so hard at its time, too bad there is no better quality available (Get upaaaaaa)
6. Centraal Beheer (also called Apeldoorn), an insurance company from the Netherlands, with "Commercial Zweefvlieger" (engl. Glider) from 1994 with the British actor Nathaniel Parker - the commercial was played and talked about very often, at least in Austria (Even Apeldoorn bellen)
7. John West Red Salmon, “Bear” from 2000 - the award winning and most downloaded and most forwarded TV online ad from 2000
8. Perrier, "Le Lion" (Lion) from 1991 by Ogilvy & Mather - that one won the Cannes Grand Prix
9. Tabasco, "Mosquito" / "Exploding Mosquito" from 1998 - that one was so much talked about and is still remembered, the guy enjoys it so convincingly
10. Yellow Pages, "Zipper" from 1994 - we loved to watch it
11. Japp, "Rasta" (Porsche) from 1999/2000 with the amazing Victor Romero Evans by Leo Burnett, Oslo/Norway (also called Rasta Man), Japp is basically Mars - that one was so famous

@@DaliborTruhlar Good old fashioned humor. No transgender, overtly obvious mix-race, fake socially conscience bullshit. Just humans being goofy in everyday situations. Innocent non-offensive subtle humor. Nothing shoved down your throat. Yeah, that style.

The first second third and forth commercials with the guy who has dreadlocks hoping the other guy out because he looks like he needs a helping hand. I remember seeing the Tabasco commercial with the mosquito live during super bowl 32. We were recording it. It soon became the most worn out part of that vhs tape!

Said it many times that "twist to open" is my all-time favorite. Still remember the first time we saw it and our reactions to that commercial. So good, I don't even remember which Superbowl it debuted on, let alone the game itself.

You're right! Some time ago I wanted to make a video with Yellow Pages commercials only because they were so good, but I was afraid most people wouldn't even understand what is being advertised 😁 They do exist, though, just not in the classic printed way 😊
Still to this day the best comical ive seen was over 30 yrs for Rolo chocolate. It was about a little boy teasing a baby elephant at the zoo with Rolo chocolate. The when the little boy is all grown up, he goes to a street parade. Well, the little elephant that he teased is all grown up as well and was in the street parade, noticed the man, and remebered that he was the little boy that teased him and whacks him across the face😂

That one at the very end had me laughing my arse off! I'd seen most of the others before, but I never saw those Japp one's for that candy bar or whatever it is. All of them were funny, but the last on in particular was hilarious. (I grew up around a lot of small, aggressive, noisy, yapper dogs)

In the US there was a series of commercials where guy trained his dog to get a beer. He would hear fridge open, dog digging for beer, then beer opening and drank. " *dogs name* that better be your beer" Good series of commercials.

Thanks, I really liked the Japp ads, I saw the first one (where the Jamaican pushed the red Porsche car) in a top 20 funny commercial ad, but it had laughing sounds on it and it was pretty low quality

I wish that the commercials here in the States were this well written and funny! Here, most are just SO poorly written and horribly executed that Ineed to hit the mute button on the remote as they're mostly awful. These gems are a reminder of how incredibly bad commercials of today actually are.
