The rear Camaro glass is worth big dollars…. honestly the Camaro is worth a few grand in parts EDIT: Chris at the NONONSENSEKNOWHOW channel knows a attorney that specializes in automotive title work. He just made a video commenting on “said” attorney getting his Plymouth Fury titled, and I believe a Chevelle titled. Gabe there is 10-15k in vehicles sitting there.
My boss found someone to scrap them, I don't know all the details. We mainly wanted the space back so someone else could rent it, the vehicles turned out to be too rusty and missing too many parts to be worth much.
I have this same exact trailer. I bought it in kit form from Harbour Freight several years ago after getting frustrated with paying more for insurance, tags, and taxes on a pickup that I only used when I needed to haul something than I did on fuel for it. Worked out great and only complaint is the yoke is a bit too short and I expect one day I may extend it out another 12-18 inches. I paid around $300 for this trailer because of the folding feature that makes it easy to store in a small space. Great find
I literally just made a comment noting regarding the hubs for use as a closest match to the 25mm spindles on the 1195 and 1720 lb rated Harbor Freight trailers. Chrysler PT is maybe closer though not sure if the quality is as good if I can find parts car OEM parts even used. The MK4 is 99-05 and maybe later to like 07. I forget offhand, though I believe those are the 30mm spindles rear wheel hubs. Maybe he can try with those? I ordered a RIGID 3" cut off tool and 20V DeWalt Milwaukee battery adapter for, to see if makes easier when out at the yard to salvage parts compared to the DeWalt angle grinder with 20V adapter 4.5 in discs.
I bet you looove getting that last oil pan bolt off that cursed vehicle. I swear I'll never work on one of those again. So much time for one goddamn bolt
I currently own that same exact model of trailer. The frame folds in the middle to stand vertical up on the castors. It originally came with fenders over the wheels. I've owned it for about 20 years and still have the title and it is registered. Great little trailer.
It's hilarious, the whole vehicle with no title process. A number of years ago I got into it with a guy on facebook who was trying to sell a motorcycle with no title. He tried telling everyone that its SUPER EASY, you just need to fill out a form and pay a couple of bucks. This was, of course, in Minnesota. It's a long process that is rarely worth it except for a very rare or very valuable vehicle.
There are definitely local places that'll come pick up junk cars AND pay you for them. Might be worth looking into. I really loved that old bus with the carpet and angry wasps nest on the ceiling... 😆
My boss found someone to scrap them, I don't know all the details. We mainly wanted the space back so someone else could rent it, the vehicles turned out to be too rusty and missing too many parts to be worth much. The bus was kind of tempting but my yard is already full and I already have a monorail :-P
That Camaro Z28 could be worth a couple grand. They're from the late 80's - 90's and are considered classics now. That's all depending on the condition of course. Edit: I'm not sure if it's a Z28, it could be an RS, you'd have to look at the badge down behind front wheels.
My boss found someone to scrap them, I don't know all the details. We mainly wanted the space back so someone else could rent it, the vehicles turned out to be too rusty and missing too many parts to be worth much.
If you use the parts of that trailer to build a trailer from "Parts on hand" then you can title it as an assembled trailer in Michigan since you're going to replace that axle and various other parts it won't be the same trailer when you're done... now if you were going to just take a trailer that had nothing wrong with it and try to retitle it I don't think that's allowed
I just got my first car and i can relate, im not a car guy either but was forced to replace a headlight and it wasnt that bad, actually embarassed i thougtht about taking it into a shop for that heh and now Im attempting a radiator fan swap and learning a few things. Like all those parts are expensive and probably worth money if you could be bothered to strip it and sell them individually. I paid $100 for the fan, it was new but would have rather paid $50 for a used one, I bet theres tonnes of parts on those cars like that , someone could use , id at leaste try to sell them as "parts" cars, could get more then a junkyard i imagine.
No salvage yards up that way that will come out and pay to haul those away? Then at least the locals can pick for parts before being squashed and or shredded. I just got a partial kit of the 1195lb rated folding trailer from a HF auction without the hubs and wheels. Some other parts were missing, so I ordered from HF and since the hubs were still on backorder, I was like why not just use something with my car 5x100 same lug pattern since I have some spare 5x100 rims and tires and then I'd always have a spare for it all. Looks like I'm going to have to custom fab spacers for the spindles and use so far what I've found as Chrysler PT Cruiser or certain years of VW Jetta rear wheel hub assemblies like 99 through 05 is closer at 30mm and a little larger 32mm is the later years ranges. Of course both are not the 25mm spindles hubs, though seems do able and can be more cost effective with more common sources of hubs if required. Any thoughts regarding like concerns or ideas?
My boss found someone to scrap the cars. I haven't gotten that deeply into hubs and spacers! I actually have some train wheels that should bolt onto... something, I just need to figure out the pattern and build another railroad vehicle.
Interesting. I just ordered some 30mm OD 24mm ID steel tube to make the spindle spacers with. I'll have to bore out the ID a little larger, though will be solid. Knowing my luck, I'll find bearings for like $5 that I could just swap that will fit the axles spindle diameter to replace the VW 30mm spindle bearings in the wheel hub assemblies. Guessing that might be whats on the rear of the VW there.@@saveitforparts
@@saveitforparts no problem at all! Was going to offer to give it an all expenses paid trip to Manitoba lol! Great job getting the trailer back into shape BTW. A sledge hammer is an underrated tool IMHO!
What kind of hoops you gotta jump to scrap and/or dispose of abandoned vehicles like this? Normally you need the title to scrap, but surely abandonment like this happens often enough that there must be a process. I've scrapped trucks in nearly this bad of condition before, most of the money is in the catalytic converters, but you can still usually get a hundred or two for the steel in a 2000ish era pickup, or at least you could in like, fall 2019. The bus is actually worse because it's going to have way more composites per pound. I've never heard of recycling composites working out so their disposal cost will probably be counted against you. This yard is probably a case for calling in a scrapyard or scrap metal service who knows the process of both the paperwork and yanking a bus out of a bog with a wrecker. Now of course, odds are good you've already finished this whole thing, so I'd love to hear more about these hoops

Youre probably looking at around 10 k in those vehicles maybe 3k if you could scrap them the horse trailer would also be a good scrap as well that chrysler convertible is junk any of thise cloud cars from that era sebring concorde etc are absolute dog water that vw the ons chevy and the camaro would more than likely be your big ticket items if you found the right buyer yhe bus would be better off for scrap though

when i saw the camaro and herd skrap yard my hart sunk BIG TIME
Thanking you from England.
The VW is a MK4, and is classic cusp. And More so, the parts are hard to find for.

The white chevy stakebed truck is worth something to the right guy. They are tough and a farmer would love it.
You have a special tallent to cure my boredom. Love it :)
DUDE THAT CAR BEHIND YOU HERE 2:16 IS A GEM, TAKE IT! IT WORTHS A LOT!
yes, camero rs

You’ve been killing it with upload cadence recently. Glad to it
A very nice pendant, and with a few hits from the hammer, it's ready to use again. I'm already looking forward to the videos with the handcar.
The fan is pretty cool!
White noise is great!
It really is

That bus would make a great ham radio shack parked out somewhere.

in my area you can get 200-500 ea for the junk cars
Yeah i got like $275 for a worse looking vehicle 10yrs ago.

You find the right person, ans they dont care about the title.
Ive bought 3 cars without because i just hoopdee them at the cabin.
It would be interesting to find a local youtuber with a car rescue channel and see what they can make of that mess.
You have a recyclers gold mine!
e.g. the copper in the AC units.
In Wisconsin the lost title isn't too bad if you have a willing owner, however it costs about $200 with transfer.

you should take some of thoes cars in the back cause some are worth alot but since theyve been there for a while it would cost alot to fix them sadly
The trailer looks like one that was sold at Costco in the 90s.
The trailer looks like a very old harbor freight trailer!
Oh I see you didn't replace the axle LOL😅
Salvage yards sometimes pay cash for junk vehicles.

I see a teardrop trailer build in your future...
Im just jealous... The Camaro here (1988-1991 I think) could be a treasure....But im in Ireland :( - No titles would of course be an issue.
Hey, any plans for the cover for the Camaro?
My boss found a scrapper to take everything, sorry!

If that camaro has a title, it could be worth a bit. It could also be worth absolutely nothing.
You should sell that Camaro to Vise grip garage or junkyard digs or pole barn garage
check that volkswagen and see if its a diesel with the 1.9. if so thats a valuable engine(if it works).

heh. horse trailer... that'd be nice. I'd finally have something that hauls ass.
NIce fuel cans in the bus
I had a lovely trailer--quite a bit better-built than the one you salvaged, and also bigger. But, I lost it in the divorce :(
buy a boxcar and convert it to work on the road
Call a local person who scraps and let them deal with the vehicles.
The engines might be worth something particularly the engine out of that bus
random spoon? watch out for dirty needles....
That spoon knows stuff eh eh
If You Haul your own scrap metal you can get around $200 a ton right now
Can I get some metal scrap
My boss already found someone to scrap them, sorry!
TLDW: saveitforparts works in salvage basically...
Nah, just property management. Sometimes there are dumpster boats, computers, who knows!

Thats probably the best option it just makes it way more cluttered holding onto vehicles without a concise plan
donate the old cars, they can be a tax write-off.
Kramer would approve!!
